Came here for lunch and shared five dishes between the two of us. I had already taken a few bites of the noodles with scallion sauce and one bite of the steamed shrimp dumplings before I remembered to snap a photo. The standout dishes for us were definitely the noodles with scallion sauce and the steamed shrimp dumplings. Both were flavorful, comforting, and easily the highlights of the meal. The other three dishes were just okay and didn't quite stand out compared to similar dishes we've had elsewhere. That said, service throughout lunch was pleasant and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. Gave this place a second chance because so many people I know love it. Our first experience when they first opened was horrible. The main thing I remember was the beef scallion pancake was cold inside which I took as meaning it was not prepped recently and quality control was a miss. Well we came back and ordered more dishes than necessary for 3 people but maybe because of PTSD we passed on the beef scallion pancake. For the most part, the dishes were tasty so we would return. Two minor complaints, the skin on the soup dumplings are a little thicker than I like, but the flavor of the dumpling was still good. Also, the seasoning on the rice cake dish was way too salty. I mean if hubby thinks the dish is salty, then it's really salty. Did we send it back? No. I don't like to send back a dish unless it's completely inedible. All in all we enjoyed our meal and the location is convenient for us so we will be back. We have the luxury in Long Island now to have so many great Chinese restaurants that it's difficult to stay loyal to one place for all things. Daughter loves the tofu crab dish so I know we will definitely be back for that. Ordering was easy on a tablet and a server made sure to confirm our order before passing it through to the kitchen. Waitstaff were attentive. We came early on a Sunday morning and boy am I glad that I asked for a table away from the other two tables already seated. I guess they were trying to fill up the tables in an orderly fashion, but I would have really been unhappy sitting next to one of those tables. Not sure why people feel a need to shout while conversing with a person right in front of them... But that's not a commentary on the restaurant, thankfully they moved us to a table in the other corner. I would truthfully give this place 3.5 stars but since that's not a choice, I gave it 4 stars. read more

Great find, just weird location. This is the type of place that is trending for Asian modern restaurants. Order of the ipad. The soup dumplings are fantastic and the best that I have found in Long Island. The other MAJOR greatness and one of the only places in LI to do it is the Chicken Rice Cake dish. FANTASTIC! Reason for 4 and not 5 is that they charge for hot tea, which is disappointing and the Har Gow was extremely fishy tasting. I would not even eat the other 5 pieces. That was a first. Great vibe and plenty of tables that were all full when I was there. read more

We had Norah as a server and she was amazing. Very attentive and got our very large orders in right away. The dumplings here are all amazing. Fresh and handmade. Crispy beef is a must try as well as their walnut shrimp and sautéed vegetables. Great for large groups and there's even a private room on the second floor. read more

Good soup dumplings in Long Island. Upon walking to the entrance, you see what looks like experienced Chefs making soup dumplings fresh and thin, without trying, I had a feeling this place is going to be good. Seated with no reservations weekend noon time, however highly recommend making because this place gets busy. Ordered pork and crab soup dumplings, Chicken noodles, beef pancake and shrimp dumplings. The soup dumplings is really fresh and thin. Chicken noodles was a bit on the greasier side, would skip next time Beef pancakes was a bit dry and overly fried, needs more sauce on the side. I walked into this restaurant and was completely ignored by the host staff. After waiting without acknowledgment, I seated myself and was forced to order through a greasy, grimy electronic kiosk that felt visibly unclean to the touch. Trying to make the best of the situation, I sat at the bar and waited for my food, only to be told afterward that I had apparently "ordered takeout" and was not allowed to eat there. At no point was I seated, greeted, instructed, or informed of this by any employee. Instead of hospitality, I was handed a bag like I was being pushed out the door. What made the experience worse was discovering the employee dismissing my concerns was actually the manager. If management behaves this way, it explains why the entire experience felt so disorganized, cold, and hostile. I will not be returning. read more

Came here recently with my aunt and uncle for lunch. We started with an order of fried chicken dumplings which were delicious, not greasy and loved the dipping sauce. For my entree, I ordered Sesame chicken which was pretty good, good quality chicken, needed a little heat but I forgot to ask for some sriracha sauce. Service was great, everyone was very helpful and friendly. I was looking at what other tables were ordering and definitely noticed things I'd like to try for next time. read more

I'm so happy to have DD Soup Dumpling & Hibachi here in Jericho. Jericho is long due for some decent Asian food. To be honest every time I finish a meal there, I wonder why I'm not there more often because it is absolutely fantastic. Reservations are highly recommended on weekends. Good size private parking lot. We've tried many of the food and have not been disappointed so far. However some of the things we typically order over and over again are the pork soup dumplings, pork and crab soup dumplings, mapo tofu, deep fried chicken with dry hot chilis, Chinese stir-fried cabbage, shredded beef with chili peppers. Good serving size. Free bowl of rice provided with each entree. All the soup dumplings are made in house. When you are walking into the restaurant from the parking lot you will see a little window and two older ladies making the dumplings by hand. Very cool. I have not tried the Hibachi there yet but the chefs seems to be very good at keeping the crowd entertained. I continue to wish this restaurant well so I can keep coming back! Best dumplings on L.I. hands down! No more trekking into china town for some authentic dim sum. I even think their regular dumplings are far superior than any other Chinese take out. They're not greasy and oily like other places. This is one Chinese spot that I can dine and my stomach stays in tact afterwards. I also felt the place was very clean. I love that this restaurant opened in this area. There are very few Asian restaurants specifically around here and this is a great addition. It used to be a sushi and hibachi restaurant but it's changed to Chinese cuisine with hibachi. Inside is well decorated and there's even a glass window facing 5e outside where you can see the soup dumplings being made. I've dined in once for hibachi prior to the change and again in this new restaurant and I do think it's gotten better. The hibachi chefs are entertaining and portions are good. Even if you're getting hibachi, you can also order from their regular menu which is what we did. The food tastes as good as what you'd get from Chinese restaurants in Queens. The soup dumplings were juicy, flavors for their dishes were great. Honestly, pretty good. I've also gotten take out here a few times (and will continue to do so) and it's always solid. It does taste authentic and they have a good variety of items on their menu from small dim sum dishes to full family-style sharing dishes. read more

Also, as expected, the prices are slightly higher here on Long Island but it's still a great option for the neighborhood. The restaurant is super clean and inviting. Customer service is friendly, inviting and attentive. They have a parking lot right outside of the restaurant. Their menu is on an iPad, and you order yourself. Super easy. After you've placed your order someone will come to your table to confirm your order. Before you know it, your food will start arriving! Enjoy! Again, what a great option for Long Island! Even though the prices are higher than Queens prices, it's still a great option for the days you just don't want to travel so far for good food. Welcome to the neighborhood! Had an absolutely lovely time here tonight. Space is large and bright. Not loud at all. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Ordering is done via iPad which I enjoy as it makes for a more seamless experience. We started with the Woodear mushrooms, corn soup and scallion pancakes. All were fantastic! Especially enjoyed the mushrooms. The sauce resembled that of mapo tofu which I love!! We also ordered a bunch of dumplings which were all super fluffy and flavorful. We went to this restaurant over the weekend and ordered five dishes. Since we had a large group, we decided to take the food to go. Among the dishes were my kids' favorites -- Kung Pao Chicken and Fish-Flavored Shredded Pork. However, both dishes were very disappointing this time. The Kung Pao Chicken had no Kung Pao sauce at all, and the so-called Fish-Flavored Shredded Pork turned out to be just shredded pork stir-fried with loofah and even some eggplant. It was nothing like the real dish. I was really dissatisfied because the food was completely different from what we had the first time we came here. The quality and flavor have gone downhill a lot. We have been to the Times Square location which is a nice option after a Broadway show because they are open late and you don't to eat pizza. We were happy to hear they opened a location on LI. Located across Home Depot on Jericho Tpke, it is a spacious and bright restaurant with plenty of parking. There is a picture window by the entrance where you can watch them make dumplings. Ordering is done on a tablet and the server comes over to confirm your order. We ordered the steamed pork dumplings, scallion pancakes and the kitchen lunch special of chicken lo mein and chicken corn soup. The soup dumpling skin wasn't thick and decent amount of soup. The food quality at the new Chinese eatery in # Jericho NY is excellent! DD Dumpling, they serve quality Shanghainese, Szechuanese, as well as Japanese Hibachi. They call themselves Modern Asian. They also boast a big list of beverages and cocktails. This is a 2nd restaurant that started from Manhattan off Lexington Ave opened here in Jericho Long Island recently. They get good business here with a lot of patrons. This is some of the highlights. The Szechuan style "Water Boiled Fish 水煮鱼" taste very authentic and not too overly spic and definitely numbing. And this truffle and garlic cauliflower stirfry was an instant hit. Along with the Mango fish, the crab meat soup dumplings, Pan fried Bao and other dishes, the bill with 20% tip was under $100. fagettaboutit! It's a steal! This place never disappoints! Norah is the best. The fried pork buns are the absolute best thing on the menu. Cucumber salad is always refreshing. Soup dumplings are freshly made on the spot.
