I'm so dissatisfied with my meal everything had no taste. I wish it was good I had higher expectations

I used to frequent this place for a decent Americanized Chinese meal. Unfortunately, the last 3 times I have ordered from this place, the food has been inedible. First time I threw out my food after ordering. I would highly recommend ownership review their recipes and find a way to bring back the flavor and quality that was around a while ago. You have the ability to get there since you used to prepare quality food in the past, but it has dropped way below the bar of acceptable. I would not recommend this place due to lack of quality and flavor amongst all dishes. read more

Never thought I'd ever review a Chinese take out place. It's one of those things that you take for granted. That being said. Food has always been great. Order is never wrong. The people who answer the phone make sure they know what you ordered and how you want it. Never waited long and I feel like they know the value of a polite, hungry satisfied customer. This place took a turn for the worst. Called ahead and told 45-50 minutes. I waited a full hour and walked in to find at least 12 people waiting inside, more standing outside or in cars and another 12 working behind the counter. Small waiting area, people not nearly 6 feet apart, it was very disturbing. Definitely unorganized and not following Covid precautions. Waited another 35 minutes! Brought food home only to find the dishes were not made properly despite it written correctly on the receipt attached to the bag. Finally the quality of the food has diminished. Lo Mein noodles over cooked and soggy, the boneless ribs were fatty and inedible. Had to discard half the meat and the dish made incorrectly was thrown out as well. review of last three visits. #1. ordered roast pork egg foo young got shrimp egg foo young. two patties burned. order #2 beef with broccoli . beef grisly and fatty. couldn't finish the rather small portion. visit #3. was told I could only get the fried rice in the large size with veggies. tasteless and could hardly find the veggies which were mushy. We love the food from Danny's! Everything is cooked fresh and clean- all white meat chicken and fresh vegetables. Zoodles are a delicious alternative to noodles! The soups are phenomenal, especially the China Town Style Noodle Soup!!!! The steamed dumplings are amazing! Love the Mei Fun and Egg Foo Young- in fact, we've really loved everything we've ever ordered. The kids working the front work super hard to ensure that the customer is treated with respect and that the orders are ready in a timely manner. Are there hiccups every now and then? Of course! This takeout restaurant is pretty consistent. Ordering is easy when you call. They remember you from your telephone number that pops up. They are quick to deliver. The chow fun noodles were very good. The shrimp wrapped in bacon did not really have much flavor and the tails are left on and covered so that you get the tail in your mail when you bite in to the shrimp. The ribs are pretty good although could be a bit juicier. The cold sesame noodles are way too dry, even if you try to mix them in the sauce. Soup is standard fare. After being turned off to ' takeout' Chinese food for some time, I decided to try Danny's a few months ago and what a very pleasant experience it's been. Unlike the typical heavy , salty, goopy take out Chinese food that dominates Long Island, Danny's is a refreshing change to me. What drew me to Danny's was their selection of Chinatown style noodle soups. Pretty much something you don't see outside of Chinatown. My go to flavor is the Roast Pork with chicken dumpling noodle soup. It's delicious. Clean and fresh and not the least bit salty. The dumplings are light and flavorful and look and taste homemade. The fresh spinach is just the right amount of green and overall it makes my tummy happy every time I've ordered it ! Tonight I tried the sliced roast pork appy. Also very nice. Lean pork and a real nice non salty sauce. The Crab Rangoon is a hit or miss dish in the takeout world, but at Danny's it's delicious. Yes it's the fake crab , but if you know this dish, you already know that, and Danny's take on it is a step up from the usual. Overall I'm pleased to have found a 'new to me' place to get my Chinese takeout fix ! The online ordering portal is super easy to navigate and you can customize everything you order , from sauces on the side, or well done ribs and pretty much anything folks could think of requesting. Delivery was super fast and my delivery guy couldn't have been sweeter ! I've got lunch for tomorrow so all is good in my little world ! Sooooo, we were craving Chinese food since we haven't had any in 3+ months. I read a lot of positive reviews about Danny's in FB review groups I am a member of. We ordered today for the first time and picked up the food about 4:30pm. We had veg lo mein, chicken lo mein, steamed veg dumplings, pork fried rice, egg rolls and spare ribs. It was DELICIOUS! The young lady who took the order was friendly and very thorough. We paid over the phone and said we'd give a cash tip when we arrived. The young man who brought the food to the car was extremely thankful for the tip. (We like to tip BIG, but especially during these times!!!) we drove from Long Beach to Bellmore to pick up our food and it was sooooo worth the trip!! Great job! Chilling at Home Depot for hours trying to find stuff and of course I get hungry. Not quite hangry but definitely hungry. I used Yelp to find a close Chinese spot. Now I chose Danny's based on how it looked from the pictures posted and because fellow Yelpers noted that it was clean. Good customer service and a clean establishment are pluses in my book. So I stop by and order a healthy amount of food to take home. I do have to say it was a very clean kitchen from my point of view. The tables and floor were also clean. The young man who took our order was nice and even let us know the pricing for extra shrimp in the soup for my husband. Not a big deal we expected to be charged extra. We took the order to go and dug in when we got home. This place has a damn good shrimp roll. I mean damn good. I was sort of upset that I didn't get two orders. They actually have fresh fried noodle thingys. You know what I'm talking about those fried noodles that come in small package that no one eats because they are stale. I don't think I've ever had them fresh. I'm happily munching on them as I write this review. I ordered steam vegetable dumplings which were pretty good. My husband had the chicken, shrimp, pork soup. He really liked the chicken and shrimp but wasn't a fan of the pork. I had a large shrimp fried rice and liked the shrimp but felt that the rice was a bit crunchy because it was overcooked. If I'm ever in the area again I would stop by and try out other items on the menu. read more

This place is always clean. That's important. As a vegan I have concerns about what I'm consuming and there have been several instances of confusion which prevent me from 5 star rating. Don't feed me eggs when I'm vegan. Veggie dumplings - made from eggs which I wasn't aware - make me hate you. Don't have a random small chicken or beef piece in my broccoli - not vegan, and that tells me you're not cleaning something you're using. In my search for good Chinese food spot on long island I came across this spot. Looked online and they had great reviews and a good looking website. I phoned in a order to pick up. The lady who took my order was a little rushy, but understandable because their online ordering system was down and were probably getting a lot of of calls. Had to tell her several times "I'm not finished placing my order". Placed my $80 order and was on my way. When got to the place and walked in the door, there was 1 Customer at the counter and 4 people working the counter 1 young man and 3 females. I was immediately greeted my the young man who nicely said one min pls. To me, that was awesome Customer service is everything. Then one of the lady's stepped up to help me. I said I'm here to pick up a phone order. She kindly asked for my name and got my order which was already packed and waiting. Saying to myself this is awesome. The lady had trouble with her register system and could not process the order. As she was Banging on the keyboard trying to get the computer to work, I kindly asked for extra duck sauce and soy sauce, after all I was feeding a group of 10 and wanted make sure enough condiments were in the bag. The lady heard me but with the frustration from the computer I guess she forgot. She told the young man next to here my register is done can you help the customer (ME). The young man had a problem with his register as well. I said to the young man, I requested extra duck sauce and soy sauce, not sure if the lady past that request on to you. He said no problem. Still trying to figure out how to take my money no one is listening to my request. Finally took my money and I still was ignored. Getting frustrated at this point because now I have made this request 3 times and was unheard. I waited. Then I said I can't believe no one has heard my request for extra condiments, with all these ears at the counter and one customer inside besides myself. The girls faces changed to disgusting look like no this angry black man didn't ask for extra stuff. Mumbling and laughing among them selves was very embarrassing, very disappointing that this store could not keep their professionalism with there staff at the counter. Luckily the young man saved the day and went immediately to get my extra things. I said to him, bro I'm not trying to start anything I see the frowns im getting behind the counter. I offered to pay for the extra things but he replied nah you good. Shout out to that young man who kept his professionalism in tact. He should be made a manager. And the ladies should be moved to the back of the store if they can't handle the public. Just makes the store look bad. Now, my experience here was a shame. Because the food is freaking awesome, I enjoyed every bit of it. It even passed the reheat test. But because of the those ladies. Danny's has become our new go to favorite take-out for Chinese. It has everything you want in an American-Chinese food take out place: Good food, lots of menu choices, reasonable prices, friendly and efficient service, and it looks very clean! The last one is one of the biggest selling points for me, a very CLEAN Chinese food take-out place, which is hard to find on Long Island. The place is usually very busy, but have never had a wait time of more than 20 minutes, and have never had to wait there for my food once I got there. Very efficiently run business operation. As for the food, in the year and a half we have been going there (usually at least once a month), we have never had a bad meal. My wife usually sticks with the classics like Chicken and Broccoli or General Tsao chicken (one of the best around). I am a big fan of the Gung Bo Chicken w. Peanuts (like Kung Pow Chicken), and the Roast Pork Egg Foo Young. Would recommend giving it a shot if you are in the area read more

Thank you for delivering with Uber eats. This is my go to spot. The chicken is actually white meat and doesn't look like chicken fat. The wonton egg drop soup is by far my favorite and the crunchy crackers they give with it are awesome. Their fried rice is decent but nothing a side of soy or duck sauce can't fix. I'm happy we have a Chinese place nearby that is consistently good time and time again. Me and my family are a big fan of the staples. Tonight we had, among other things, the lo mein, chicken with broccoli, spring rolls, brown rice, and wonton soup. All four of us enjoyed. I ordered online which was super easy. I decided to get out and picked it up and I'm always impressed by how clean this restaurant is. Both the front and kitchen area. My order was waiting for me and the staff up front was very nice. This restaurant is a true disappointment. I would have to say that it is the worst chinese food I have ever had. The quality and taste were just absolutely horrible. We ordered half of fried chicken with pork fried rice. The chicken was beyond dry, chewy and tasted like old chicken fried a few times. The fried rice was part soggy and the other part hard like old rice. Sesame chicken was soggy and didn't taste fresh. It had an off aftertaste. We also ordered chicken dumplings with Hong Kong style noodles. They served pasta as the noodles in a bland broth. They advertise that the chicken dumplings were made there. The filling of the dumplings does not even taste like chicken. I would've given this place less than 1 star if I could. There are so many other Chinese take out places and even the below average ones taste better than this. Don't waste your money on this place. Just to give you an idea, I use Yelp as a reference and never would write a review. This place is so horrible that a review to let others know is so warranted. Just ordered lunch for the first time from Danny's for a few of us at the office. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions huge. We actually fed 2 additional people with our 3 meals. My friend ordered pork dumping they were burnt total Gross!! I got a pastrami egg roll I tasted like dead cat!!! So I threw that away. We went on to my General Tso chicken all bread!!!! No chicken Nasty was like a hush puppy. The fried rice was Ok, that is all out of the whole meal oh the Broccoli was good, lol so out of $37.00 I got good Broccoli most expensive vegetable I ever ate. We threw it away!!!!! And went to the Orient in Bethpage and spent another $40.00 so I spend $80.00 for dinner for two..... Very disappointed in the food. Ordered 3 different dishes. All the food tasted flat. No flavor. The beef and broccoli was on the dry side. Where's the sauce??? Also, disappointed that they gave me a pint of rice for the large beef and broccoli I ordered. That was cheap of you. Give me a quart for a quart of beef and broccoli. The vegetable lo mein no sauce, very dry. The roast pork lo mein also dry. If they actually made a tasty brown sauce like Chow's does in Massapequa, the food would be much better. The worst Chinese food we ever had. We ordered Pepper steak onion combo. The onion was raw. The por fried rice uneatable. The meat bland. General tsao chicken. Rice was black with oil taste over used. I wish I could post picture of the dish. Buffalo chicken wings. Super oily. With feather still attached with hot sauce on top. Uneatable. Pure oil. Aweful really the worst Chinese we ever had. It was an order to go. On the other hand the staff is very caring. Very presentable. Clean. Soft spoken. Helpful and patient. The place is very clean and organized. It seems Danny is helping school teenagers during school break and that's commanding!! I recommend the chef/cook to experiment Chinese food somewhere else to have an idea. Or take a course. Unfortunately the food is that awful. I'm sure the review 4 stars out of five is rigged. Danny's Chinese Kitchen is a great option for a 'Healthy' chinese food craving. They have a nice selection of healthier options which are all steamed rather than fried. This is however all I would come to Danny's for. I have tried a few other dishes which aren't as "healthy" and wasn't as impressed. The General Tso and Sesame Chicken dishes although have delicious sauces, the chicken was not very good. The appearance of the chicken was nice...they seemed big and meaty but looks were deceiving. There was way too much batter around the chicken which made it very dense and I felt like I was eating more batter filler than chicken. On a side note, the service is above the standard of other chinese food restaurants in the area and the restaurant is clean. They save your number whenever you call so they know it is you and make it easier to place an order each time. read more

My go-to for Chinese in the neighborhood. Granted, I've only lived here a few months, but I'd be surprised if I don't remain loyal.

I ordered the boneless spare rib combination with pork fried rice and chicken wings and the pork was great nice juicy pieces of meat not like the other stores that use the smaller pieces that get burnt and hard after cooking. I think the egg rolls here are one of the biggest I've seen in stores. There was plenty of people working here and attentive to me walking in. My food was prepared on time and I didn't get an attitude when I asked for two hot oils like all the other Chinese food locations and no up charge for additional hot oil (I refuse to pay an up charge for hot oil I have in the past refused to take an already prepared order for the 25 to 50 cent up charge especially since I tell them I need no other sauces or utensils therefore saving them money). they didn't get the full 5 stars only because I wasn't a fan of their pork fried rice don't get me wrong it was good but I have tasted better but that won't stop me from going there again I can't wait to explore the rest of their menu! Placed my regular order for my family of dumplings, wonton egg drop soup, chicken and broccoli and general Tso. The soup was a neon yellow color and was ok.
