That includes an old Full-Campy Custom Serotta, and an old but high-end Trek Tri-bike that my daughter used for many years, including commuting in Montreal at McGill, and lately training for a Half-Ironman. Bicycle World re-fitted my daughter's old Trek last year, helping to solve a developing knee problem. I consider the $200 price for a complete fitting (with posture-suggestions) was a deal, considering the alternative costs in pain and medical expenses. They can't do anything about my pain trying to keep up with my daughter up hills, however. This week, I bought her a used Cervelo P3 bike from theproscloset.com, and again, Bicycle World did a very complete and fine-tuned fitting. They also fixed a couple significant issues: (1) somebody had dropped a seat-clamp into the frame, which required completely disassembling the crank and headset to extract, and (2) the derailleur drop-out was bent out of alignment. theproscloset.com was actually happy to pay for those fixes on an otherwise- pristine bike. The less-than-one-day turnaround was perhaps lucky, but great since my daughter is here for only a few more days. We should all support our LBS, and I'm very happy with mine. I also find their prices are usually as good as Amashame.com or is it Amascam.com? In the shop they are all wearing masks (and I mean correctly!) which I also appreciate.

Awful Experience -- Stay Away from This Bike Shop…read more I've tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but after multiple bad experiences, I'm done. The co-founder -- who seems to be the face of the business -- is consistently rude, dismissive, and lacks basic customer service skills. Today was the final straw. I came to pick up my bike after clearly telling their service rep I'd be in on Wednesday or Thursday. Instead of being helpful, I was met with attitude for not "calling ahead." I'm sorry, but I gave a window -- and you're closed Sunday -- so maybe don't take it out on your customers. Previously, she left me standing outside even though it was one minute before opening. Another time, she snapped at me for wanting to load my bike into the car before paying -- as if helping a customer ensure the product fits isn't part of the job. And when I finally spoke up about how I've been treated over the years, she literally told me she didn't like my tone. Not professional. Not acceptable. If you value good service, skip this place. Anyone know a better bike shop in Westchester? I'm in Ossining -- happy to drive 15-20 minutes for respectful, reliable service. Thanks in advance -- and seriously, avoid this shop if you don't want your day ruined. Look at this biz owner's response. This is how they treat customers. She basically told me she does not like my voice. Like how I speak. ___________________________________________ Owner's response below blaming me for getting g yelled at for not calling in advance. -after I told their service provider I would be in Wednesday or Thursday to bike up my bike. See blow folks. Unfortunately, the biz owner's response is consistent with the kind of dismissive attitude I've experienced in person. I stand by my review and hope other customers take note.

They were to transfer my parts from my existing bike. All the guys at the shop were super cool and friendly and mechanic and I geeked out over 1x ratios. I felt positive that my bike was in good hands for the build. The build was quickly done and I go in the following Saturday to pick up the bike and again I was warmly greeted by everyone in the shop. Everyone is gushing over the bike saying how beautiful it is. I get home and want to prep the bike for my fathers day ride and I go to takeoff the warranty sticker on the downtube and I noticed someone has painted over a sizeable chip by the bottom bracket. I know it's the shop because there is touchup paint on my brand new ceramic bottom bracket. I call up on Monday and get the mechanic and he remembers me and I ask him why there was a chip on the frame. He admits he caused the damaged and it was due to paint on the BB. I really don't remember seeing any paint on the face of the bottom bracket but I will take his word. I asked, why he didn't face the bottom bracket then and he replied he could have created a crack all along the bottom bracket in the lacquer. Ultimately I ask him why he didn't call before he did the install, or after he did the install and it went wrong, or why didn't he mention anything when I came to pickup the bike let alone file a claim with Specialized? The kicker is, the touchup was so poorly done I rubbed away the paint with my finger. The mechanic kept asking what I wanted to do? He kept offering to do another touchup. IMO my experience was a combo of bad customer service and bad technique used. I standby the fact the bottom bracket easily could have been faced if there truly was paint overspray but if the shop didn't have the tools they needed to RMA it. I also was pretty pissed because they lost some of the hardware for my Roval Alpinist seat post on my other bike where I was transferring parts and even though I told the mechanic my chain was waxed, he went and oiled it up. I had to clean my who drive chain and reset my chain again. Beyond that the mechanic there was insanely rude. I was explaining why I was so upset, he cuts me off and says, "you are talking too much, what do you want". Well for one treat my bike like you would treat yours. Simply avoid this shop. This place isn't cheap and isn't worth the headache

DO NOT LET COLIN TANNER TOUCH YOUR BIKE! Colin is easily the worst bike fitter in the New York…read morearea. He ruined my Parlee RZ7. In 2023, I had an initial bike fit with Colin. At the time, I was relatively naïve and inexperienced with bike fits. After my bike fit with Colin, however, I quickly learned how a bike fit can go wrong. First, despite my sit bone width indicating a 145mm maximum wide saddle size, Colin sold me a 165mm wide saddle. My local bike shop later told me that they have never even seen a 165mm wide saddle on a performance road bike, such as an RZ7! Next, Colin inexplicably decided it would be best to drop my handlebars by a whopping 25mm. After he cut the fork and set the bike in an overly aggressive position - completely inappropriate for a non-racer like myself - I experienced extreme body pain during and after my subsequent rides. My bike was thereafter unusable. To salvage my bike, I was forced to order a new fork from Parlee, costing me over $1,000 for the part and installation by my local bike shop! That's right - Colin's bike fit ended up screwing up my bike so badly that I had to pay over $1,000 to correct his errors! When I asked Colin about it, he said, "Well, I can't make bike forks grow." Great customer service. Thankfully, I found another bike fitter in the area to correct all of Colin's blunders, and now my RZ7 is set up perfectly. Let this be a cautionary tale for all you fellow cyclists. Do not trust Colin Tanner with your bike. He is clueless and is committing malpractice as a bike fitter. Having Colin Tanner do a bike fit is like hiring a circus clown to fix a nuclear reactor. He does not have the knowledge or intelligence to be doing this work. If you need a bike fit, please go to either Piermont Bike Connection or Signature Cycles, where you can find some of the best bike fitters in the tri-state area.
