It's tricky to find but so worth it. First time dining here for my husband and I. It was fantastic. We are exceptionally picky about our steaks. I ordered the surprising affordable filet and 8 oz. lobster, perfect, melt in your mouth perfect. My husband ordered the filet, also perfect. Our waitress, Calaigh,( sorry, not sure of the spelling) was outstanding, finding good service is no longer a given but she was spot on. Drinks were priced in line with most good restaurants. Desert appears to be in house and was great. The whole staff was friendly, efficient and well trained. Nick the manager stopped by our table and thanked us for stopping in. Classy and welcoming. I have been there twice now once for breakfast and once for lunch. All I can say is Amazing food and service!! I will keep recommending this place and will be back very soon. I had the eggs with wild rice and fried potatoes and it was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. For lunch I had the cheese steak and again it was great. Fantastic! The first thing you notice is the energetic buzz in the air. Nicely decorated with a fabulous patio for outdoor seating complete with a fireplace. Live music (at the perfect volume!) ratcheted up the 'fun volume'. The menu has plenty of choices to please everybody and nightly specials add to the selections. Our party ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees and nobody was disappointed. What makes Danny's really special is the staff. We had a couple of glitches (i.e. waiting a bit for our reservation on a busy night) but the service more than made up for it. Our server Kelly was attentive, knowledgeable and personable. After dinner we headed to the bar and the staff there was the same, funny and full of suggestions. So many other restaurants could learn a lot from Danny's management and team members! read more

Heard food was good and had a coupon. Ordered fresh fish entree, Mahimahi. And wife tried ribs and pulled pork. Fish was tough not flakey so I sent it back and just shared the ribs. The ribs were excellent great flavor and the pulled pork good. read more

Loved the Cajun breakfast. Spicy enough, but not bring-tears-to-your-eyes hot. Bloody Mike's were good, too. We also tried the Endless Breakfast and it was excellent, also. The French toast was really tasty. Erin did an excellent job as our server. We'll definitely return! read more

So disappointed! This has been one of our favorite local restaurants but the new menu is very limited and expensive. All of our favorite items are off the menu and what we did order was not the same quality. And what used to be a free bread basket now costs $4.00! The restaurant was so hot and stuffy, it didn't seem like the air conditioning was on on a hot June evening. We understand a new chef wanting to make their mark but these changes seem to be only about increasing profitability. I don't know how anyone can give this place less than 4 stars. Chef Ron has to be one of the area's most underrated chefs. . I've had almost everything on the menu, minus the pasta dishes. I love the short ribs, pecan walleye, knife and fork chicken club, Wedge salad, grilled romaine, and my favorite regular dish, the chicken asiago milanese. Our family has been patron's to Danny's for years. It was once a very vibrant steakhouse. Sadly over the past 3-4 years it has been declining on all fronts, management, service, staff and food. On Saturday, June 27,2020 at 1:00 pm I met my sister to have a birthday lunch on the patio with her. Our experience bordered on apocalyptic. I should begin by saying, prior to arriving at Danny's I called the restaurant three times to make a reservation, as it was a beautiful day and I thought they may be busy. On all three occasion's the phone was never answered it just kept looping me through the system. When we arrived at 1:00pm on Saturday afternoon the parking lot was packed. We walked in and approached the hostess stand and waited for five minutes when no hostess, manager or server showed up to seat us we decided to head out to the patio. Walking through the restaurant we saw 5 golfer's sitting at the bar and one six top of golfers sitting at a high top in the bar but still no living, breathing employee's. What we saw when we walked out onto the patio that was apocalyptic! There was absolutely no one on the patio, the chairs were all wonky, chair cushions on the ground, 4-5 tables had never been bussed, dirty plates with flies flying around them, most of the other tables had dirty glassware and had not been wiped off, my sister and I looked at each like we had entered another dimension. We found a cleared table that needed to be wiped down and sat down as it was the lesser of all evils! We sat and waited for 25 minutes waiting for someone any one to come out and acknowledge us. To our dismay no one came! Now we are 30 minutes into this apocalyptic adventure and we literally have not seen one living, breathing employee of Danny's! At this point my sister and I decided that it was best to move on before we too were taken into the clouds and disappeared without out loved one's knowledge! I believe APOCALYPTIC is the best word to describe our Danny's adventure due to the lack of human presence. We went to San Pedro Café in Hudson and had a very nice lunch on their patio! read more

This used to be a favorite, but the menu changed with the new chef. The menu is now very limited and the food is not as good as it used to be. Until they get a new chef or improve the menu / food do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere. read more

I wanted to take my hubby to a nice restaurant for his b-day, without breaking the bank. We also didn't want to have to wait for two hours or shout at each other to hear one another. Danny's has good prices, they take reservations, the ambience and acoustics are great to hear one another and the music! We will be going back! The food was delicious and the waitress was very good! The food at Danny's is amazing. I've been there many times over the summer and have had just about everything on the menu. My favorite dish was the Ahi Tuna steak. It's lightly breaded and cooked perfectly rare served on top of noodle stir fry, and a wasabi aioli sauce (I always ask for extra, so good). Also the Guinness Beer Braised Short Ribs are outstanding. As far as lunch goes, you have to try the Knife and Fork Chicken Club. You really can't go wrong with anything on this menu, and especially the dinner specials. Chef Ron really knows what he's doing, and the waitstaff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the manager usually makes rounds to make sure your experience is nothing less than spectacular. I have never had a bad experience at Danny's. They also have half off bottles of wine on Mondays and Tuesdays, live music on the weekends, and a beautiful patio overlooking the golf course, you really can't beat that! read more

We went for my sister's birthday. There were 7 of us, and we sat in the bar restaurant, not the full restaurant. 3 of us were not drinking. The ones that did drink, at the most had 3 drinks. We ended up spending just under $300-before tip!!!!, because everything was a la carte. "Want a salad with that?". Nothing to indicate that that was an extra charge, it just was. Soup, etc. Which I might have been okay with, if the food had been amazing. It was mediocre at best. I got some sort of walleye bites, and they came out, and looked like little poop nuggets (I actually said that at the time). They were not tasty at all to me, although my brother liked them and ate them all. It was severely overpriced, the food was Meh, and the signage to get there is not great. The only good thing I can say is that the service was very good-that's what raised it from a 1 to a 2. Our server, and the busboy/kitchen assistant were very pleasant and helpful, as I know we are a very difficult crowd, with all of us talking over each other, etc. I would have a hard time recommending this place at all. read more

Danny's was a midway spot for us to meet another couple, first time for both of us. WOW, we were all very impressed. I had the Copper River Salmon, outstanding! My wife had the steak/shrimp/pasta dish recommended by our server. Another WOW. Very fair prices, good drinks and great service. We will be going back. read more

My Husband and I went to Danny's Bar & Grill to enjoy a great meal, which has always been what we received there. Last evening was a little disturbing to me with their cracker wafer type bread that is served in the bread basket. My husband and I both took a bite and looked at each other and said together that we tasted mold, like when you take a bite out of a piece of moldy bread that you did not know was moldy until you bit into it. We informed a young man working at Danny's clearing a table and he just shook his head and shrugged his shoulders and then went into the kitchen. No response. 10 min. later a kitchen staff, cook (maybe owner) came out and asked how everything was. We informed him of the taste of the wafer type bread. ( We did not want anyone else to receive this bread if this was the case). We asked him to try a piece and he would not. He argued with us how this bread is brought in 3 times a week and there is no way it was bad. It was a humiliating experience. I even held it up and saw a green spot, he stated that this is the flour. We were polite and just wanted to make sure of the bread before they served it to other patrons. We just wanted them to taste the bread so we could move on and have them tell us this is the flavor. Pretty scary when they would not taste their own bread. Maybe we just had a bad batch, but after that kind of service and humiliating attention, we will not be going back.. The to-go menu along with the 8th hole call in feature was great. Ordered a quick bite from the 8th tee and was ready when I made the turn. The meal was average but that's what you expect when ordering food mid round. After playing 18 we ended up staying for drinks after and the staff was exceptional. Except the person whom I recognized to be "Chef Ron Bohnert" who sped out of the parking lot on his motorcycle and nearly sideswiped my friend. Chef Ron seemed to be on a power trip when I overheard him talking to some of the staff, I guess we may have a future Gordon Ramsey here in the friendly state of Minnesota. read more
