Ordered an app and food. 30 minutes later we asked where the app was and only then told the kitchen was sitting down but restarted and was getting up to speed. Waitress were not told this! Muddy Cow is our go to spot for our family when we have a large party. They are always able to accommodate us so I've been here a lot over the years. I even won a signed sports auction item for my hubby a couple of years ago. They have a weekly auction out on by an external local company. On this particular outing, there was a host at the entrance and we had a party of 8. Sometimes there isn't one and it says to seat yourself. I told him we had 5 adults and 3 kiddos. When he sat us he only gave us the regular menus - so I had to grab my own kid menus myself at the host stand. Then he also said - you'll have to ask another table to borrow a chair - this combined table only has 7 chairs. I politely asked him if he would ask the other table as a courtesy which he did. I am gfree and they have a lot of options with a gluten free bun you can do. I usually order the BLT burger or Cali Burger. Sometimes with the gfree bun sometimes not. I always upgrade to the side salad as my side which is delish with French dressing (no croutons). The quality of the food is really really good. One of my fav burger places in the twin cities. Another cool thing about the Muddy Cow - 2 for 1 drinks so on this particular visit I ordered a Suncruiser (pink lemonade) and totally forgot I would get 2. Hair in food and they asked if we wanted to remake it. Cheese seemed to be missing from Mac and cheese. .50 charge for lettuce. Waitress acted offended when we asked for something to be taken off our bill because we never received it. Fries were barely warm. read more

I asked for a side of sauce and I never received it and the waitress was offended that we asked her to take it off. Which she never did. We paid $6 extra for the macaroni and cheese and it was awful. The food is so greasy! We ordered a burger, egg rolls and cheese curds. There was a layer of grease under the cheese curds. Beer was warm. Staff were scarce and its very loud crowd. The floor is sticky and the tables are barely wiped down. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

Being told the kitchen is closed at 8:30pm on a Friday night was violently upsetting. This is the third time I've tried to order wings at this place just to be told the kitchen is closed. I called twice before I went just to make sure it was open and there was no answer. It wasn't busy at all when I got there 10min later. The food was very good, we had the chicken salad, Poutine, and a Ruben. The downside to the food is they brought the main course with the App. It's common sense to bring the app first. They seem to be under staffed, the wait staff is always rushing. It is a very noisy establishment, I have trouble hearing in noisy environments, and certainly had trouble there. I would have given this place a zero if I could. The service was horrible and the food subpar at best. We had a cocktail with a hair in it and the waitress never said sorry and just went and got another one. We also had a hair in our boneless chicken bites and the waitress said "oh, that's not fun". Not sorry about that or anything like "I will make another fresh order and not charge you". She then proceeded to charge us for the hair nuggets and I questioned her about it. She told me " I brought you out another order" not sorry I will take that off your bill or anything. Very rude. Two of our meals were also incorrect and we didn't even bring it up as they were hungry and didn't want to wait another hour for the correct food. Their manager was also a piece of work. He brought out our food and called us "kiddies" (all adults over 25), and proceeded to tell two of our guys "guess you girls don't like to enjoy life" when he dropped off their salads. What a putz and not very professional !! We will NOT be back to that dump in Stillwater (hence the barely 3 star rating overall - including only 1 review in 2 yrs) nor their other locations if this is how they are managed. Came in for the first time and was so impressed with not only the menu selection but the value and the service. The gal that waited on me took the time to share her favorites and others that come To frequent the restaurant. She lead me to a turkey club sandwich and the waffle fries. To say my experience here was disappointing is an understatement. Tonight was by far the WORST experience that I have ever had at a restaurant..... EVER! Seriously this whole thing is like something that you hear about on TV but never expect it to happen to you. When we got there we waited for 20 minutes before anyone came over to us to take out order (mind you it's just after 9 on a Monday night so they weren't busy and they only serve appetizers between 9-10), we should have just left then and not even stayed for this literal crap. The service was horrible, food was subpar and very over priced for quantity and quality, half of it was lukewarm like they just pulled it out of the fridge to heat it up for 30 seconds and served it to us, plus we were never given any plates to eat our food on. Not to mention halfway through our meal they turned the lights OFF in the section that we were sitting in!!! Yup, you heard me right we were sitting in the dark eating our food. (See picture attached) You'd think that our waitress would come over to check on us and see how we were doing or move us to a different section so we could actually SEE what we were eating let alone each other, but no she didn't come over once to even say anything about the fact that we were eating with our PHONE flashlights on. But you know who did come over? Another CUSTOMER that was eating in the restaurant with one of her friends. She couldn't believe how rude it was for no one to even come over and see what was going on or to even have turned the lights off in the first place. This wonderful lady not only came over once, but three times because she couldn't believe how we were being treated. While there is so much more to what happened tonight other than the above. The fact of the matter is that I have never been to a place where I had been disrespected so much as a customer at a restaurant in my life. I 100% would not recommend this place for anyone to go to sit down and have a meal. If I could give less star's, I can guarantee you that I would. read more

Muddy Cow is what would happen if the freezer section at Walmart decided it was a restaurant. I made the mistake of trying this place on my birthday. The mule was straight ginger beer and lucky me, it was happy hour so they got to throw two away. The burgers are made from old frozen patties with lots of seasoning to cover up any lack of actual execution. The waitress convinced me to try the dill fries because she wanted to watch me pay for a meal that she would throw away before my 6 year old decided he couldn't even stomach the pizza. Mac & Cheese is out of a box. And I assume the rest of the food here is out of a bag that sits in freezers for awhile before they get locals to move it around on plates before it is ultimately thrown away. This place is the best advertisement for an Applebee's I've ever seen; and we all know what the service there is like. read more

I tried Muddy Cow, for the first time a few days ago. i was looking forward to eating their food; as their menu looked so good! Boy was I ever let dow! i had the Prime Rib French Dip. i am being 100% Honest here! The meat was so chewy, it had to of been leftover from several days prior to me ordering it! It did not taste very good either. The kids chicken tenders were very chewy as well and tasted bad. It had a burnt taste to it even though they were not burnt. I'm sure the bad burnt taste is from the cooking oil used in the deep fryer. I recognized that burnt taste, from working in a restaurant kitxhen cooking before. The oil needed to be changed a week before I ordered food from there! Bottom line the food is disgusting!! I am sure Muddy Cow will not still be open in Oak Park Heights come Jan or Feb 2024! Muddy Cow moved into the old BWW location, and what an improvement! We went there at 5:30 on a Friday night with a group of 10. There was no host on duty, but I quickly found someone to help us find a place to sit. Drinks were all 2-for-1 which I appreciate, but not such a great deal if you only want one drink. The food was great! Best burger I've had in a long time. The hamburger buns are soft and fresh, and they have a wide variety of toppings to choose from, including several cheeses. Fries were delicious, and onion rings are huge. I was even impressed with my little side salad. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the food came out quickly. By the time we left about an hour later, there was a waiting line for seating, which I had never seen at BWW. Give it a try--I think you'll like it! read more
