You can download the app on your phone, see what time your dog walker arrived, as well as the route they went on and when the dogs returned home. A note is also added on the app so you know if any unusual events happened and if they peed/pooped, etc. on their walk. Very nice feature! Of course if something is truly wrong, they place a call right away to primary and secondary people listed on the account, followed by a text. They are on top of it!!!! We've used Dan and his staff three times this year to look after, feed, play and walk our teacup yorkie, Mahoney, while we are away on trips. His staff is courteous and professional, and they provide daily emails with notes and pics. They treat our dog almost as well as we do. No, I think they treat Mahoney better actually. LOL. Do not trust this service!!!!! When I first met the "team" they seemed very nice and I felt comfortable with letting them into my home to care for my two dogs. The first time I used the service everything went well, then they started sending people into my home that I had never met (something they told me they would never do) then I noticed on my home security camera that not only was there a stranger in my home but he did not even take my dogs out for a walk as I had clearly requested when I scheduled the service! I let them know that I was not ok with that and they gave me a credit for the walk, on using the credit last night the walker never even showed up!! My poor 5 month old puppy was in his crate crying to be let out, no-one answers the phone- I finally got Dan's phone number from a friend and he tried telling me some story about why he was late (over 45 minutes) and how my service was scheduled at a later time anyways which was not true. I will never be using this service again, they can not and should not be trusted in your homes or to do the simple tasks such as walking your dog or even showing up - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! read more

Ill start off by saying Jiggy is not the friendliest dog in the world. Taking him to the vet or to get groomed is a nightmare ALL the time. The last dog sitter we used called us 2 days into our vacation to tell us he wasn't going back because Jiggy bit him. When I met Dan and he told me he owned a dog walking business I was very hesitant to hire him out of fear that Jiggy would play his same old tricks. Dan assured me that everything would be ok and that he's dealt with every kind of dog imaginable. My immediate thoughts were "you've never met a dog like Jiggy before." So anyways I tried them out and to my surprise I never got that phone call that Jiggy was misbehaving, the opposite happened actually and Dan said he loved Jiggys energy! Last weekend I was in a jam-- I had an event in Port Washington and no place for my 8 month old puppy. I just got her two weeks ago, and couldn't leave her home alone. I was so relieved when I called Dan and he said he could watch her during the event. On the day of the event, I was running late, so I called Dan to tell him, and he went out of his way to meet me at the venue to pick up my dog! My dog had a lovely afternoon in Dan's office laying on couches and chasing tennis balls. When I came to pick her up, she was happy to see me, but definitely not in a rush to go. We have been using Dan's for over a year to walk our 2 dogs. Our dogs are always happy to see them. It is great that when they come to my home the walker scans a code unique to my home that sends me an email to tell me they have arrived. When they finish they scan it again and I get another email where they inform me how my dogs are doing and what "business" has occurred on their walk. Generally, they are very responsive to emails and texts (how I primarily communicate with them). I have used them for regularly scheduled walks and on as needed basis. Dan and his walkers worked with us to help our dog Buddy feel comfortable. Buddy is now happy to go for his walks with the walkers, and welcomes them each time. Dan was great with my Brixton and Buddy and was so kind as to call me and ask to turn on the AC for us after their walk on a very hot day. Very accommodating with last-minute requests, and I especially loved how Dan made a point of doing a meet-and-greet and GPS setup of the dog walking service so I knew my doggies and home were OK. So worth checking out and I will definitely use again. Also check out the great go-pro videos of pups out with their walkers in the neighborhood, love it! My only caveat and it's not a big deal but I had originally emailed the company over the Xmas holidays to reach out to me but understandably they must've been super busy and I should have called instead of emailed. I needed a sitter back then and I had forgotten to schedule a walker a week before Xmas! it was my bad. However, they have since upped their game...the response time from sending out an email request was prompt. You can also call the company directly if you're neurotic and a worry wart like me. Dan and his team have been taking care of my dogs for over 3 years. They are nothing short of lifesavers. They helped take care of my dog when she had cancer; they picked her up, took her to her chemo appointments, and then took her home. They stayed with her when she needed someone there. They genuinely care about the animals in their care. I currently use them to take care of my 135lb dog and his 70lb buddy - not an easy job! (plus the occasional cat feeding...) But they are reliable, trustworthy, capable and careful. Special instructions are followed, and Dan is always available if you need him personally. The walkers send great notes about the visit, allaying any worries a pet owner might have. I could not recommend them more highly. read more

I expect they're better for people who use them daily, but for now-and-again help, they're just were not reliable. A miserable and completely unprofessional experience! I normally don't bother with a negative review when I've had a bad experience, but with this company I felt compelled to show other pet owners what kind of nonsense they will be dealing with if you use this company. I hired them to walk & feed my dog while I was away on a day trip, I followed their instructions to the letter as to where to leave my dogs food. Imagine my shock & anger to find that when I return late in the night that my dog had not been fed at all! Leaving me to wonder if they showed up at all. I called to complain and "Dan" himself told me that the mistake was 100% his fault, he had forgotten to feed my dog, but he did walk the dog, of which I had no proof other than his word, which to be honest at this point wasn't worth very much. Dan was cordial and apologetic and assured me of a full refund. I was pleased at that point, mistakes do happen, but my customer service experience was only to get worse. Dan sent me an email stating that I'd only be getting half a refund, while he did forget to feed my dog, he claimed he did still walk her, of which I had no proof. I expressed to him my unhappiness at that, and he avoided my calls and emails for 2 days, and eventually charged my credit card the full amount! No refund what so ever! After a series of calls I finally got him on the phone, explained to him how unprofessional he & his business were, and told him all I wanted was my house key back and that would be the end of our relationship. Dan once again assured me he'd return the key by the end of the day and in typical Dan fashion the key was never returned. So I had to spring for a new front door lock. I urge anyone who's thinking about using Dan's Dog Walking Service to explore other options, and use another service. I would never recommend this company and since having this experience have met many other former customers of Dan's that have similar complaints. read more
