We tried Kickin Crab for the first time instead of our usual spot and overall it was decent. We ordered Combo #2 with 1 lb crab and 2 lb shrimp, Kickin' style, mild heat. The seafood itself was good, but the flavor leaned very tomato-forward, which was unexpected for a seafood boil, and there wasn't much spice at all--even at mild. First let me tell you - ask for a tray! We arrived before the rush, but service felt slow once the restaurant picked up. Our server was clearly busy and moving around a lot, but we didn't get drink refills and weren't checked on again until we were basically finished. The staff are very friendly here. You are greeted as soon as you enter. The place is neat and clean. I was dining alone and became overwhelmed with the menu choices because it offers a lot. Timmy was my server and he was able to guide me on the best selections for my appetite. He was really good with constantly checking if I was okay. The food was soooo delicious. I like my food spicy but the medium spice level was just right. Oh and the food comes out fast. I was highly satisfied with my visit. read more

I've been to a few crab boil places down Hulen and I personally think this one is the best one. I didn't have to wait for a long time to get a seat. We got seated immediately. Our server was incredibly nice and friendly. We ordered a pound of king crab in KC Fiesta with sausage and corn. We also ordered two steamed rice, calamari, and sweet potato fries. One pound of king crab were two king crab legs, which worked out because it was just me and my mom. There was way more than enough meat. I think why I liked this place more than the other ones down the street is because the KF Fiesta sauce blend was really memorable. I actually took it home because there was so much sauce left, but also because there was still sausage and corn too. I can literally just dump all of that over rice and that's a meal within itself. I also surprisingly enjoyed the sweet potato fries. My mom is a sweet potato fry fiend and I found myself scarfing down those fries faster than her. They were cut thin and they were sweet. The calamari was also tasty. It wasn't heavily salted or overly battered. The calamari wasn't chewy. It was perfectly cooked. The only bad thing I can say is that while the restaurant is well lit, our table was not. There's a pendant lamp that was covering the recessed light above so one spot of our table was pretty dark. The pendant light had a colored bulb in it that did nothing for the ambiance. Other than that, I would totally come back. Really excellent food and service! read more

I walked up to the counter and greeted the employee by saying, "Hello," but I didn't receive any response. I ordered 2 pounds of shrimp with potatoes and corn, and my total came to $43. When I received my order, it looked like I had only been given about 1 pound of shrimp instead of the 2 pounds I paid for. I went back inside and explained that I wanted a refund because the order did not appear to contain the full 2 pounds. In response, the manager, whose name was KC, said under his breath, "If you say so." I found his attitude unprofessional and dismissive. Between the lack of customer service, the incorrect order, and the manager's rude comment, this was a very disappointing experience. read more

SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE BUSINESS!! Not only has the establishment gone down, but they can't keep workers because the manager is a dick. We were in eating and heard the manager "Asian guy" disrespect a young women in front of everyone. When we got our food we barely had any seasoning and they were stingy about asking for butter for dipping. Yhe next day the entire family was throwing up from food poisoning. We've already made a report about this establishment, Facebook, TikTok and instagram post outing that the food is not safe. When you walk into a place of business that use to be good and to go a year later and experience the downfall it's heartbreaking. The manager needs to be replaced because he's the problem. Unfortunately, the service was a little lack luster with us having to ask for crackers for the crab, lemons for the oysters, and delays in the food. Everything about this place is phenomenal! From the service to the food, we didn't leave disappointed. The owners, Thi & Nick, are the sweetest and definitely took care of us! Our server was attentive and gave us recommendations for our boiled seafood. We loved her. When we come back, we will have to ask for her again! We got 2 of the snow crab bags, 1 lb live crawfish, fried oysters, cocktail pouches, and sweet potato fries. The KC Fiesta sauce was fantastic, it had a perfect blend of garlic and cajun spice. The shrimp was really delicious with the KC sauce. The crab, which was pricey, was not flavorful and lacked seasoning. It was just off. Also, recommend "medium" level spice unless you're a ghost-pepper loving human (then go a level higher). Staff is very friendly & quick. Huge TVs allow you to watch sports. If I was making this review based on service I would give this place 1 star. There were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant and clearly they needed more staff for the number of patrons there when they opened on a Sunday. They have all of these cameras when you first walk in, which I thought was strange until I saw the inside of the front door with dine and ditchers. Drinks took forever and all we ordered was water. We never got any refills even though our drinks were empty. The food, however, was freaking delicious. Everything was so tasty! Then, we had to wait almost 20 minutes to close our bill out. I had gone up to the register to pay because it was busy and our server hadn't come by our table despite indicating to her we needed her several times. Kind of gave me the impression maybe some of those walked tickets were because of how long they make you wait to pay even if you are in their face. We won't be back. read more
