Dantam is absolutely amazing at what she does! I requested for 4 bridesmaids HMU and 1 bridal HMU for the day of my wedding and needed to be ready for my event by 7AM. Tam did an amazing job for my mother and I. She did our makeup for my brothers wedding back in April and we got so many compliments the whole night. My mother who hardly wears makeup, stated that she wanted natural makeup that didn't feel heavy. Tam did just that, my mothers kept saying how beautiful she felt and she felt she had no makeup on at all. She was very surprised her makeup didn't move when sweating while dancing. My mother also wanted an updo hairstyle and was worried if we would be able to pull off the style she wanted with the hair length that she had. Tam was able to get my moms hairstyle how my mother requested it and it also stayed the whole night. For myself I have oily skin, no matter what I do I feel like my makeup will slide off, which I did voice that concern out to Tam. I don't know what Tam used on me but my makeup didn't budge at all. I hired Dantam through A-list makeup. I put in my inquiry and she responded quickly and was very transparent about her rates and fees. We discussed my inspiration photos and she sent over a contract. I found that it was actually difficult to find a HMUA who provided a contract - most wanted to work on emails and promises - and so I was very happy to sign and place a deposit! Dantam was accommodating during my hair and makeup trial and was open and receptive to feedback I had for her. It was my first time getting my hair and makeup done for anything and she made it a really calm and pleasant experience. It was fun to go out for a date night with my now husband after the trial! The day of my wedding, Dantam was the first vendor I saw. I was stressed about the wedding and PMSing and so my face was covered in breakouts which I was really insecure about, but Dantam reassured me that it would be covered. Dantam did my prom makeup and hair last weekend, and she was a joy to work with from the moment I contacted her. She responded to my every email promptly, and I was genuinely impressed with how meticulous she was in answering my questions and concerns. On the day of prom, I went to her home studio, which was very well-decorated (she had three giant Squishmallows!!), and she greeted me warmly. I heard nothing but positive, supportive comments from her while she painstakingly did my makeup and hair. Despite my hair being a little shorter than shoulder length, she was still able to do an updo--truly impressive! I was a soon-to-be bride who felt a lot of anxiety around choosing a hair and makeup artist. I don't typically wear ANY makeup. Shopping for a HMUA was a lot of looking at portfolios and intuitively knowing I liked something or didn't, but not being able to articulate why.
