    Strozzaprerti Dant e Beatrice

We started with the bruschetta ala pomodoro fresca, the pomodoro was seasoned perfectly. We then had a small order of ravioli with truffle cream sauce- OMG ridiculously delicious. My husband ordered the Strozzapreti Dante e Beatrice. It did not diss appoint. I ordered the Filet with green pepper sauce. I expected bell peppers but it was a peppercorn sauce that was Devine! We wish we would have found this place at the start of our trip instead of the end! Oh Limoncello!! Amazing!! Oh and the staff is fantastic and speaks very good English!!

We came to Italy looking for authentic Italian food and by George we found it. There were quite a few places for us to dine at and we thought this place looked the most inviting. Don't let the narrow restaurant fool you, this place is big on taste and will leave a lasting memory in your tum-tum. It captures everything right about Italian food; freshness, bold yet delicate flavours, homely, filling. The restaurant's simple yet comforting design reflected the meals, very easy to appreciate without it being over the top. The open door entrance allowed for a gentle warm breeze to enter which made drinking our beer that much more enjoyable. Moderate wait time. As with any amazing chef preparing great food - you can't rush perfection. The wife ordered lasagna and I spaghetti carbonara. Both were heavenly. The richness of the tomato sauce made the lasagna one of the best we'd ever eaten. It looks exquisite and made you want to buy a home here so you could eat it every single day. As for the carbonara I was met with the pinnacle of outstanding flavours and mouth feel. Just the right amount of sauce, meat and pasta. This sent me into the clouds. When the wife asked why I had tears running down my face I explained that I'd never eaten pasta this good before. Yeah, we must buy a house here. All and all it was the perfect experience. The wait staff where friendly and helpful and when we visit again you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be returning.

Just popped in as we were exploring the area and we're so glad we did!!!! The food and service was exceptional! I would definitely recommend coming here! The rating of the restaurant right now doesn't do it justice!

WOW. What an experience. Chef Alex was clearly passionate, knowledgeable, and had a hand in every dish. Our waiter Redi was SO kind and accommodating. Not only was the food incredible, but the service and atmosphere was unbeatable. We ate here on our last night and it was unforgettable. My boyfriend's favorite dish is eggplant parm, so I asked if I could watch the chef while he made it. Not only did he allow such, but Redi gave me a complimentary apron! They both also took photos with us despite being PACKED, and Redi gave us complimentary Limoncello! My favorite appetizer was the mussels, and the osso buco was the best we had in Firenze!

Well, we didn't plan well for dinner so we just went on closest to where we were. After reading a few reviews, it was mixed so hoped for the best. Well, I could honestly say that this place really was all over the place. The service was a little odd with the waiter finding it odd that we would ask for tap water. He also informed that he would only drink bottled water. There were a few specials so we just opted for it. I got some sort of rice dish with grounded meat while my wife had some sort lasagna which was super cheesy. Overall, the price was okay so not too disappointed. However, the dessert was a little off with some sort of chocolate pudding Jell-O and fruit cocktail. There was a couple next to us who were just wowed by the food and we just didn't get it. I heard alot of hmmm... and just confused what they could have possibly ordered. Not a total loss but we were smarter next time. I guess next time it would have been better to really read over Yelp reviews then just run to the nearest restaurant.

Average italian dishes. Spaghetti Alla Carbonara was bor extra ordinary, but it was decent! A sell as their lasagne and spaghetti alla bolognese.

We ordered the 2.6 lb dry aged Florentine steak and gnocchi. The Florentine steak is a must try steak here. It was very juicy, tender, and it was bursting with flavor. The meat was nice and chewy. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. The cheesecake is very famous in this restaurant. We tried it and understand why. The cheesecake was super creamy and soft. I had a great time and experience here. Definitely will be back sometime soon hopefully. This is a place I highly recommend to everyone. Come and try it out for yourselves.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

The atmosphere alone is worth a visit, but the food is what truly makes it exceptional. We ordered the ravioli, pappardelle with wild boar ragù, the Florentine steak, a mixed salad, affogato, and fresh strawberries with mascarpone cream. To drink, we shared a small carafe of red wine and a Pinot Grigio. Everything was spectacular. The Florentine steak was easily the best--and largest--I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and remarkably tender, it was the highlight of an already outstanding meal. The pappardelle with boar ragù was rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying, while the ravioli was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Every dish felt authentic, carefully executed, and memorable. The wine was another pleasant surprise. Both selections were excellent and very reasonably priced, making the meal feel like an even better value. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. He patiently answered questions, explained the menu, and guided us toward some fantastic choices. Although we thought we were too full for dessert, we're very glad we changed our minds. The affogato was fantastic, and the strawberries with mascarpone cream were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of the evening was watching our four-year-old happily clutching two spoons and enthusiastically scooping fresh strawberries and mascarpone into his mouth. It was one of those memorable family travel moments that you don't forget. A terrific meal, a unique historic setting, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. This was one of our favorite dining experiences in Florence, and I highly recommend it.

Were ordered a bottle of Chianti Classico to start, as well as a few pastas plus the steak and cod. I can safely say the spaghetti pomodoro with burrata was the best pasta dish I've had in Italy - the pasta was perfectly cooked and the cherry tomatoes was so sweet, the kind of thing that reminds you why you came to Italy in the first place. Overall: great service, great atmosphere, and fantastic food. Just be sure to make a reservation!!

I went to the internet for the best Florentine steak and Trattoria Mario consistently popped up as highly rated. I reached out to the restaurant via email to make a reservation for a Friday. I wanted to get the earliest reservation possible, so the restaurant reserved me for 7:30pm, which was when they open. I was advised to show up on time - even a 2 minute delay would make me miss my reservation. I can see why Trattoria Mario was strict on reservations. They open on the dot, and then a staff member calls out each reservation at 7:30pm like a roll call. Seemed to me that if you don't have a reservation then you're out of luck, because there was no waitlist and the restaurant small and space was limited. Service was great. Our waitress was highly attentive and got us in/out of the restaurant quickly, which was what we were going for. Food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the penne al ragu, salad misto, and a Florentine steak to share. The penne was perfectly al dente, and I liked the meat sauce. I did find the pasta sauce salty, but it could've came from the grated parmesan. The saltiness was not a fluke. The Florentine steak was just pure beef and a ton of salt... too much salt for my liking. I also decided that I'm not a fan of Florentine steak in general.

Back in the…read morestates, I always get strange reactions from the waiters when I order my steak "as rare as possible." That is what I was expecting in Italy. Am I the only one that thought steak florentine was supposed to be served this way? Maybe that's was my mistake but I thought that's how it was prepared in Florence. Anyways, I was immediately suspicious when our waitress asked how we would like our steak cooked and her suggestions were medium or medium well. Uhhhh what? That goes against everything I believe in! The steak came out on a hot stone slab on top of a wooden box. The slab obviously continued to cook the steak so I immediately took off a few pieces to prevent this. The steak was thick and tender with chunks of large salt grains. It looked nice all sliced up but that's where the compliments end. It lacked flavor and ended up cooking to be more medium rare when I grabbed my pieces and then even medium by the time my dad grabbed his second slice. Our waitress seemed annoyed when we asked for the truffle sauce to accompany our steak (my dad forgot to ask for it when we placed our original order) and walked away with a huff to go grab it. The fries came out cold and limp with flavorless truffle shavings on top. I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews. Maybe it got too big for its britches and the quality has declined? The one saving grace was the crema bruciata! And the very understanding hostess who gladly pushed our reservation from 7:30 to 8:00pm due to travel difficulties. Whatever the reason, this place definitely missed the mark. You can't walk three steps without seeing a steakhouse here in Florence. My recommendation? Try one of those.

While everything we ordered was delicious, nothing at Trattoria Giovanni felt like a dish you couldn't find elsewhere... and honestly, that's perfectly fine! It was traditional, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. The plate of cured meats and cheese was phenomenal, a great start to the meal. The pastas were really good as well, though one of the meat dishes had a slightly off texture, with the chunks of meat a bit overcooked.
