The people here are very friendly and helpful, I know very little about this type of dessert arena but everyone is kind and patient as I stumble through my order. Danville Chocolates offer a vast assortment of chocolates and other sweet little goodies. The firs time I came here I had the chocolate covered marshmellows, smores, truffle, the grizzly, an almond nut cluster, fudge, and their version of a peanut butter cup. The grizzly was really good (chocolate, nuts and caramel! yum!). The truffles were very decadent and melted so easily in my mouth. The chocolate covered smore is just like a smore but unfortunately the mellow isn't melted, but it's just as good. I've had their rocky road and that is worth giving a try also. And how can you not like a chocolate covered strawberry! I would pass on the fudge, peanut butter cup and chocolate covered marshmellow...they weren't as good as their other stuff. In a word, just terrific! (Yeah yeah two words so I can't count). The dark chocolate covered apples with sea salt are to die for, no, not the one in Disney's Snow White. These, like everything else at Danville Chocolates are simply the best and my wife and I are especially pleased to see the business has survived all the craziness of the lockdowns. If I was Mary See, I'd be worried. The staff is very helpful by answering questions about their products and making suggestions as well. BTW, I've also read dark chocolate has health benefits so enjoy some super terrific chocolates. read more

They have great tasting candied apples and friendly staff. Chocolates however were very average. I tried a variety of chocolates from truffles to clusters and was not impressed at all. Sees chocolates taste better than this. I would not return unless I really wanted a candied apple. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my chocolate dipped frozen banana with nuts (thank you, $1 off yelp check-in coup) breakfast while watching Danville moms hard at work jogging past the chocolate shop. Danville Chocolates is doing amazingly well with being careful with Covid 19. I'm pleased to say they allow phone orders and credit card payment over the phone. One door is designated for entering, with a large pump bottle of hand sanitizer available, and the other door is for exiting. You can be in and out in less than 30 seconds and grab your order from the counter. All employees are wearing masks. The chocolate treats are delicious! Our family loves Danville Chocolates and I certainly hope they can stay open during these trying times! Delicious truffles, honeycomb, mud pie chocolate, etc. Their "Apple Pie Apples" are the best ever. And the white chocolate with fresh raspberries is delicious (and I say this being a dark chocolate lover)! I highly recommend for a treat, celebration or special occasion. read more

Tough to give a 5-star review to a "treat shop" but they definitely deserve 4! Great quality products, excellent service. My only complaint is they occasionally are out of stock of some items that I like and so I make a trip in for no reason... or worse yet, I buy something else and get a new item to add to my list of favorites (HATE this!) =) The only problem I've ever had here was near Christmas when they stored the Peppermint Bark in the same cabinet as the other chocolates and everything had a 'peppermint first' taste... this wasn't great with white chocolate caramels or peanut butter fudge for sure =P Definitely more pricey than See's- but you'd have to expect that with the selection and non-factory feel of this place. read more

They carry a wide variety of chocolates and other candies. They also have caramel apples and chocolate covered frozen bananas that my family loves. I'm offended of the four star reviews... what are they thinking?! Rocky Mountain and Godiva have NOTHING on this place (except that rocky mountain carries my favorite type of apple, english toffee). But besides the point.. I was in a dilemma. I needed to pick up a birthday gift for my boyfriend's mom and seriously what can you get a person who can pretty much get or already have everything they could possible want (or something you could afford). So I googled when I ran into chocolate covered fruits. I thought what a great idea! But where can I go besides rocky mountain and godiva? Thank goodness for yelp because I yelped "chocolate covered" in my current location and being that I work in Danville, Danville Chocolates popped up. I took a look at their pictures on yelp and was impressed by the cute designs of their chocolate covered strawberries. Rather than just the normal plain drizzle you see, they had swirly designs and circles. So I gave them a call first thing they opened to see if they are special ordered. Well, yes they are special ordered and needed to be ordered one day ahead. However the woman on the phone was so kind and was willing to get them ready for me in three hours and even offered to add color. At this point I'm already impressed with their impeccable customer service, but it gets even better! This store is bigger than the rocky mountains and godivas in the area and have a huge selection of chocolates to choose from!!! Truffles, Chocolate covered fruits and candies OH MY! They were even FRIENDLIER in the store, very attentive and helpful and I like how I asked what was the most "peanut buttery goodness" to get for my bf and he was like "right here" and gave me a chocolate covered peanut butter pretzel. I also picked up a chocolate covered caramel marshmallow for myself... yummyyy... along with the chocolate strawberries and raspberry bark and chocolate covered cherries as gifts. I got all my goodies under $40 (which was right around what I was planning on spending). They even wrapped up my boxes of chocolates with a ribbon! I FREAKIN LOVE this place and will definitely return!! I can't wait to try their apples.. I think I'm gonna try the white chocolate with cinnamon next time I go! They could have better service, but I guess it's not necessary on Mother's Day when there's a captive audience. When they opened shop at 11 am, there were people already waiting outside including myself. The workers didn't direct people on how to line up, which was really frustrating for me. I asked a worker if I could purchase a couple prepackaged boxes and got an eye roll, probably bc I wasn't in the undirected line no one knew about, which I had been waiting outside before most of the other people in the store. This place does a great job making their own sweets, chocolates and all sorts of deliciously interesting combinations of anything else! I heart caramel dipped apples and tried two of their seasonal thanksgiving ones. They prepare their own hand dipped bananas and apples. The hand dipped apples had everything that makes one good. I first fell in love with this chocolate when my boyfriend would buy them for me to share a piece of his hometown and satisfy my sweet tooth. Now that I live in the area, I get to enjoy this charming shop at my leisure. The location is ideal with parking around the corner and a prime location next to other shops downtown. When I step into the shop, I'm always delighted by the ever changing selection of handmade chocolates and goodies. If I'm lucky, there are bits of raspberry white chocolate bark to sample, one of my favorites. I favor the boxes of truffles because I never know what I'm going to get. Each one feels lovingly crafted, and I often grab some as gifts. (In fact, I now get complaints if I show up without these chocolates.) Let me start by saying we absolutely love Danvulle chocolates and go here almost once a week and for every occasion to get treats. However, lately it's so unfortunate that the service has been poor, at best. I went all the way to Danville and when I got there they only if you Halloween things left, so I grabbed them up. I stood at the counter without help for about five minutes. There were about eight workers busily Working on chocolates and special orders. Finally, the woman ( I believe is the owner) asked one of the girls to help me. She began ringing me up, so I thought, for about a minute. Finally she gives me a large total and I told her that isn't my order. She said oh sorry, and then turned around and went back to what she was doing, working on someone else's order. She never asked if I need anything else or proceeded to ring me up for what I had in my hands. Meanwhile two other older, well-dressed women walked in and were instantly helped. I was in my disheveled Sunday morning look. I'd like to think this is a one off, but my coworker who I turned on to Danville chocolates, who also goes there frequently, has had bad experiences. Experiences where the young ladies are having trouble making gifts and the owner again just sort of snaps at them or ignores them. Offering them no help. It's so unfortunate. I get that they're busy with special orders and they are extremely busy in general and may be short staffed,But customers are walking in and being ignored.
