The cash price was 6.50, but if you needed to use a credit card you would've paid eight dollars, we called ahead so we knew to bring cash :-) The theater was decorated with pretty holiday trees and lights. The weather has taken a turn for the colder these past few days Hence i borrowed moms down parka before we headed to the theater. I was the only one in my party who actually stayed warm throughout the show because the place was barely heated it seemed. we all wore our hats gloves and coats the whole time. my dad was freezing when we left and my fiancés toes were numb! otherwise four stars for sure. there were plenty of seats and a balcony also, it was a very nice inside, recently renovated. I would definitely return again to see a production or another film. Bring your layers :-)

I've visited miniatures museums all over the U.S., and this is by far my favorite one. What I loved…read moreabout it: * The stories. The museum is divided into 4 sections (history, a small town circa 1900, a replica of nearby Shaker Village, and a fantasy section), and the curator has written brief storylines and fun facts for each dollhouse. So you're not just looking at standalone houses like in most dollhouse museums. Instead, you're following a narrative. And the curator has done a great job with these; they're really interesting. She staged a standard 19th century dollhouse as an Underground Railroad station, with an escaped slave doll climbing into an attic and another hiding in a closet while the white dolls hurry to greet a visitor. * The humor. The curator has staged delightful scenes. One dollhouse has an overwhelmed nanny outside while inside you see scenes of chaos - struck matches, a boy dying eggs and the cat. Another has a bride fretting over being late to her own reception while at the reception hall, the servers gossip and complain in the kitchen. * The creativity and incredible detail. There are scenes here I've never seen portrayed in a miniatures museum. In tribute to local history, there's a tobacco warehouse and a coal mine surrounded by miners' shacks and a company store (along with info on the harsh conditions of the workers in real life). The town area has a bad part of town, with empty stores that have decaying fronts and ones that have upper floor tenement apartments with residents living in small spaces and doing laundry and sewing for a living. There's a sweatshop with female dolls hunched over sewing machines and male dolls in suits lounging in an office. * The racial and socioeconomic diversity. Dollhouse and miniatures museums usually show only white dolls in fancy houses. I never thought about this until I saw the diversity of the dolls here. When I complimented the curator on this, she said it's something they're very intentional about while also trying to be realistic about the time period. So the early 1900-era dollhouses show black people mostly as servers and nannies, but there's also a freeman living on a small farm with his family. And the Shaker Village replica has lots of black dolls because the Shakers believed in racial equality and welcomed escaped and freed slaves. There's also a modern bougie scene of a pool and patio, and a black woman and her daughter are lounging beside it. * The size. This museum is huge. I spent 3 full hours there. * The thoughtful layout. There are benches and chairs throughout the exhibits for when you need a break. The layout is curving and has a great cave-like tunnel entrance to the fantasy area that must delight kids. * The array and quality of the miniatures and scenes.

Note: you can do any part of this before or after your brunch reservation, within the hours of the event. Which in 2026 was 10-2. There are 2 places to park: one by the welcome center and one by the restaurant /trustees table. It seemed if you had brunch reservations you parked by the restaurant side. Accessibility wise: they have a lot of accommodations but it's not perfect. There's a big-ish hill from parking to the restaurant, but the rest was mostly flat with tiny gravel and white chalky dust. People do dress from play wear to nice, but I'd recommend shoes you are okay with getting dusty. The farm part: There are pony rides: $5 extra per ride. My kids loved this and it was worth it. A craft area also (these were set up in front of the trustees table). Coordinated games were a little farther up. The farm is past the restaurant and they had: 2 sheep / lamb stations, goats and kids, 2 Clydesdales, a mom cow and calf, 2 pigs, turkeys/ducks/roosters, baby ducks, baby chicks. They had story telling, lamb shearing. Face paint for $10. A seed and plant thing we didn't explore. Some play areas. And of course all the grounds! It was really great! Our toddler and baby loved it! Our toddler can't sit still for stories and demos yet, but was thrilled with the animal variety and experiences. Note: there is a big sand pit we strategically avoided, but I'd imagine your kids would get dirtier in there. I was worried how much time it would take us, I'd say about an hour. I think if you're wanting to do stories and demos maybe closer to an hour and a half to 2 hours. The total event is 4 hours. This is just a note for anyone planning breakfast before, during, or after. Brunch with babies: I think the value was good. It was a buffet with: bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, gravy, grits, cooked apples, waffles, and cereal. They delivered 1 biscuit and pumpkin muffin per person with butter and jam to the table. There were people scooping, but I assume you could get more. The grits and sausage were so good. I don't even normally like sausage. The biscuit and jam were so good too. All the food was delicious. I saw someone trash talk the breakfast buffet in an another review, but every bite I ate was good. I just came back from Disney, this was above the standard breakfast buffet in quality. IF you are wanting a relaxing, DINKS or retired experience, I'd look at the calendar before booking. Some of the adults seemed overwhelmed by kids near them, and on this date, the restaurant was FULL with kids.

To be fair, according to Drink Ky, they have a vineyard that is not open to the public, but the winery page on Yelp takes you to the tasting room. So...I think my expectations left me a little disappointed. I still love drinking wine and I wasn't going to say no, but I thought we were going somewhere else. That said, the space is lovely. A nice retail area, brightly lit and clean. The bar area isn't extensive, but large enough to seat a couple of small groups. We sat at the end of the bar and were greeted quickly by the guy working. He explained the tasting options. Flights range from $5-$8, and you get three generous pours or your selection of wines or sangrias. I opted for the wine flight option. My selections were the Vidal, Sweet Jessamine Rose, and Sweet Riverbend Red. They were alright, nothing that made me want to buy a bottle. Apparently they are in the midst of a special offer for a free fondue plate with two tastings. That was a nice surprise! The flights come served on a barrel stave. It is a nice idea, but it is a little unstable. We both thought it was a little funny when the music that was playing switched to "Get Low" and some other club-like music. The fella liked it, I kinda killed the ambiance for me. If you are shopping at the mall in Lexington, and need a lil' wine time, Chrisman is a good option. If you want to go to a winery...this will probably disappoint you some as well.

It's more of a mall shop where you can also do tastings of their wine. Parking is plentiful. You have to keep in mind... you're at a mall! There are plenty of spaces and as long as you're not a pampered person that needs the closest spot, you'll be just fine. The guy working greeted us right away. They have a few different flights but none are over 8 dollars. Each flight gives you three generous pours. No complaints there at all. While we were drinking our wine, music was playing. It was a mix that fit the store perfectly. It was us, another couple, the worker guy and another worker girl that came out. At one point we started to hear, "Three, six, nine, damn you're fine. Move it till you sock it to me one more time" Yes! You guessed it... skeet skeet skeet. We noticed it right away. I said, "This is the unedited version too. Awesome!" The girl working noticed it right away and started laughing. It was funny but the guy working went ahead and changed the song. I understand that if the wrong crowd heard that song, it would stir up controversy. In my opinion, if they can't take a little skeet in their ears, then they probably shouldn't be drinking wine. My flight consisted of dry wines. The Norton, Norton Reserve, and Firefly. The Norton Reserve was my favorite of the three. Easily drinkable but I'm not sure if I'd need to buy a bottle or not. Our tasting also came with a fondue board. That's a nice little perk that we weren't expecting. When it comes down to it, this place is brilliant and more malls should lease to tasting rooms. For all the people that don't like to shop with their family, significant others or children... walk down to the winery and drink for a few hours. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but if you're already in the congested mall area of Lexington... go ahead and stop in.
