This is the second time that I have used Danzco. We had them refinish our hardwood floors on two levels in our previous home. They did such a fantastic job that I didn't consider calling anyone else when we wanted to refinish the floors in our new home. I wasn't sure that the floors were hardwood, and if so, whether they could be refinished. Grace Manger went the extra mile to help me find that out, and helped me get a prompt visit from Dan. They did the work very quickly, on time and so well that I wouldn't have known that they were in our home, but for the beautifully refinished floors. The work exceeded our expectations. Danzco was recommended by a good friend, who I know would only except perfection. Dan, the owner, came to do an estimate. He seemed like a straight up guy. I was quoted a fair price that was consistent with my other 2 estimates. The estimate included hardwood floors in my family room, on my steps, and in the upstairs hallway. Also, they would put on baseboard and shoe molding, sand and seal the floors, and then apply 2 coats of oil based polyurethane. I was away on vacation when the men came to do the work. When I came home (late Saturday evening) I was appalled at the sloppy job that was done. I immediately called Dan and left him a text message. He came out Monday morning. He seemed pretty upset about the work that was done. He said he would come back and fix everything. The following problems needed to be fix: 1. the baseboard molding: none of the corners touched, some of the baseboard was cut to short and there was a broken piece. 2. The polyurethane coating: it was clumpy in some areas 3. The transition pieces: a number of them were cracked and they never put a transition piece between the hallway and my bathroom 4. Chips and gaps: a number of the floor boards were chipped and there were major gaps between some of the boards 5. The steps: These were a disaster. There were gaps between the steps and risers, many of the wood pieces were cut to short. They used a non matching orange wood putty to fill in mistakes and also used white caulk (which was not approved for use on wood floors). Dan and his son came out for 2 days to try and fix it. They fixed most of the molding, however one piece they cut was cracked in half and we had to glue it back together and the molding inside the upstairs closet still does not look right. They replaced 2 transition pieces and installed a transition piece between the bathroom and hallway. They fixed some of the gaps on the floors, but used a darker wood putty that did not match the color of my floor. The steps still had gaps and looked awful. My husband and I had to spend two days fixing the steps, putting putty in the gaps, staining the putty to match the floors, then applying two coats of oil based polyurethane on the steps and entire upstairs hallway. After our hard work they look ok, but are not perfect. The entire process was extremely stressful and very time consuming for my husband and myself. It cost us time, money, and a great deal of personal stress. All of this could have been avoided if we went with another company I would never recommend Danzco and suggest that you choose another company. read more

They were here 3 days refinishing the floors. The first day they were professional, asking me to seal up the doors upstairs and cleaning up after. The second day I wasn't around and the doors were never shut so dust got everywhere but they did clean up some. The third day they seemed to just not care anymore because they were 3 hours late, made more of a mess, didn't clean it up, and left the house without telling me. I still don't know if they are to come back. Overall, the finished product was OK but I've seen better. This is a fine example of how small businesses fail. From beginning to end, the customer should experience complete satisfaction in the work they paid for. This includes the professionalism of the workers, which is part of the finished product. If you can be sure that no mistakes or accidents will occur while Danzco is on site, they are the way to go. However, the way they handled a minor mishap is why I'm writing this less than stellar review and why I do NOT recommend them. Dan came out to do the estimate, was super friendly and answered all our questions. Grace scheduled the project and was nothing but understanding when we had to reschedule several times due to Covid concerns. We requested and were billed the optional furniture removal services provided by Danzco prior to the beginning of the job. The crew moved all of the furniture out except for two pieces (!). It's probably no surprise to you that floor glue and stain ended up damaging a couch that was left unmoved. We were not informed of the damage and discovered it days after it occurred. I called Grace to see what we could do about the stains on the couch. I was expecting an apology and maybe even an offer to have the couch cleaned since this accident would not have happened had the furniture been removed as ordered and expected. Instead, Grace claimed that it is "normal procedure" to not remove some furniture. Why did I pay for furniture moving then? She also stated that "we don't even like to move furniture" and "per the contract we are not responsible for damage to furniture". Any literate being that reads the sentence she's referring to in the contract will interpret that the company is not responsible for damage to furniture WHILE it is being moved. But according to Grace's interpretation of the contract, the crew can do whatever they want to your furniture while on site and Danzco is not responsible. Obviously I was not going to get any accountability or damage control from Grace so I asked that Dan take a look at the couch because he was going to pick up payment anyway (Also strange, why can't I pay via mail or credit card? But, anyway). Dan claims he can get the glue out of the couch so he scrubs at it for an hour. (No apology). He tells us that it will look better when it dries and he leaves without mentioning or collecting payment. Minutes later, Grace calls me and asks why I haven't paid. I haven't paid because Dan walked out the door while the couch was sopping wet. At this point I don't even understand what the woman is saying because she is screaming at me about the contract and not being responsible for any damage. She also called me defensive and that I was not listening to her. Funny that. She yelled over me for several minutes, so I hung up the phone on her. Dan returns and demands his full payment stating that the couch will be fine "when it's dry". After the same back and forth, he reluctantly agreed to accept 90% of the fee and collect the remaining 10% after the couch is verified to be fine. Spoiler: The couch is not fine and he is not returning my texts. So, if you go with Danzco you may get to enjoy your pretty new floors on damaged furniture after trying desperately to have civil conversations with a bunch of people who don't know anything about accountability. read more

Danzco did a great job on our floors! They refinished and stained existing floors and installed floors in two additional rooms in our house. The floors look entirely new, it is very hard to tell which floors are the original and which ones are the new floors. Great service crew, very respectful of our home ans cleaned up daily messes that occurred. The job was completed correctly and quickly. I believe their prices are very fair and they stayed within the estimated budget. I would highly recommend Danzco for your flooring needs. read more

Grace and Dan are great people to talk to. This is the level of communication and respect needed for a successful project. Quality has a cost. Just remember you will look at your floors every day. If you get a cheaper contractor, you may regret it after the price is forgotten. read more
