Most of them looked the same online--clean fades, generic reviews--and I was about to give up and call KG when I stumbled across Leon's Barbershop. What caught my eye was a photo of the storefront, with the word "barbershop" written in Farsi on the sign. That alone made me pick up the phone. A gentleman answered quickly, and after a brief conversation, I was on my way. When I walked in, I was struck by how tidy and well-kept the space was. Just as I was about to take a seat, I noticed Leon carefully cleaning his clippers with alcohol, something I hadn't seen at any other barbershop. It instantly gave me a sense of trust. I hung my jacket on the wall-mounted hook and sat down; my haircut had officially begun. Right away, we started talking, and I was drawn into Leon's story. It didn't feel like I was getting a haircut; it felt like I was catching up with an old family friend or my uncle. As he skillfully worked through each section of my hair, I found myself lost in his calm wisdom. By the end, I wasn't just happy with my cut, I was genuinely grateful for the experience. Just a low fade that's it. I ended up getting a high and tight fade and he used the clippers on my stubble and left it all uneven on my face. The fade was 4/10 but wasn't even the type of fade I asked for. Completely did his own style and nothing what I asked for at all!

Competitive prices, and friendly staff. But how about the cuts? Well, the evening I stopped in, the owner and two of the barbers were in. One is an award winning barber, Angela (IG: alwayzshine_doll), who was wrapping up a pretty tight fade on a young music producer. Owner Oscar was finishing off a pretty cool cut on a young guy, animated conversation while he carefully crafted some fine lines. My cut came out really sweet--tight on the sides, a nice straight perfect part, long on top, and even a trim on my mustache and beard!
