Choose from a sushi roll selection or other small appetizers like coconut shrimp or potstickers. 3. Cocktail menu is quite extensive 4. For dinner: choose combos of steak chicken or shrimp or filet. Then you upgrade steamed white rice for fried rice (which I recommend) 5. All choices come with a fat noodle chow mein, which is delicious 6 you can also choose dessert but I passed because it was very filling 7. I've only been to Daruma twice, but this is by far my most favorite Japanese steakhouse. The interior of the restaurant was nice, and the staff were friendly. Both of my cooks were energetic and welcoming. When it comes down to food, the reason why everything is so delicious is because they cook it with.... GARLIC BUTTER. Everything is so delicious and portions are so large that you can have it for lunch and dinner. Lunch prices are definitely worth it, imo. Haven't tried dinner yet. We were in Columbus and after going to CAM International Market, saw this was just down the street. We opted for sushi instead if the tepppanyaki table because the portions we saw were HUGE and neither of us can eat like that anymore. Plus were a little over an hour from home. We ordered the Dreams rolls, yin and yang, eel and cucumber roll and the flaming lobster. All was pretty good, but the seasoning on the top of the lobster was a bit different. Not bad, just different. Nice size rolls, all very fresh, and the sushi chef stopped by to see if we enjoyed his personal creation-- the flaming lobster roll. If we were in area, we would stop by again but it's not a place we'd just come this far to eat. read more

This isn't the best hibachi I've ever had but it is respectable. All the food was your typical hibachi experience and the place looked the part. Our chef was excellent and the prices seemed standard. All in all if you've ever had hibachi of any sort this should hit the spot. It's not the world's best but it also gets the job done right. The service was excellent and many other grill tables seemed to enjoy their experience. I'm only giving a 4 because it was a good time and experience but certainly didn't offer anything bold or new to your standard hibachi experience. read more

The food was excellent. Came here with a few friends the other night, and they were very accommodating of us. Most of us had hibachi, and the guy cooking was alot of fun. I was impressed by the quality of the food and by how willing they were to accommodate a large party. As far as hibachi goes these restaurants are all very similar, but Daruma is a bit better than usual because theirs includes noodles and extra vegetables. It was very good and the service was friendly and attentive. I would recommend going early because it does seem a bit crowded at night. read more

Even though we walked in a half hour before closing on a Sunday evening, we were given the best service...we did not feel rushed. I usually do not eat the soup, but it is so good! The rice, noodles, vegetables, and meats are of very high quality. It's clear the ownership takes pride in sourcing the best ingredients. Even noticeable in the eggs, unlike the pale yellow eggs usually found in most restaurants, these yolks are deep orange in color. Very impressed with this Japanese Steakhouse. We came here for dinner Sat night based on the great Yelp reviews. They reopen for dinner at 4:30 and we arrived shortly after. We chose hibachi seating and were seated on one end. There was a family of 4 at the other end of the grill. Our hostess was sweet, our server was nice and attentive. The chef was friendly and cool. He did a couple of tricks without going overboard. My husband had the steak and calamari combo, while I chose the King Salmon. The food is really good. It includes a salad, soup, and shrimp appetizer (which was grilled and served last for some reason). We each had a large bottled Japanese beer, which was a mistake because I couldn't finish it or my meal. The noodles were grilled first and they were fantastic. The fried rice and the vegetables were great, as well as the salmon. The yum yum sauce was a nice alternative to sakura sauce that I love at another place in town. Everything was cooked really well and we enjoyed it enough to return. For $20 you get a large, delicious meal. By the time we left, the hibachi seats were filling up so I'm glad we went early. Went to Daruma on a drippy Monday night, the place was less than 20% full. I was dinning alone so I was able to sit at the sushi bar. Upon sitting down I was immediately greeted by an Asian gal and she grabs me a water and the menus. A regular there says that this is his favorite, and points out the gal that was helping me was the owner of the place. I placed my order with the sushi chef and very shortly after came a nice house salad. Minutes later a miso-like soup. The soup was no sooner in front of me and my sushi order was up. I ordered a Spicy Tuna, Hawaii and a Passion Roll. All the rolls were very nicely arranged and presented on a single plate. The owner came back immediately to check to make sure everything was good. All of the rolls were very well made, great flavours. Some places go on the cheap and use nori in the rolls that is just chewy. Daruma uses good quality nori so you aren't trying to tear your sushi roll with your teeth. After I was finished, the owner came back and asked if there was anything else I needed. It wasn't just the owner that would come and check on me. The sushi chef and another server would circle past me. Absolutely no complaints about service in this place. Overall, service was excellent, food was very good and the selection on the menu almost too much. I like this place and will have to return again ! read more

This place has become my FAVORITE go-to for hibachi!! They also have really good sushi. They start you off with your basic soup and salad that somehow demolishes that of other hibachi places. I love Hibachi cooking. And I have tried everyone one of the Columbus area "Japanese" steakhouses (usually owned by Koreans or Vietnamese, not Japanese). My favorite of all is Daruma in Hilliard. Very clean, great shrimp (pawns)! Loved the way they cooked lobster too. I dislike bean sprouts, but Daruma uses noodles instead. While some Hibachi places use small shrimp, Daruma uses larger prawns which were EXCELLENT. I strongly recommend Daruma in Hilliard. read more

Please don't give this restaurant your business, as I was treated pretty poorly and have ordered from this place many times. The last three times, they have gotten my order wrong. The last time, was the worst and that is what finally prompted me to want to warn others. Don't order through their website, especially for a delivery. I received the wrong meals last night, packaged wrong (they packed the bag with the wrong food, put my ticket on it). When I contacted them, they first tried to blame DoorDash and don't seem to understand their own delivery system and that a customer can order delivery THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE. They then contracted out DoorDash drivers to deliver the food, not in-house delivery drivers. So, that means when there's an issue, they can't deliver your order or correct it. First, I was passed around to 4 different people because apparently no one understand what "You messed up my order, please fix it, I can't eat this." means. I don't eat red meat, and that was all that was delivered. They said if I wanted my correct order, I would have to drive there and pick it up from them (and forfeit my delivery fee). When I said I couldn't leave my wife who just had surgery, they said all they could do was a refund. BUT even that couldn't be handled until "today or tomorrow" when a manager would "call me about this issue". Today, I find out that they charged my card TWICE for this dinner. One accurate amount and one inaccurate one. Both are charged to me. So, they charged me twice, delivered someone else's dinner, and didn't refund me. Please don't order from this place. They treated and talked to me like I didn't matter and I was charged over $150 for a dinner that I have not received. I will be getting a refund or calling my credit card company to dispute all charges. Likely the latter, because I don't want to deal with this place and their disrespect and mishandling of the simplest of customer service issues. read more
