Sauerbraten with sauerkraut and spätzle. Tasty!

As the years pass, this place remains excellent. Having lived in Germany for 3 years, this place is the gold standard of German food in the Greater Cleveland area. Service is always good and the setting is cozy. Nothing here is frozen and reheated. Everything is done the old fashioned way. If you are craving German food (as well as Balkan!), this is a must visit!

I heard Cleveland is known for Chicken Paprikash and this restaurant is known for it. Came on a Monday night and it was pretty busy. I was able to get a table pretty quickly though. The inside has a full bar as well. When looking through the menu there was a lot I wanted as they are also known for their Wienerschnitzel as well. Fortunately the waitress offered me the option of getting Wienerschnitzel with the Paprikash gravy. Food came out fast and was very good. I was also very happy with the portion size.Unfortunately I had no space for dessert.

A German restaurant that serves a variety of schnitzel dishes. It was busy while we were there, but we were waited on quickly. Our waiter was very attentive. We sat inside, but there is an enclosed patio as well. The food was fantastic. I didn't think I would enjoy it so much. The prices are on the higher end, but the food and service are excellent.

Went here Christmas Eve for Dad's bday dinner before church. Our group of 7 was seated in the party house next to the main building. LOVED the coziness and holiday decor. Wonderful atmosphere. It could seat several other largish parties, too. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the Deutsche Platte, basically a German sampler platter. If you are unsure what to order and eat meat, this is a great option. Only slight miss was that our server could have mentioned that my son's lamb shank would take 20 minutes. We were a bit time-limited; we also should have mentioned that to our server when we sat down. Not a big deal and we were enjoying our company.

Borden K was very friendly & patient waiter!!! He kept up the best he could!! Very clean place with nice wall decorations!!! Restrooms are small, but very clean!!! Parking is limited!!! Calamari was delicately fried to buttery perfection with a lemon creamy sauce. Chicken paprikash had big chunks of moist chicken and a wonderful sauce with a side of buttery soft spaetzle. The liver dumpling soup was wonderfully savory with two nice liver dumplings within. Lovely service and delicious hefeweizen too!

Das Schneitzal Haus is a favorite in Parma! Authentic food and atmosphere, you're sure to walk out with a full belly and great service. Their menu has changed recently, with less options, but it looks like they still have all their house specialities. The previous menu was a whole book, and I get overwhelmed when presented with too many options. Food- If you're a meat lover and want to try a variety of items, the Wurste Platte is for you! Honestly, it's enough for 2 people to share. It contains Bratwurst, Knockwurst and Hungarian Sausage. Served with 2 pierogies, caramelized onions and sauerkraut. Beer- Locally brewed and homemade! Goes great to wash down dinner!! Parking- it's hidden, but parking is also available in the rear of the restaurant!

Lets just say I liked it the last time i went there. What a happened? Two Chances, the first take out was wrong order drove back there took back and got the right order, but food not so good after all tonight, very disappointed they hung up on me when I called.

I have been here a few times in as many years. I haven't had a bad experience at any visit. The waitress is always friendly. Some days are busier than others. And you have to expect longer service delays. But that's not a problem for good tasting food. This place is located on pearl road just north of snow road. It's in a very easy to get into and out location. I was told they have a brewery across the street. But I have never been to it.

Thursday, November 16, 2023 Das Schnitzel Haus tastes like childhood. From the food, to the drinks, to the atmosphere. Such comforting food. The sauerkraut is phenomenal. A MUST when you're in town.

This was visit the family had to do per our mother/wife. You approach the building and then walk inside and you can really feel the German pride at Das Schnitzel Haus. We go there a little after them opening and there already a good number folks in already. As time went on, it really started getting packed, which had you feeling that was bound to be really good. Ashley was our server. Very cheerful and was aware of dietary restrictions because the menu is not labeled but the kitchen can make adjustments for a few dishes. I selected the baked walleye, gluten free with no breading. A good sized filet of walleye and it was cooked so well with the spices and garlic butter. I really liked the green beans with the garlic flavor. The potato salad looks like au gratin potatoes but it doesn't have the taste. Definitely a bit of a shock to me. A had a little bit of it, my mom really loved it so she's getting the leftovers! My parents got their own wurst plattes. A bratwurst, knockwurst and a Hungarian sausage. Sizable links for sure. Really good and strong flavor on each. My brother got the burger with french fries (at a German restaurant, but whatever). It was well complemented with the cheese, German spice blend and toppings. One small negative was the patty size was much smaller than what we're accustomed to having. Overall, still good he said. Overall, really enjoyed my time there. It sure seemed like everyone else was too. Danke Schoen Das Schnitzel Haus!

The staff is friendly. The service was very slow. The portion size on one of the meals was not worth the price. They did have a nice menu selection.

It was my first visit to Das Schnitzel Haus. The food was spot on! Everything was quite good and authentic (we were just in Germany this summer). I had sauerbraten, spaetzle and German potato salad. I loved it all and was so happy to have leftovers. My son loved his kase schnitzel. My mom said the paprikash was excellent. We were seated in what seemed like is maybe a porch in the summer. So not in the main restaurant. It was quieter than the main restaurant but by the end of the evening we felt kind of isolated and a bit chilly. We arrived on time for our 6:45 reservation. We ordered by 7 and didn't get our meals until about 8 pm. I'm not certain why the delay. Not being in the main restaurant we couldn't tell if they were understaffed or overcrowded or if there was an issue. It did seem others who arrived after us left before us, so perhaps there was a glitch. We didn't get any appetizers. Their kolsch Beer was tasty. All in all we loved everything and the server was kind and helpful and efficient but the wait time (with no explanation) was a downer.

They were so good. The krauts had this crunchiness and you could tell they made them fresh there. For entrees, I got myself schweinshaxe and my partner got pork schnitzel. The schweinshaxe was a huge pork shank with krauts. The pork shank was so slow cooked so it was super tender and flavorful. It was so good. I wished they added a bit more krauts to it. I couldn't finish it at all cause it was just so much. There was bread pudding to the dish. I guessed because of the savory and sourness of the krauts and pork shank. They needed to add some sweetness by introducing bread pudding. The bread pudding was very yummy. My partner enjoyed his pork schnitzel. He said Das Schnitzel Haus made it better but this came in a very close second. Overall, we love their menu since they offer something different. The menu would be perfect if they have potato pancakes.

This place is an experience; this is their main production facility, which also has a huge bar and restaurant space. It's so well planned; sit wherever, order food at one place, beer at another. They have bar seating, big and small tables, high tops, etc. Even with all the variety, it was still pleasantly loud and busy. At the entrance, you can go to the merchandise area, which is big. They have all their canned selections ready and cold to go as well. To the left of the bar is a self-guided tour hallway, where you can see a lot of the brewery and their huge wall of major beer awards from over the decades. We sat at a high top near the bar; the bartender was so efficient with our beers, there were so many to choose from I only wished we could've stayed longer. It's family friendly with games. Prices are super reasonable for the continued quality and arguably strong beer styles. If you're a beer fan, whether new or a veteran, this is a must-visit regional powerhouse. The sriracha 1000 island is so good that we always ask for an extra side to dip our fries and chips in. I ordered a house salad with the Bumbleberry Poppy Seed dressing, which was fresh and flavorful. My youngest son stuck with his usual favorite, the Smoked Brisket Poutine, which never disappoints. My husband ordered the June special, the 5-OH Burger. This massive burger features an 8-ounce patty topped with ghost pepper cheese, Hawaiian BBQ candied jalapeños, bacon, onion straws, a grilled pineapple ring, and a cream cheese jalapeño popper. The flavor combination was outstanding, and the spice had a delayed kick that sneaks up on you a few seconds after each bite. My oldest son went with the BBQ Burger, loaded with smoky BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, house bacon, onion straws, pickles, and horsey sauce. Another excellent choice. To wash it all down, my husband enjoyed two beers: the Hazy Headhunter and Hop Thunder from Down Under, both of which he really liked. The food is consistently great, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is always lively and welcoming. Today we sat outdoors on the large patio. After all these years, Fat Head's continues to be one of our family's favorite places to eat. Highly recommended!

We just spontaneously attended book swap at Lakewood BottleHouse. It was my first visit to BottleHouse out West. AMBIANCE: The ambiance simultaneously caters to various guests. It's refreshing to see this at the brewery. There's a large wooden bar perfect for guys' nights. Secluded room with twinkling bottles descending from the ceiling that's ideal for celebrations. Enclosed patio for friends' get togethers. Large open space for groups and events. More dim area for intimate dates. I personally found the dim area to be too dim for my eyes. FOOD/DRINKS: BottleHouse Lakewood has a kitchen as opposed to the East Side's food partnerships/pop-ups. We didn't order food but the book swappers were raving about their fries. My friend and I were most interested in our BottleHouse favorite - mead. I tasted their sweeter meads before and loved them. I ordered Metropolis mead this time (highly recommended by the bartender). My mead was the color of bold red wine. Metropolis was described as a semi-dry black currant apple mead with spices (clove and allspice). This mead wasn't my favorite, it was too acidic, bitter, and bold. For the pour size it wasn't worth over $12. I more gravitate toward golden and light meads. While I won't be sipping on Metropolis again, I look forward to checking out other meads here. If you're also a mead fan, find the list of their four meads in red on the chalkboard at the bar. SERVICE: Service was amicable. Most service was self-initiated at the bar. Drinks and food can be ordered at the bar. Your servers will find you by the number you will be provided. I look forward to visiting this location to taste other meads. Unlike other nearby businesses, this spot is open on Sundays late into the evening. It makes it an ideal low key hangout spot for Sunday spent with friends in trendy Lakewood.

It's really not that far I'm being dramatic it's like max 13 min from the center by car. Anyways it is literally the cutest place inside. Dimly lit by table-side antique sconces and Christmas lights in the bar with wooden booths and chairs. Very eclectic. This felt like a special place the minute we set foot inside. The beer menu is something else you not only wouldn't find in a typical restaurant but even for a beer place. Very Belgian German vibes. I didn't even get to the best part yet believe it or not. They are very vegan and vegetarian friendly. So many things on their menu can be made vegetarian or vegan. Like things I've never seen before like TOFU SCHNITZEL. Holy shit. But then you think about it and are like why have I never seen this before? It can't be that hard? They also have a meat free version of the allegedly local favorite sauerkraut balls which was an absolute must. There were just so many things we wanted it was hard to choose. Other than the balls, I was very interested in the vegan sausage and the Reuben (on literal potato pancakes) that can be made vegetarian or vegan without the corned beef but ultimately could not pass on the tofu schnitzel which came with a starchy side (I went with the spätzle obviously) and a veggie side (I went with the kraut.. obviously) and GF the Reuben with a side of fries. To take home for later, the spätzle appetizer and the pretzel. We also ordered beers, needless to say. I tried a cider that was incredible. One of the best ciders I've ever had. Everything was incredible. The kraut balls, actually spicy kraut balls per their menu, were so good. I was bummed there were only 4. I feel like there should be at least 6. I'll pay more. The dipping sauces were really good too. One was a curry ketchup type thing and the other was a cheese that was fabulous. Tofu schnitzel was breaded to perfection with a very crispy exterior. They used a nice, thic slab of tofu. Given the schnitzelness of it they probably could have gotten away with something thinner. They had a mushroom gravy which was nice for the vegans. The kraut was typical kraut. The spätzle slapped. I love those little pasta dumpling dough pieces. What a nice texture. GF's fries were salted perfectly and crisp. The pretzel was softer and lighter than usual. The cheese spätzle was better than sex, earth shattering ecstasy. So yeah it was pretty good.

First visit. Walked in on a Wednesday night. Asked if we had a reservation which I found odd…read moresince the place was virtually empty. But, OK. Seated in bar area which was super cool. Real old-school bar vibe. Really liked it. Lots of wood paneling and vintage stuff on the wall. Great German beer selection and I had a draft I never had before. Really good. Ordered 'build your own Schnitzel'. Picked the veal, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Had the veal topped with 'Oscar', crabmeat and asparagus. Delicious...veal was crispy and tender, sauerkraut had the right amount of bite and mashed potatoes were solid enough. Topped with paprika gravy. Food was very good. All in all a really good place. Food was great, service was fine, maybe a little cold and not particularly friendly, but good enough. I am new to neighborhood but this is the kind of place I could see myself coming to often.
