The quote was for over $1,000 to retrieve data. Not even an OFFER to reduce the price based on the fact that I waited for 3 months. First of all, I can't say enough about these guys. I had 2 terabytes worth of data lost on a hard drive crash in my computer. At least I THOUGHT I lost it till I found these people. The previous computer "tech" I gave it to said my hard drive was shot and my data was unrecoverable. There was just too much important data on my hard drive that I hadn't backed up to just give up on it. I did a thorough Google search, read reviews and decided if I was going to give it a shot, this is who I would go with. Brian walked me through EVERY step of the process with what he was going to do and how he was going to attempt to recover the data from my hard drive. He explained it in layman's terms which made it easy to understand. What clinched the deal was that he said if he didn't recover any of my important data, I wouldn't be charged a penny even if they put hundreds of dollars into the process. Needless to say it was the best decision I ever made. You can imagine with 2 terabytes (95,000 files) of data which included over 1 terabyte of music and pictures as well as important documents for my different businesses, I was only expecting probably half to be recovered if I was lucky. He recovered ALL but 15 of the 95,000 files! Needless to say I was in shock. Just be warned, recovering that much data isn't cheap. But it was definitely cheaper than every place I looked at. It was well worth the money I spent. Again, be warned it isn't cheap, but don't think he's ripping you off. After he explained why it was so expensive between the materials they had to buy along with the time spent, it made sense. There are people who will claim to try to get the data off your drive but will still charge you for the time even if they fail (which had happened to me years ago at a different place when my back up hard drive crashed!) You never know how good someone is when it comes to data recovery. These guys are the most professional and knowledgeable I've ever dealt with. I wouldn't go anywhere else but here if ever I have to refer anyone. My lesson learned. Back up everything regularly. And back up to at least two back up hard drives in case one fails. read more

Data Rescue MDs lived up to their name. I am beyond grateful to Data Rescue MDs for recovering over 2K pictures that I took during a trip of a lifetime for my youngest son where he played baseball in Cooperstown, New York in a 12U tournament. It is a right of passage for many youth baseball players and all the pictures were deleted. After getting a new computer, my oldest son thought he could free up space on our older Apple MacBook Pro by deleting all the User IDs. This included deleting iPhoto even though warnings came up asking if he was sure he wanted to permanently delete these files. He continued to delete them thinking that all of the files, data, and pictures were already transferred to the new computer or our external hard drive. However, they were not and all the memories from that trip were gone. Pictures mean so much to me since ALL of my pictures from my youth were destroyed in a flood. This was one trip I know my family will always remember but pictures bring back so much more than just memories; they bring back stories. I went to a local company that claims on their website that they are a "Full Service Professional Computer Repair" shop. They did not live up to their name in any way. I think my case is a tough one. I accidentally erase all the partitions of my hard drive( not just formatting a partition, which is a little less severe). And I'm not sure if the data was still there. All the pictures of my life as well as many documents that are important to me were wiped out because of just one line of wrong code that I entered using Linux( my computer was dual boot window 10 and Linux). I was panic and depressed. I tried to search for a place that can recover them. And the experience is that you have only one shot to go to the right place, otherwise, any attempts, either done by you or a repairer, that are not successive will lessen your chances to get your data back. I lost about 20gb out of 650gb of my data because I tried to recover them myself at first. I found a few places, but based on the online reviews, I decided to go for Data Rescue Mds, and I was not disappointed. Brian was able to recover about more than 90% of my data in less than 2 weeks. And it was at very reasonable price. I also admire their work ethics. They could charge you a lot if they knew the data was valuable to you. But they did not. I don't see any review regards this issue but I did think about our privacy if someone had all our data. I see that they know what they're doing. This is a place we can trust. read more
