Waited over 3 months to get my external hard drive back. Then I had to call to figure out why the delay. Obviously it wasn't a rush order. They apologized for the delay. The quote was for over $1,000 to retrieve data. Not even an OFFER to reduce the price based on the fact that I waited for 3 months. Data Rescue MDs lived up to their name. I am beyond grateful to Data Rescue MDs for recovering over 2K pictures that I took during a trip of a lifetime for my youngest son where he played baseball in Cooperstown, New York in a 12U tournament. It is a right of passage for many youth baseball players and all the pictures were deleted. After getting a new computer, my oldest son thought he could free up space on our older Apple MacBook Pro by deleting all the User IDs. This included deleting iPhoto even though warnings came up asking if he was sure he wanted to permanently delete these files. He continued to delete them thinking that all of the files, data, and pictures were already transferred to the new computer or our external hard drive. However, they were not and all the memories from that trip were gone. Pictures mean so much to me since ALL of my pictures from my youth were destroyed in a flood. This was one trip I know my family will always remember but pictures bring back so much more than just memories; they bring back stories. I went to a local company that claims on their website that they are a "Full Service Professional Computer Repair" shop. They did not live up to their name in any way. In short, after three weeks of me repeatedly calling them to see if the pictures could be restored, they finally referred me to Data Rescue MDs. I don't even think that repair shop actually looked at my computer. However, the one professional thing that the "Professional Computer Repair" shop did was to refer me to Data Rescue MDs! I use an external 4tb hard drive for both my day job as a website designer and my weekend job as a wedding photographer and storing my pictures and video of my baby daughter. I think my case is a tough one. I accidentally erase all the partitions of my hard drive( not just formatting a partition, which is a little less severe). And I'm not sure if the data was still there. All the pictures of my life as well as many documents that are important to me were wiped out because of just one line of wrong code that I entered using Linux( my computer was dual boot window 10 and Linux). I was panic and depressed. I tried to search for a place that can recover them. And the experience is that you have only one shot to go to the right place, otherwise, any attempts, either done by you or a repairer, that are not successive will lessen your chances to get your data back. I lost about 20gb out of 650gb of my data because I tried to recover them myself at first. I found a few places, but based on the online reviews, I decided to go for Data Rescue Mds, and I was not disappointed. Brian was able to recover about more than 90% of my data in less than 2 weeks. And it was at very reasonable price. I also admire their work ethics. They could charge you a lot if they knew the data was valuable to you. But they did not. I don't see any review regards this issue but I did think about our privacy if someone had all our data. I see that they know what they're doing. This is a place we can trust. read more
