Be wary of this company! Been working with them for a couple of years with no problem. Recently had to get a new printer and it wasn't connecting with my laptop. Called Steve had him come out. When finished he said all good now. It wasn't. Ran into same problem again. Called him and he said he could do it remotely and I said fine. After he finished, it still didn't work. Tried calling him again and left message after message. HE DID NOT RESPOND, BUT SURE KEEP THE FEE I PAID TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. Don't fix the problem and keep the fee. What a guy. My wife's Apple laptop started to have problems. One day it just stopped working. It would not turn on nor would it reboot. After searching online for several repair shops near our home in Libertyville, we found Steve Fanuda in downtown Libertyville. His office was in the back of his father's jewelry store right across from Casa Bonita restaurant on Milwaukee Avenue. After reading some of the other online reviews I decided to call him and ask about his services. After speaking with him at length I decided to give him a try and see if he could fix my wife's laptop. After a few days he was able to diagnose the problem and installed a new hard drive. He also fixed my wife's i phone as well. His charges were very reasonable and even though it took a little longer than expected he was able to fix the laptop and restore additional memory to her phone. I have used Steve (Mobiltech) a couple of times. The first time he copied all of the data and set up the system software on a new computer. The second time, he fixed a computer that was running very slowly. He installed a solid state hard drive, cleaned up some corrupted files and upgraded the computer to Windows 10. After the upgrade, one of the critical programs would not run. Steve worked several days trying to fix the problem. He finally solved it by cloning the program from the old, broken disk and restoring it on the new disk. Steve will do whatever it takes to solve a computer problem. He is very knowledgeable in both computer hardware and software. He won't quit until the problem is solved. I worked in the computer industry for over thirty years. My laptop started throwing really odd errors after transferring all data from an old and failing desktop. Sure enough, it stopped functioning. I called Steve on a Thursday evening and he asked me to bring it in early on Friday. We worked on it all day, providing updates along the way. He was able to diagnose, correct, reinstall, and eliminate all the malware within one business day. I also needed help moving iTunes from the old desktop to the laptop, which isn't easy. Steve is wonderful. He really seemed to care about solving my computer issues as cost-effectively and quickly as possible. He has worked on multiple computers of mine. He fixed my business computer over a weekend so I would not be without it during the workweek. He suggested a solid state drive as well, which I agreed to have him install. My computer is amazingly fast now. it was like switching from a motor scooter to a Porsche. I cannot say enough good things about Steve. He is my "go to" person if I have a computer problem. Steve did a great job for us! Fast, fair and good! We have two iMac(s) that were performing poorly (the dreaded Apple rainbow circle). Steve backed up the data, installed the most recent operating system on both and replaced the mechanical hard drive on the older iMac with a larger, solid state drive. Unfortunately, it is difficult and tricky to open up the newer iMac machine so there was no hard drive upgrade on the newer machine. Steve then moved all the data files back onto both machines. Its amazing how much better they run, both of them. Ironically, because of the hard drive upgrade in terms of size and to a solid state drive, the older iMac runs even faster than the new one. Definitely see Steve if you have an older iMac before you buy a new one as this service may be better (and for sure a lot less) than getting a new Apple. Steve then came to our house, we installed a new printer and installed scanner apps for this printer. It is really simple to use. Steve also partitioned our iMacs for 3 users, and showed us ways to keep this simple when we all have different music libraries, etc. Steve then took an existing Apple Airport we had in the basement and moved it upstairs. We now have two WiFi networks in the home. One off of the Comcast router in the basement and works really well there. Set up a second off the iMac on the first floor and it covers the first and second floors. No new equipment, a 15 minute job for Steve. Its much faster than before, no $ for new equipment. I can not recommend Steve enough. read more
