If you're looking for cats, go to Pet Food Express at Slatten Ranch on Saturdays from 12-3. or Pittsburg Petsmart on Sundays from 12-3. They have different kinds of cats and kittens with different shapes and colors just waiting to be loved. After a short screening application, your new friend is yours! Cats and kittens have an adoption fee of $100. If you're looking for dogs, they don't bring them on site. Instead, they're all at a foster house in Brentwood. Man, I've never seen so many dogs in one place! Small and big dogs alike! You can tell they're well taken cared of at Joy's house. Usually you can just sit there, observe all their personalities, and pick from there. I'm sure one will steal your heart like my Wyatt has. Dogs and puppies adoption fees range from $125-$300, depending on age, special needs, purity of breed, etc. Email joysdogs@gmail.com or call 925 473-4642 to make an appt. And if for any reason you find that you and your new furry friend aren't working out, you can bring him/her back to the organization free of charge within a month after adoption. I immediately got a great vibe with the brightly painted barn and sky blue house. Let's go back to goat yoga. Basically it's yoga floor moves with darling baby goats that pose for pics and want to be cuddled. It's just another way to be at one with the earth. I throughly enjoyed my instructor and the environment. Now back to the farm...it's a not for profit farm that has children classes and first time farmers. They offer an array of vegetables for sale using the honors system. They have a red box outside that you deposit $ in. In all this place was a breath of fresh air and I'm definitely going back! Check it out! GIRL POWER!!

They teach children the concept of composting, growing sustainable produce and sharing what they grow. The kids were able to feed the goats and chickens as well as pick worms from the compost bins (gross/cool). I noticed a review several months back complain of no sanitation station. During our field trip everyone was ready for us AND they had a hand washing station near the entrance/exit. They also shared the additional goal of the farming industry to bring in young people interested in farming. The average farmer in America is 58 years old and it's a grueling career!
