I have visited Daughter Thai a few times when I am in the neighborhood and the group I am with are all feeling like getting some of that unique Thai spicy. There has been a recent boom in Thai restaurants all over Denver and I am here for it! The restaurant does a really good job of cultivating a spot ideal to grab some Thai food while also having a business lunch. It is clear that the wait staff was trained to handle those kinds of customers very well. It is also just loud enough in there to not be awkward in between conversation but quiet enough to easily hear the person across from you. Just for that, I don't hesitate to bring my customers here. With that said, their lunch special is at a very reasonable price and the portions are such that you won't be falling asleep at your desk after lunch. The dinner prices are, in my opinion, very inflated. The food itself is pretty good. The appetizers leave a lot to be desired but the entrees are good and close enough to being authentic. I'm a big fan of their true Thai spice levels. If you haven't had Thai food or are unaware of the Thai spice levels, please start with mild or ask the wait staff to explain. I will be visiting more in the future for my business lunches!

We have some back a few times now and I have to speak to the reliability of the quality of the food and service- both excellent! We have added a few favorites to the list: the Khoa Soi soup... my god. I would come back alone for this! Soooo delicious. Rich, complex flavors and textures, creamy coconut... it's a dream!! Reminds me of one I had in Maine that I've been chasing in Denver ever since. We also really enjoyed the panang with chicken (you can sub the protein). We ordered the pad see mao (chicken) and it was also absolutely delicious! Coconut shrimp was also delicious. Satay still remains a favorite!

I went to Daughter Thai because I had heard good things, but honestly I was pretty disappointed. I ordered the pineapple fried rice for $30, and for that price I expected a lot more. It only came with 2 shrimp and maybe 3 or 4 small pieces of chicken. I also ordered the ribs for $15, and it was only 3 small pieces. The part that really bothered me was seeing a $10 tip for the chef added to my bill without anyone asking me. I have no problem tipping when I choose to, but it shouldn't be added without my permission. For the prices they charge, I just expected better portions and a better overall experience. Sadly, I don't think I'll be coming back

This is an exceptional restaurant. It has everything: great food, friendly service, beautiful interior with cozy ambience, and a fun location. The quality of the food really stands out. The flavors are dialed in to perfection, with absolutely perfect spice and temperature levels. The meat throughout the dishes was extremely tender and flavorful. Their cocktails are on the weaker side in terms of strength but tasty and creative. The wall full of awards you see when you walk in makes sense. My only gripe with this place (hence 4 instead of 5 stars) is that it's really overpriced. Yes the food quality is exceptional, but even by today's standards the entree prices are unusually high especially given that the portions are average (more on the small side). The Emerald Pad Thai for example is $37, and it's just a normal sized pad thaj with a minuscule amount of snow crab mostly just used as a garnish. Not even on the Vegas strip would they charge $37 for a pad thai. The cheaper Pad See Ew clocks in at $23 which is better but still way too high for the amount of food you get. Still, would highly recommend for date nights, groups, business dinners and special occasions. The combo of food quality, ambience and location makes this restaurant a real gem in Denver.

Warmly welcomed by hostess and waitress. Sat outside, lovely ambiance. The meal was quite good. Perfect spot to catch up with my friend!

I have frequented daughter Thai about a dozen times. I live near by and when I don't feel like traveling to my go to Thai spot US thai , I visit DT. However ,It seems the portions keep getting smaller and more expensive. For $35+ the volcano beef now comes with hardly any meat, just lots of bell peppers picture below to Show the lack of substance. $20 for a papaya salad with no protein is just ludicrous pricing for a cut papaya with lemon juice , fish sauce and peanuts . Staff is always extremely courteous and professional. Food is actually delicious and authentic flavors , but it's gotten way overpriced .

Daughter is another place I've been wanting to try on Platte Street and Friday night was the perfect day to do so. We came in Friday night without a reservation and got seated very quickly. The dining room isn't huge but it was pretty full of guests. I definitely understand how servers can get in the weeds and delay a greeting to a table but we waited about 15 mins before seeing our server. The host was very nice and was able to get us started with water but that was after like 14 minutes. This was okay, I'm never one to complain about time until it's taking noticeably long. Our server was very nice and informative as it was our first time. He had some suggestions when we were struggling to decide what to get. We started off with Vegetarian Crispy Rolls and Papaya Salad. The only reason I'm giving this review four stars is due to the amount of time we had to wait for our appetizers. The first appetizer we got were the rolls after about 35 mins after ordering. Which is slightly ridiculous, in my opinion. We already placed our main entrees at this point. The papaya salad came out at probably 40-45 mins after which was so odd. After receiving the salad, we got our entrees 3 mins later. Which was not ideal. Thankfully the Papaya Salad was delicious and had a strong kick of spice (we got mild) so it was okay. I hate to be a complainer but the servers should be working with the kitchen staff to get the food out on time and not wait long periods of time. It just seemed disorganized. I got the Chicken Pad See Mao and my boyfriend got the Prawn Pad Thai. Both were very good! Nothing super outstanding though. I do want to give this place a second shot but our first visit was nothing special.

This elevated Thai restaurant (as its website says it) is no doubt Denver's #1 Thai destination not because its sophisticated elegance you see in the dining and bar area but the quality ingredients they use to make all the dishes with no salt overload (they surely know how to season their dishes to entertain our palates.) As my BF and I dined at Daughter's just the other night when our stomachs were completely empty, we firsthand experienced what they are reputed for. And as if to meet our high expectations, nothing was disappointing. Let me state how everything was. -Our waitress: Was Jacky A. Her attentiveness was just right to the point where she only came to us when she suspected that we needed her (without us gesturing to her.) And she did so in a most timely manner. This must come from her experience as a waitstaff. -Overall dining atmosphere: The time was around 5:30pm on a very hot Thursday. We showed up to our reservation a bit early so the dining room was barely busy. The receptionist sat us at one of the two-person tables (their two-person tables are quite large so multiple dishes can be placed at one time). One of the seats was part of the long sofa against the wall on the east side of the restaurant. Very comfortable; your bottoms sink in just to the right depth. The other (standalone) chair which I sat on was comfortable due to its nice cushion. I like that where I wasn't sitting on a hardwood surface. The bar area also has a nice ambiance. The booths appear to be reserved for larger group of people and they are also quite the size. -Happy Hour: Monday and Tuesday is 5pm till close; Wednesday and Thursday is 5pm till 6:30pm. It appears somewhat limited and yet I kind of understand this structure so to avoid any "congestion" during said HH. It appears they value smooth operation and flow so the diners won't suffer a long wait especially when they are famished. HH menu is somewhat limited and yet let me get into some of the dishes we ordered from it as they amazed us. Meals/dishes: We got 1) Vegetarian Crisp Roll (4 pieces), 2) Garlic Broccoli from the HH menu and Chicken Pad Thai from the regular menu. And at the end of our meal, we got Chocolate Triple Mousse. Vegetarian Crisp Roll - $6 for the four pieces of deep-fried vegetarian spring roll were light, crisp (as the name says it all). The silver noodles, mushrooms and carrots were well-portioned in the crisp out layer of it and they were well-seasoned. The accompanying sweet and sour sauce had the perfect sweetness and tanginess. Must order item off the HH menu. Garlic Broccoli - Truly surprised us. When we got it, we were like, "Did we even order this?" It's because the dish doesn't look like it's a broccoli dish; they use only the stem part to make this dish and that is why it confuses you. But I tell you, you must get this dish. This stir-fried broccoli is cooked in a garlic-heavy mushroom sauce and oh boy, without using a lot of salt, they perfected the recipe where all flavors truly dance on your togues. $7 as of early August of 2025. Chicken Pad Thai - My BF had a truly disappointing experience at a different restaurant out of state so this was his request to forget about that horrible pad Thai taste. And did this dish pass his test? Yes, it beautifully did! The portion size was just right for our remainder of our appetite (after having the two appetizers from the HH menu.) Its presentation is a large white shallow bowl is quite captivating as well. After the three dishes, we were quite full and yet we decided not to skip a dessert (in many cases we do skip this part not because we don't like sweets but to not overeat.) Chocolate Triple Mousse - Simply amazing. This light dessert is a perfect size for two people when a small portion of some sweets are needed to finish off the meal. $11. We didn't order any drinks so I, unfortunately, cannot speak for that but if they focus so much on the ingredients and how they cook their dishes, I am certain that the same attention goes to what they serve and concoct for drinks. I will reserve the opportunity to experience that part for our next dining occasion. I simply cannot wait for that.

This Thai place was so delicious! The duck curry was amazing, very tender and the curry was delicious. The Pad See Ew, fried dumplings and ribs were decent. I got a fresh young coconut which was also nice. Service was prompt and friendly. A little pricey but worth it. Parking is on the street.

Also tried the lunch special. We got pad Thai (wow, large portion), pad see moa, and spicy basil with rice. All were very delicious. Comes with side salad and drink. STRONGLY recommend to try Thai iced green tea. Very beautiful luxurious thai restaurant vibe, delicious food, & good service.

I honestly expected better, I ordered a pumpkin curry and it was just good, the tofu in it didn't have any prior cooking it was just plain cubed and added to it. My friend said his eggplant dish was good. Vegetable rolls also good but nothing special.

Daughter Thai Kitchen & Bar has such a beautiful, inviting ambiance that immediately sets the tone for a special dining experience. The space is vibrant yet refined, and I'm already excited to see their upcoming expansion with Father Noodles next door. Our server was fantastic--attentive, helpful with recommendations, and clearly knowledgeable about both the food and drinks. It made the experience feel even more elevated. As for the meal, everything looked stunning and tasted just as good. The Emerald Pad Thai was flavorful and satisfying, but the real showstopper was the Deep Fried Whole Fish with their secret sauce. That dish was absolutely incredible--we savored every last bite and didn't waste a morsel. The only miss was the Thaigerrr Smile. Unfortunately, the beef was cooked far beyond well done and ended up with the texture of jerky. At $37 for what amounted to just a few bites of meat, it was disappointing. Had I noticed it right away, I would have asked for it to be remade, but I was too busy photographing the gorgeous presentation. Even with that one hiccup, I'd happily return to explore more of the menu. Daughter Thai feels like the perfect spot for a special occasion--an elevated, modern take on Thai cuisine where the service, ambiance, and standout dishes make for a memorable evening.

Daughter Thai Kitchen & Bar Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Daughter Thai Kitchen & Bar

Is lunch and dinner menu separate?

Yes, but as I can remember you can order from either

Are there any peanuts or tree nuts in the khao soi? And besides the ground peanuts, is there any other nuts in the pad Thai?

This is a question best answered by the owner or the head chef. I suggest calling them at the number listed on their website.

Is the nutrition information for the menu items available?

    No.

I've heard the portions are very small, especially for the price. True?

Yes, what you've already heard is true - that's why you are hearing it :) I think the value is on the lower end here. The portions/cost are very small/high.…

Are the greenhouses sanitised after every party that dines in? I wanted to make a reservation for 2 for date night and want to be sure before I book!

Yeah they are cleaned/sanitized in between customers!

My husband and I will be visiting Denver in a couple weeks and would like to go here for a date night. Are reservations necessary for a Monday night?

I'd say to be on the safe side, make a reservation. There is a bar where walk-ins can sit. There is also a great microbrewery across the street, Denver Beer Co. where you could always kill some time if there is a wait for a table.

I was in the other day and didn't see any vegetarian options for noodles, soups or mains on the menu other than a side dish. The bartender said everything is made with fish sauce and she can't even eat at the restaurant so we left. Is this true?

Hi K L, We do offer vegetarian options! You may request that your order be stir fried in the wok…

    Are there any vegan options?

Hi Kelsey, Thank you for your interest in our new restaurant. Yes customers may ask for vegan…
