Shoutout to the Yelp community because you all absolutely led me in the right direction with Lucky Noodles! I ordered takeout, and before I even got to the food, the customer service stood out. The woman at the front, who I think may be the owner, was so kind and funny. She even walked my bag out from behind the counter to hand it to me personally and sent me off with so much warmth. Small gesture, but it honestly made the experience memorable. Now the food...wow. The Jalapeño Crab Cheese Wontons were packed with flavor and came with the perfect sweet/spicy dipping sauce. The Pork Roti was unreal and officially a must-order for me moving forward. I kept taking bites trying to figure out what ingredient made it taste THAT good. Her top secret weapon (off Ploy's secret menu of course) is the Pineapple Express, an incredibly crispy and delicately fried chicken dish served with jasmine rice. The dining area is small but has a communal sense to it that immediately makes you feel comfortable. Service is fast and dialed in. You truly can't ask for more! This is a great spot to catch up with a friend or make a new one. This location is definitely an upgrade compared to their last location because parking is easier. The area is also nice to walk around. We came during lunch and it was busy. The menu is small because she takes the time to perfect each item. She was really passionate about the Khao soi because she finally perfected it. I just love her energy and you can tell this is someone who loves what she does and the food she makes has heart behind it. The food was tasty. I came for late lunch on Saturday. Almost a full house, with only 1 table open. I spoke with Ploy. She recommended the Khao Soi, which egg noodles simmered in a yellow curry. She said it was made with 3 portions of coconut milk and the fat content was modified with cane sugar. Very flavorful, but not spicy. I opted for vegetables and tofu instead of chicken. Besides the food here being absolutely phenomenal so was the customer service and the energy in the restaurant there were lots of plants and an airy good vibe. But the food, I got the yellow curry egg noodles off the special menu and it was something I could feel like I could eat every day! We were in the neighborhood and I've been dying to try Lucky Noodles. I never had a chance before they closed the Colfax location. So when we were in the area, I knew we had to stop in for a late lunch. You order at the counter. We got the Khao Soi with crispy chicken and chicken pad see ewe. And a side of rice and cucumbers for our little toddler. Food came out quickly. And with an active toddler, it's much appreciated! The food was delicious!!! My husband said it was definitely one of the better Thai restaurants we have been to lately. Khao Soi was super flavorful. And the crispy chicken was a nice touch. The pad see ewe is probably one of the best I've had at a Thai restaurant. Grandmas magic sauce is chefs kiss! My husband really liked it. And it wasn't too spicy. I got to talk to Ploy a little bit, my family is from Laos and she's from Thailand and there's a little bit of similarities in the language. Had an amazing authentic Thai dinner at Lucky Noodles. When we walked in, we were told the wait for food would be an hour because there were more than a dozen to-go orders. We didn't mind, and it was definitely worth the wait! Owner, "Ploy", let us know we should definitely have the Tom Yum Noodle soup or the OG Red Curry. My friend had visited Thailand several times before and said we should get the Tom Yum Noocle soup. We also opted to split the Jalapeño Crab Cheese wontons and OMG Pad Thai, a favorite dish of my son's. The wontons were unlike any I have had. Crisp triangular pillows filled with a sweet and spicy filling. These did not need a sauce. The Tom Yum Noodle soup was amazing. The five hour effort Ploy put into making this dish was evident in the flavorful spicy and sour broth that soaked the rice noodles and chicken. Delicious! The OMG Pad Thai was just that - oh my goodness where have you been all my life?! This busy yet quaint restaurant on east Colfax will not be there for long. Even though business is booming, Ploy is looking to move to a new location within the next three weeks. Ultimately, I've tried a lot of Thai food places and while this is good, the portion size for the price isn't going to compel us to come back. The place itself is nice but pretty small with 5 tables you can eat at indoors but they do also have outdoor seating. Absolutely delicious. Having been to Thailand a couple of times, I can say this is the closest meal I've had to Thai food without being in Thailand! Lucky Noodles is a quaint little place offering about 20 inside seats and is located on the corner of Colfax and Marion. Here is why you go here: The Tom Yum soup is delicious. It offers the perfect combination of savory and spicy flavor. Ploy, the owner of Lucky Noodles and from Bangkok, told us she spends 5 hours making this soup, so it is well worth a visit here just for Tom Yum. The meal started with the jalapeno crab cheese wontons. OMG!!! So so good. A little sweet and savory with the best frying of wontons I've had. I could eat 100! We also selected the OMG Pad Thai with chicken. This was absolutely to die for. If you've had Pad Thai before, try the Lucky Noodle's version. I can guarantee it's unlike any other you've had. This left me wanting several orders of Pad Thai to go. I wasn't alone in thinking this either - Lucky Noodles was 15 orders deep in take away meals when we sat down to eat and the orders just kept coming. I had to order the Thai Tea as well, and was very reminiscent of my time in Thailand. Lucky Noodles is a Thai restaurant that is small regards to its seating capacity but big in regards to its flavor and charm. I suggest bringing friends and sharing as many dishes as you can because everything we ate was divine. Likewise, the drinks were also exceptionally good. The owner suggested we try the passion fruit mojito, so we ordered it and the gummy bear. Both were a balance of sweet and sour. If you're expecting to split a plate between two adults, you will be hungry for more. We went on a Friday night with four people and it took almost an hour between ordering and getting our food. I came to visit Denver to help the esteemed Matt C. with a major Yelp event, and of course we had to follow his recommendations for his favorite places to eat while in the area. He brought us to Lucky Noodles and I'm so glad that he did. Yelp top 100 restaurant? Check. Friendly and involved owner who cares a ton about her food? Check. Interesting atmosphere and an excellent place for conversation while enjoy a great meal? Total check. If I lived here, you can bet I would be gradually working my way down the entire menu. That said, since I only had this one night, I wanted to try a variety of things. We all started with a cup of Ploy's tasty and refreshing bubble teas, all opting for a different flavor, and each coming away happy and refreshed. We then worked our way through dumplings and filled roti into our main courses, where thanks to the conversation, I cannot even remember what I ordered... but can say with certainty that it was delicious. It was tangy, spicy, and tropical and a nice size portion. I soaked up as much of the sauce as I could with the rice, and didn't leave a morsel to take home. This is the kind of food that I could definitely eat every day quite happily, and can't wait for my next trip to Denver to try some more. Was visiting Denver, and trying to find any Asian place that opened earlier. Found this place on yelp, and the roti looked good in photos. Ambience is cozy, lots of plants and personal decor. Family wanted some thing soupy so I got them the street noodle soup. Super very mediocre, the noodles were a little bit over cooked. Chicken was a generous portion, but overall pretty mediocre. Preference obviously plays into this, but this soup was too sweet. The roti was not bad, grilled meat tasted pretty good but... it was so small (refer to photos). For the price, even with inflation, definitely not worth it! I could probably make the same thing for less than $5. There's a paid parking lot attached or else you have to find paid or free street parking. They have a menu that they call their secret menu. My friend ordered a dish from that- a soup with some fried chicken and fried ramen noodles in it. He said he really liked it. I tried the broth- it has coconut so I'm not a fan but he really liked it. His dad got the pad see ew with the "magic sauce" and he liked it. His mom got the mild (not spicy at all) shrimp pad thai and enjoyed it. I very much liked my chicken pad thai medium spicy (it had quite a kick)! I got the Kha Soi many flavor levels from this dish. The broth was a curry based. It was both sweet and a little spicy. The sever gave me to note to squeeze the lime over it and then mix it up which helped. Along with the soup. I got the honey lemon soda. It had a nice balance of honey and lemon. It was also topped off with butterfly pea flowers tea. As far as the space. It's very small but if you have small group you should be fine. When I went it was pretty cold inside (maybe the heat wasn't working), so rushing to eat was kinda the only option. Overall the food is great. Hopefully the heat will be fixed soon! read more

Saddened to hear Lucky Noodles has closed temporarily while they scout a new location. Thankfully, it seems that sadness will only be short-lived. Too few restaurants today put Denver on the map. Despite being the capital of the West, the city - though it anchors the vast expanse between Los Angeles and Chicago - dines like neither. Some restaurants could compete on a national or international level but they are few in number given the population that supports the big city of the Front Range, not to mention the surrounding states that rely upon, and often envy, Colorado's global appeal and prominence. This is where Lucky Noodles enters the picture. Dining at it for the first time recently, I gleefully anticipated the owner's approach to sourcing rare ingredients and devoting enough time to each dish to ensure it is an ultimate in culinary expression and flavor. Each piece, ehr plate, becomes a work of art. The watchword is perfection. I wish I had just stumbled across this place, but it was a November Westword article with great background on the restaurant's challenging inaugural, Buddhist-like approach and determined creation of each customer's dish that intrigued me. When you arrive, you're greeted with two menus: the secret menu and the regular menu. The former lists dishes you can't find online. This allows for a select experience you can only embrace by being in place and ordering on site. The result is a wildly flavorful, visually impressive, anticipatory celebration of each bite. Really, before each bite ends you enthusiastically await the next. Impressively, having only been opened a short time in 2021, Yelp ranked Lucky Noodle 51st best restaurant in the United States. Think about what that entailed during what many of us would admit was the most challenging year of our lives. The world was beset by a terrible virus, sadness and stress, peak pandemic mortality and a collective patience shorter than your fingernail. Those challenges and their statistic relativity lead me to envision they probably could've ranked more like a top 20 restaurant nationally had it opened amid normal times and circumstances. It's hard to laud enough compliments in their direction, but I concur with previous reviewers who lament if only they could rate the restaurant higher they would. The service level is rock star (Aspen-level). The setting was pleasant (winning for attention to detail and creativity). The dining experience, phenomenal (one of the three or so best restaurant meals I've had the last five years). I'd tell you what I had, but I'm so sorry it'll have to be a mystery until you arrive in person wherever they should reopen. A hint for whenever that moment in time should come: it's the top item on the secret menu, but with chicken. ;) A toast to Lucky Noodles and all their endeavors when they reopen in their future location. read more
