That person came and was present and working for the whole cleaning. I was affected with significant smoke damage after wildfires. I cleaned the whole house myself multiple times but the garage was so bad and actually had stuff in it I was required to keep including documents - plus it was not neat and tidy pre-fire either. There was an overwhelming amount of work but I also felt like it would probably be a waste of money to hire someone. TBH all the companies that came out to give quotes sounded like they were trying to hose me and my hypothetical insurance company - some were definitely being accurate about the nature of the work and what a proper cleaning required but some were looney tunes. NOT BOLT! They started by asking me what I wanted done, they let me know if they could do it and how, they also didn't try to school me on soot which was a nice perk because they had no idea they were the 6th company who came over to give a quote. Once we agreed on what would be done they presented a quote. Honestly, I expected the price of the cleaning to exceed the quote once they started - it didn't! They did everything exactly as they said they would. The cleaning took less time than they estimated which was a crazy bonus but I have no idea how. they started by taking out the items I had marked as trash. They took everything I marked as trash and offered to take more if I wanted, which I did. They hand cleaned every single item in every single box and every single surface. They cleaned cords and wires and basically every item and surface in the garage to a degree I did not think possible. When they left it smelled good (not scented - just fresh), the walls were white - I didn't know they could get white! Everything was beautifully organized which I did not expect. They did say they would organize, I just didn't expect the level of organization to be better than what I could do myself. I really thought they'd just put things back in a logical manner. When I saw it, I wanted to cry. This was . . . it was out of this world. They had suggested that I buy storage containers so that I could purchase exactly what I wanted but they also offered to purchase them for me. I chose to buy my own but became apparent that I underestimated how many storage containers I needed and I was very willing to have BOLT supplement what I had bought. They asked me where I got them and bought the EXACT same ones!!!! They went beyond cleaning and remediation. I don't know how to express my gratitude. They also were just a pleasure to have around the house. The people who work for Bolt are people I might have in my family or in my friend circle and having them in and around my house felt very comfortable. Despite the extreme heat they worked diligently and adhered to all the conditions my HOA placed on them which were not few and were definitely the type that would affect the time and labor required. I honestly was looking around the house wondering if I should have them redo the rooms I did myself! I cannot recommend them enough. They do move out cleans and inventories so I'm definitely hiring them again when I move. I just have to add, I was super anxious about this whole process before it started and I met the team. It's uncomfortable having people go through your personal items to clean them. I felt like a hoarder when a social worker comes to the house. That is the mentality I had when they came over. It probably stems from the way the other remediation companies spoke and acted. While I was tense when they started, I quickly relaxed. When the end of the first day came, I did think it was completely clean and organized but Bolt pointed out what was still left to be done and how they were leaving things for the next day so I would know what was clean and finished and what, despite looking clean, still needed detail work. Looking at the garage at the end of day 1 eradicated my anxiety completely and I immediately knew hiring Bolt was the best decision I could have made and I almost feel like I did not pay them enough considering the level at which they performed.
