I was shocked with how much I was quoted because it was almost double the price of the automatic shut off valve device I paid for. So I had to confirm that the price that was given to me was just to switch out the bad unit with the new one. They didn't have to do anything else like run new pipes or replace anything else. When I communicated to them that the quote was high, they asked how much did i wanted to pay. I thought they would try to be more reasonable since the name is The Affordable. I give them a range based on the prices from other plumbing company that I reached out to and they couldn't do it which I understand they can set their own prices. Once it was open they ran the camera, and it showed exactly why this kept happening: the old clay pipe was cracked and offset, with a corroded section of cast iron next to it. Cesar walked me through the footage and laid out the options, and we went with a full trenchless pipe burst replacement. The thing that stood out most was the communication. Cesar answered every question I had, no matter how small or how many times I asked, and he answered them fast. Everything was in writing. The scope grew as they found more, but every increase was explained and quoted before they touched anything, and the final bill matched the contract to the dollar. When they ran into an extra connection at a bend they handled it at no charge without me asking. My tenant works from home with strict privacy requirements and a hard cutoff time, and they worked around her schedule every single visit.
