I had tortilla soup. It was good but so salty it felt like the back of my throat was burning. Ease up on the salt! We also had the pepperoni pretzel pull-apart which was mostly just bread sticks. I recommend that the bread sticks are cut in half vertically so that the cheese has a good surface to melt into. Most of the cheese and sauce on the "pretzels" was falling off due to the surface of the bread and the grease. When first walking in the I noticed the trash was over flowing in the entrance. Not really something I would want my customers seeing when they first enter an establishment. The bathrooms were disgusting. Trash, bottles, tissue and paper towels all over the place. There were half drank alcoholic beverages just laying all over the game floor for someone's kid to drink. Service was ok. The waitress was nice but maybe she could came to the table little more often to make sure our glasses were full. Personally, I will not return. read more

Came here around 7. (Saturday night). My son takes off to the games and I go sit at the bar. And sit. And sit. And sit some more. They were not particularly busy. There were 3 bartenders working. 1 looked in our direction but I guess we weren't in her section. Finally a bartender (Halley) helped us. The drink were good (strong as hell). We ordered some food. They accidentally put jalapeños on our nachos and told me of the mistake immediately (kudos bc a chick HATES jalapeños). Slow service. Many tables open but they said the wait was 30 minutes. The hostess was texting on her phone so much she never spoke to me. I had to speak to her to even get a table. So we went to the bar area. Many tables were empty and dirty. We sat down in the bar area. Service was slow. The food was ok. They don't have any veggie options but the salads are great and are a great price. Don't come here looking to eat healthy. The food is tasty. The games area is super great. They have a large selection and switch to new games quite often. They got rid of the tickets and now everything is electronic on the cards. The prizing store is great BUT BEWARE all the prizes are high ticket costs. You win the tickets by playing the games. 275 tickets only got me a very small pack of gummy bears and a lady taffy for my nephew. In the store that would have cost $1.25 total. We returned and waited another 15 minutes then the hostess told us there was one other party in front of us. This ended up being 3 hours before we were even seated it took 45 minutes for them to take our order. After all that they brought the wrong order out and had the nerve to charged us for the wrong meal. This is just awful awful customer service. Terrible service. EXTREMELY long wait, food was cold, and all around poor service. Details below... We checked in at 5:45, it is currently 9:03 p.m. and are just now leaving. The kids got cards and played games for about two hours before we ever got seated. They managed to completely empty their credits and spend around 5,000 tickets and they still had to wait around half an hour eating their candy to hold them over until we sat down. We even split between two tables to get seated faster. It was at least a 45 minute wait between ordering all of our food and finally being served. We had to threaten to leave multiple times and then we actually got up and asked to just pay for our drinks. The manager then came out and told us that our food was ready and would be out immediately and completely free if we sat back down. ALL of our food was cold and we eventually realized that we had not had our drinks refilled once (even though they were all empty and had been for a while). Our food wasn't even served by our waiter, it was served by the manager. There were several other parties who had been seated before us and still hadn't even eaten when we left. At least one other party walked out while we were waiting because they also hadn't been served. We have been here many times, alone or with our kids, I noticed that a lot of games where removed, there is a lot of shooting games of course. We had a terrible experience. Party of 6 on a Monday night. It was dead. Messed up a salad I ordered twice (I didn't want dressing on it) then argued with me about it and refused to take it off. Overall just felt like it was overpriced, food was mediocre, games not worth it for what you pay. Our server was nice but management was rude and staff working the store was rude. Definitely a good location. Lack of management shows prominently when the crowd picks up though. Dave & Busters does offer private party rooms for work parties or birthdays. They feature a large bar with plenty of tvs to catch the game. Thursday's feature eat and play for 19.99! That's what I'm talking about! My specific experiences come about 3 weeks apart. Reception area is made up of young kids & I think this is what is contributing to the chaos. Food: Wowzers. At a loss of words. Maybe the fryer had old oil in it? Everything we had left a weird after taste that left me needing to cleanse my palette. Drinks: bar service is extremely slow. Drinks are insanely sweet so order the basics here. Ok place . . . there's overpriced food but fun games which equal about three (3) stars. Let's get into the details, shall we? * Strength/Quality/Value of D&B Groupon deal: Score is 5/5; There's no question that during the summer, this was a brilliant idea for D&B to go though Groupon. In fact, anytime kids are on break, this would be a great offering to post through Groupon as parents are always looking for ways to keep children occupied during those periods. The only drawback was that the kids were crestfallen by finding out that the deal only included a limited number of games. It was in the fine print. The games they could play were older or just not as current as the hot games using VR or whole game box concepts. My feedback is to include all games. * Game Floor and Game Selection: Score is 4/5;. Walking into D&B is like walking into a casino, in a good way, especially if it's not overly busy. It's a nightmare on weekends nights but we went mid day, mid week at around 11am so it was great timing on our part. They sometimes have a line for certain games and people don't want to give others a chance to play.. The floor workers, should, in my mind, help with fair and equal playing time. * Game Maintenance and Function: Score is 2/5; several games were unplugged and out of order during our visit. With regular maintenance a I would think this wouldn't happen. * Food Price, Selection & Quality: Score is 2/5; I'm glad D&B had a restaurant onsite and they try to include foods that with speak to the many. The problem I saw was that it was way too overpriced for some dishes - especially when the food was just average. Plus, the kitchen staff didn't get our simple orders right when there were only a few people eating because it was so early. * Beverage Price, Selection & Quality: Score is 2/5; As with the food, the beverages were overpriced. Both the adult beverages and the rebuilt drinks. But they did have allot to pick from. * Atmosphere: Score is 4/5; Great atmosphere during the day but it's a bit sketchy at night. So from how I've viewed it for years, kids are for the day time and it should be 21 and over at night, especially in weekends (Thursday-Sunday). Also, a second bathroom at the front of the house would be very beneficial... It's a real haul to go to the far back, though a crowd, for people with disabilities. * Cleanliness: Score is 5/5; everything looked great with two exceptions. The menus were all sticky and nasty. Last, the empty tables would take forever to be bussed and they didn't work the tables down well. But overall, the floor and games were clean as was the bathroom. * Front Desk Assistance: Score is 3/5; To be honest, they had an overstaffed front desk and none of them were overly enthusiastic to be at work. When serving customers, perk up! Hey you some Five Hour Energy! * Wait staff (restaurant): Score is 3/5; my wait staff has always been nice but they've never really been great at their jobs. They forget what you ordered because they don't write it down and it comes out wrong and they blame the kitchen. Hard for me to know who's fault. * Gaming Area Staff: Score is 1/5;. The lone, game floor staff person that I saw just walked around and wasn't very helpful other than to point you in the right direction of something like the restroom. Looks like they don't fix on broken machines nor do they ensure everyone gets a chance to play popular games by limiting how many times someone can reply a game. So my question is, what do they do? * Would I come back again? Score is 5/5; my kids like the gaming area and it's really the only game in town that's worth it other than Frankie's. Frankie's beats D&B but it was too hot to be outside to enjoy all of Frankie's offerings plus we got a Groupon, so we came here. * Would I recommend it to others?Score is 5/5; Yes but will give them full disclosure. With Play All Day deals, you can only play a limited number of games. While it might save D&B some money up front, people will leave once they bore from the few games they can play which means they only stay a couple hours. If all or more games were included upfront, people would stay far longer and buy more food and beverages. This review allows potential customers the ability to make their own informed decisions on visiting this establishment and to understand expenses while also giving management and employees real time feedback to discuss and potentially make changes to improve the customers experience. Keep in mind that THIS IS NOT A PAID REVIEW. It's all solely based on my experiences, opinions and observations. Addendum: Dave, thank you for reading my review and sharing it with the Cary team. I was really skeptical with all the bad reviews and I really just don't understand. We've gone twice now, once on a Saturday night when it was busy, and once on a Tuesday in the middle of the day and BOTH times we had an amazing experience. The people at the counter to give us the game cards were nice and helpful. They didn't make us seem rushed or stupid for asking questions. Both waitresses we had were really awesome. They were knowledgeable about the menus and even helped me through my allergies. The games were really fun too and if one stopped working or took our tokens off the card, we were always given more tokens and the games was attended to ASAP. I think the only compliant I would have is that some games we didn't get to try because people would just sit there and play them over and over again but that isn't even Dave and Busters fault. Both times we've gone the place has been clean or at least attempted to keep clean (Saturday was packed). I'm really shocked by all the negative reviews. read more

A fun place, but quite expensive to play games. The kids felt as though they should've earned better prizes when redeeming their rewards after all the wins they had. We could've purchased a whole lotta Laffy Taffy's elsewhere for $78. I'm sure the food is great, but we chose not to eat here since the menu didn't appeal to our pizza loving children. The fact that our server was slow as molasses was another factor in our decision to leave. It's difficult at times to entertain both adults and children, but D&B does a pretty good job of keeping everyone happy. With a full menu and bar available, there is plenty to choose from. I certainly wouldn't say just come here to eat, but grabbing a bit and throwing in the fun and games makes for an enjoyable experience overall. They have ample parking (since Cary Town Center is pretty much a ghost town). However, this place is lively, so don't get me wrong. A true bright spot in an otherwise deserted mall. You walk in to their service desk where u can get power cards for games. Then comes the Bar and Restaurant area. You will also see private rooms to the left for Birthday Parties and Events. Lastly you find a giant see of games with flashing lights and nostalgia of an arcade sets in. To be honest, many of the games are really fun and the inner kid in me takes over. Lol I think I have as much fun as my son. And the best part is you can enjoy an adult beverage while you're at it ;) Sign up for their email distribution list if you want in on promos. Careful with the cards, as some games will charge you twice or charge you without the game actually working. Restrooms are in the very back left of the place. Decided this might be a fun thing to do in the afternoon for my birthday and to blow off some steam with some games. I had no idea how chaotic it is here with the volume of all the games on full blast at the same time, the dizzying lights, and kids running in every direction. If someone had any sensory issues they'd be on overload in no time, and that's before even getting to the area with a big sign saying you're entering a high sensory area. This is an over the top arcade for those who need the highest level of chaos available. Definitely not my idea of fun or entertainment. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a dave and busters. I understand it's busy but there's no need to be rude. My husband, myself and my daughter sat in one of the side bar booths that are connected to the game floor to count cards mainly, if a server stoped by we would've bought drinks. We sat there for a bit got lots of nasty glares from the staff, one lady pointed at us, the other were staring at us and talking to each other. I looked at my husband like "are we in the wrong sitting here?" Which he replied "they would have a half wall up on the game floor side if they didn't want you to sit" I shrugged it off. We brought two appetizers from the prize counter and came back to the same table. Again glares. Finally after my husband tried to get some of the waiter/waitresses attention someone came over and said "there was a 15 minute wait".. in my mind.. a wait on what? We don't need a table. She disappears. I asked my husband if we should just order To go. Next waitress came around about 35 minutes later and said that there's still a 15 minute wait. I asked can we just place our order to go? She said one of us would have to place it at the bar. My husband went up to the bar, stated he had the coupons for 2 free appetizers and he wanted them to go. The bartender then said "oh great, oh my god" with a heavy attitude. While he was at the bar I was still sitting at the table. One waitress came over again (different one each time) and asked if I was ordering food, I told her "no, I wanted too but we just placed a to go order. Just waiting on my husband. " she looked at me then at my daughter and said she understood and said I was fine sitting there. 5-10 minutes pass and another waitress comes to the table and said I needed to leave the booth! Huh? She was like "you weren't properly assigned that seat, you need to leave. It isn't a free for all" Every time we've come to Dave and busters we sit in those booths... so now it's an issue? Even tho the waitress 5 minutes ago said I could sit here? I got up and told my husband to meet me in the car. If we hadn't cashed out our tickets for the food I would've passed up on it. My boyfriend and I loved the Wednesday night half off specials that we frequented at the previous location, however we will not be returning after our experience last night. We sat at the rather crowded bar at 9pm and waited about 15 mins to order a round of drinks and shots. Totally fine. The unenthused bartender took our order and informed us she might be out of the don julio reposado tequila we ordered. She then came back about 10 minutes later with two cocktails and two shots (clear, not repo) and sat them down and walked away. We then waited over 30 minutes to receive her attention to ask for our tab (no card was ever given to start one) She then sat a card reader that prompted us to pay a rather large tab. We asked for an itemized receipt because the shots we got weren't what we ordered and she took the shots we hadn't touched away before giving us one with just the cocktails (both $11 bringing our tab to 23 with tax) Does that mean on any other given night my margarita would have cost over $20? Or were we not given half off our cocktails? She told us she gave us patron and that's what she was going to charge us for. We wouldn't have complied had we known she was going to pour us a blanco tequila, but there was no conversation that took place after the initial ordering. As bartenders ourselves, it's sucks to see a place that could have so much potential have staff that doesn't seem to care about customer experience at all. Had she given us the time of day, and at least acted like she was representing an establishment deemed for fun and games, she could have had an easy service industry 40-50% tip. I was at Dave and Busters last night for a work event, and it was a lot of fun. We reserved a room and had buffet style bar food and drinks. The food was all right. Nothing to write home about. The spinach dip was pretty good but the chips were super salty. We had mini pizzas, which were on par with a standard microwave pizza. Mini burgers were pretty bad. They were like White Castle burgers, but a little gross. I liked the boneless chicken wings, and although they were a little dry, the flavor was good and had a little kick to them. The service was ok as well. Friendly staff, but took forever to get drinks. Kind of annoying when we first got there, about 5 of us ordered beers, and it took like 20 minutes for them to arrive. I had a cocktail as well and I wish I could remember the name, but it was in a tiki cup and was really sweet. Maybe a little too sweet. Even though cards were provided for free since it was a work event, we were there on a Wednsday so cocktails and tickets were half off. Overall, the games were fun, and we had a great time. I wouldn't really suggest eating here though as the service is a little slow and the food wasn't great. If you want to play some games, eat before you come. read more

This review comes from two separate visits with both dinner and gaming. Because the two experiences were so totally different I will just average to a 3-star 'A-OK' review! I came here with friends and some D&B bucks to burn and was immediately drawn to the games. I love a good arcade and for the area this is a VERY good arcade. They had a Pump It Up dance game (my all-time favorite), air hockey, a very scary and fun 4D Horror game and a bunch of luck and skill games to win tickets. All the games were clean and well maintained and our money went surprisingly far in having fun. My only complain is that money translates to points here, so you really have no clue how much you're paying for a game unless you think about it and do the math. While the gaming aspect of it was great both times the food-- and service that came with the food was totally different both times. Our first time our sever was slow, distant and a bit rude. Our food took about 45 minutes to come out (and it was a slow Tuesday night) and no one was really impressed with anything. The second time our waiter was much better, though he seemed a bit forgetful. I had to remind him for a pint glass for our ciders (that came bottled) but he was polite and checked on us often. Even though the place was way busier our food came out faster and everything tasted great! I especially loved the steak salad which comes with a great dressing and candied pecans which I usually don't like. The only con to this time was the fact that our menus were filthy; like the pages were stuck together with food. And we weren't offered new ones upon alerting them. All in all I think this location will improve if they work on training the staff, but right now it's just a pretty good place to spend an evening.
