Do not eat here if you don't want to get sick. I've eaten at this location multiple times over the past few months and gotten sick every single time, this is not a coincidence. Attached is a photo of the chicken they use for the nachos and quesadillas, taken by a staff member showing how it's "prepped" before serving. Look at it. It doesn't look right, and I've seen it show up like this more than once. This specific staff member told me they do not even eat the food at this place due to these issues. On top of that, I've directly watched kitchen staff handle food with no gloves, and servers and bartenders go straight from tables to drinks/food with no handwashing in between. This is a health code violation waiting to happen, and it already has, repeatedly, to me. I'm not writing this to be dramatic. I'm writing it so the next person doesn't end up sick like I did. Stopped in here today to grab an early lunch. Was pretty dead when I arrived and there was practically open seating at the bar...perfect! The bar tender helped me right away and was super friendly and helpful. Found out he is an army vet (thank you for your service sir! ) and had been working in the food industry ever since. I ordered a tasty local IPA and the half sandwich and soup meal. Got the melted cheddar and turkey sandwich with a cup of their house made chili. The chili was fantastic, could've used a bit more portion wise, but I'll let that go. Sandwich was good too. The beer was super fresh. The bar tender told me they just had their lines cleaned out. Lot to be said for a bar that stays on top of that. I came here with my team on Monday for an intro/networking/social hour and dinner. We were a group of about 15 and arrived just before 6pm. We were seated at two large tables outside (covered patio). We had one server but she did a great job the entire night, getting all of our app, drink, and meal orders and checking back regularly to keep our plates and glasses full. We started with some nachos, cheese curds, fried pickles, and dips, as well as a variety of beers, wines, and cocktails (mostly margaritas). I originally ordered the cajump shrimp pasta, but it turned out they were completely out of pasta that night, so I pivoted to the steak salad. I enjoyed sampling the appetizers - all of them were tasty, hefty portions perfect for sharing. I was already full before the entree salad, and when that came out, I knew I wasn't even going to make a dent in it. I had a few bites before boxing up, but the steak was cooked nicely (medium) and overall, it was definitely a tasty salad. Very quiet for 430 on a Wednesday. Our waitress came pretty quick she was very friendly. I'm ordering a classic Philly cheesesteak. We're also ordering the French onion Smashburger and we're ordering the Carolina combo pick two fried shrimp and 6 ounce sirloin and a Caesar salad. Also gonna try the Elysian space dust IPA. I wasn't impressed with the IPA because it only comes in a tulip glass, which is kind of small or you can order the pitcher which is way too much for me. The Caesar salad is really good. The French onion Smashburger was so so the burger itself didn't have a lot of flavor unless you dipped it in the French onion soup even doing that it wasn't that flavorful. I feel like a smashed burger should be able to stand on its own. I also felt like the burger was kind of dry for a Smash burger. 6 ounce steak was good along with the shrimp and fries. I felt like the Philly cheesesteak sub. The bread itself was a little dry look like they toasted it but then when you got to the meat and the flavor, it just wasn't there if I were to compare this to ruckus Philly cheesesteak ruckus is better. Carolina Ale house is a good place for a game and a drink, its very convenient but forgettable, however on a good game day it is the place to go and yell at the TV. The menu looked great, but it felt hollow when the food didn't live up to the hype. The BBQ smoked Brisket Platter was a tragedy, what should have been tender and juicy was dry and rough, every bite was a reminder of what could have been. I have visited multiple times throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs and, while the servers and other staff members have consistently been friendly and helpful, I have repeatedly had negative interactions with the hostess. During one game, the audio in the section where I was seated stopped working ten min into the game and was extremely quiet. Several guests in the area were discussing the issue. When I approached the hostess to ask about it, I was told there was no problem and was essentially told I was incorrect. About 30 minutes later, after another guest mentioned it to their waitress, the issue was fixed. Every time I have come in after that game, she has been repeatedly unwelcoming to me and the people with me. Most recently, I came in with my boyfriend for the game and asked for a table for two. Before I could finish speaking, a different hostess interrupted me and said, "I can put you outside." I politely asked if it was possible to join a waitlist or sit at the bar instead. The response I received was, "I just told you that you can sit outside, that's it," delivered with a raised voice and an unfriendly attitude. At that point, both my boyfriend and I felt unwelcome and chose to leave. I understand that game days are busy and stressful, and I am always patient and respectful with staff. However, these repeated interactions have made me hesitant to return despite otherwise enjoying the restaurant and having positive experiences with the servers and other employees. The food here is excellent. I had the Blackened Salmon, Broccoli and Rice. The service here is fine, except the woman who delivered the food to the table was a "B". (And I am not talking about a school grade.) The host told us they have Salmon when we were seated and the Waiter said they sold out--turned out when he went to investigate--they really did have Salmon. This place is dirty. There was food all over the seats and menus--I had to use a Wet Ones to clean my hands after lifting the menu and we cleaned the seats off ourselves. I know staffing if difficult--but this crossed the threshold of acceptable. I am still giving it a 4 of 5 because the food was very good and they are open very late for dinner--but be ready for the above challenges. Hopefully they get rid of that woman--they know who it is I am sure. The unfortunate thing for this restaurant is that the food is clearly a 5 of 5 but their rating is getting dragged down due to poor service and cleanliness and I presume that for the time being management can't do anything about that? read more

The ambiance and service were fine and the people working there were very polite. Our waiter was especially kind. However, there were very large coach roaches crawling all around the floor and walls of the back patio near the dining tables. The floor didn't look as if it had been swept in days. I've never been in a restaurant so infested with roaches. Other guests sitting at the table next to us also noticed the roaches and complained to the waitress. Someone from the health department needs to pay a visit to this place. I can only imagine what the kitchen must look like. It didn't appear to be a very hygienic restaurant. For $16 it should be filled with meat. The French fries were soggy and sitting under the heat lamp awhile. This place is simply a sports bar for drinking alcohol with friends. I came over late at night after the Rangers had beaten the Hurricanes in the playoffs in overtime. I took a seat at the bar and it didn't take that long to get the bartender's attention. The bar needed a little bit of cleaning but I can understand that after a lot of people had just stormed out, pun intended. I got my beer quite quickly, good temperature, and the right amount of head. A few minutes later, the manager came over to me with a plate of food and asked if I wanted some Carolina shrimp. I was wondering if I was getting scammed, but he explained extras were made and I looked hungry. I gladly accepted. Six of us for dinner at 6PM on Saturday: 2 fish&chips. 2 burgers, half-rack of ribs, and a buffalo chicken wrap; all tasty, although the buffalo wrap had overwhelming mayonnaise on it. The noise level was so high as to make conversation very difficult. The service: abysmal. A waiter was sent quickly to take our orders, drinks and dinner orders in one shot. Drinks arrived quickly, but an IPA with an orange slice in it that was supposed to be a Blue Moon arrived, and was replaced. Dinner was another 40 minutes to arrive... and utensils another 10 minutes after that, following several requests for silverware. One side of fries came out cold, and the waiter said he would expedite a replacement order... which took 15 more expedited minutes for hot ones that arrived with the check. One order of fish came with tartar sauce, the other did not, and there was no traditional malt vinegar to be had. Not a good experience. read more

This was the only place open truly during late night hours ( after 11 p.m.) where we could enjoy cocktails & dinner. We decided on a house margarita & Ketel One Mule with the beer battered cod & chips and a callabesh platter. I also had a side salad. My ketel one mule was great. Mr. Brooks was our waiter and he was excellent. He was very kind and helped us with our menu choices. He conversed with us and took his time. The food was fresh and tasty. The cod was delicious. I want to start off by saying that the wait staff, specifically Kaitlyn, is extremely RUDE. We had a large party and we were asked to leave tables when multiple tables were empty. Please check the date of April 10 as the restaurant was not busy. We spoke to the manager, and he was even less helpful. Save your time and go to BJ's restaurant in the same shopping center. Similar to Millers and other Ale Houses you'll find around the east there's a big variety of quality bar food and beers in a large space that's somehow family friendly with tons of tvs and a couple pool tables. I usually don't complain about service, but I felt compelled to express my disappointment with your manager, Christion (or Christina). On April 26th, 2025, I placed an order online for pickup at approximately 5:14 PM, with an email confirmation indicating it would be ready by 5:27 PM. When I arrived at the store at 6:14 PM, I expected my order to be ready. However, my food was not prepared. The young man at the counter checked in the back and informed me that he couldn't find my order and didn't even see my name on the board, but he assured me it would be made right away. I thanked him but requested to speak with the manager since this was the second time I'd encountered this issue. Your manager, Christion, came to the counter and asked how she could help. I explained that this was my second time experiencing an issue with my order not being ready. She responded that she had just encountered this situation but assured me the order was being prepared. I pointed out that no one, including her, had apologized for the delay. She claimed she saw the order sitting and instructed the staff to remake it fresh. Her response was contradictory, and when I questioned her courtesy, she asked why she should apologize for ensuring my food was fresh. I explained that an apology was necessary because the order wasn't ready, and I was forced to wait longer than anticipated. After I left the store, I checked my food and found it was cold and not fresh. I returned and requested a refund. Christion asked how I placed the order, revealing that she was unaware of the situation. When I asked for the general manager's name, she ignored me. Only after an employee attempted to provide the name did she say it was Tara. Throughout the encounter, Christion was dismissive, rude, unapologetic, and unprofessional, which was especially disheartening given the difficult day I was having, grieving the loss of my epileptic son. While I understand my personal circumstances have no bearing on her actions, her lack of professionalism added to my distress. I urge you to investigate this matter, as your establishment prides itself on being part of the community, yet this behavior does not reflect well on your organization.
