Okay so I am a huge fan of Dave and Busters first and foremost. I have worked at entertainment centers in management for years and I have frequented them often. With that being said- on a Saturday night which is one of the most popular evenings...why are half of the games not working and why are your prizes all of the surplus from old inventory/clearance items? I lost many chips on a lot of games that were not properly working and the prizes were nowhere near how nice they used to be. The actual food area was good- but be warned. If you have a lot of food restrictions, there is not much you can get. I ended up with two grilled chicken breasts but had to purchase a specific meal for much more than it was worth and I asked for light sauce and they smothered it. The rice pilaf was good along with the coleslaw but I would love to see a "light" menu for those with numerous restrictions. Even just plain grilled chicken sandwich with a gluten free bun or something. Overall- I'll be back for sure. I just hope you take these things into consideration. I love the atmosphere but making it a bit cleaner and maybe getting some more variety of games will do you good. You used to have plenty of games, but they all seem to be screen games now where the settings dictate how often someone wins or has certain settings turned on. I highly recommend bringing back some good old fashioned games to appease all ages! read more

I recently visited the Dave & Buster's in Livonia with my family and unfortunately the experience was very mixed. We purchased three of the $59.99 Eat and Play combos for the kids, and I do want to give credit where it's due. We ended up losing one of the game cards and the manager was extremely accommodating in making sure the free meal was still honored. That level of understanding and customer care was truly appreciated. However, the rest of the visit did not match that same standard. I went to the bar to grab a drink and watch the football game and sat there for quite a while without being greeted, even though the bartender clearly saw me. The bar itself wasn't busy, yet the environment felt rushed and unwelcoming. When I was finally acknowledged and received my drink, the overall energy was tense and uncomfortable. The bartender I interacted with, Dana, came off very cold. Later, I spoke with a friend who had been there the day before and they mentioned having a similar negative customer service experience with her as well. When we sat down to eat as a family, the attitude continued. Our waitress was noticeably hostile. She slammed my drink on the table and did the same with my cousin's food. It made what should have been a fun family outing feel awkward and unpleasant. The food itself was just okay. I ordered the sampler with sliders, wings, and fries. I tried asking about the spicy Korean wing flavor and the waitress seemed completely uninterested, simply saying she only eats buffalo wings. There was no effort to be helpful or welcoming. I had been told this location was better than the Utica one, but based on this visit, I wasn't impressed. It's disappointing, especially since I was hosting family from out of town and hoped for a fun, upbeat environment. Took my family of 4 and was able to spend much of the afternoon playing games and having fun. We got the $55 for the day play pass and I certainly think it's worth it! We also got some lunch/dinner and although the service was a bit slow (it was really busy) the grub was delicious, and the drinks too! It's a bit busy inside but that's to be expected in an arcade! Best part of this place was enjoying the games & competition with my volleyball daughter and my husband! We made a reservation and had to wait a little bit, no problem-but while waiting we saw several open tables...but my husband being in the food industry noticed the lack of initiative or concern to help guests. At one point there were three employees standing at the host/hostess check in. The food I was literally served a raw piece of chicken...now I am generally the LAST person to complain about food and/or request any type of refund or anything...but when your food comes out and all looks great-the chicken sandwich was huge so THANK GOD i cut it in half to eat it...it was not cooked! The waitress who was very sweet initially said she would have her manager come over -& then changed her mind and said can I just take it? I had her take it-she did offer other food which I declined. She was then gone for quite some time; my daughter and I went to start playing games while my husband waited. The "MANAGER" was shown this and apparently per the waitress just said "ewww". Never came to us, never said anything and we were initially provided a bill with no type of discount or refund...they did end up discounting $15 for my food (we paid more for eat and play). There were dirty tables around us which had not been bussed yet...drinks took an awful long time to get out from the bar as well. Today was a school field trip to Dave and Busters. I had never been to this location! When I walked in I was amazed at how nigh it was. You walk in to a bar areas it's got stools on both sides to the left is the games and to the right is a very large area for eating. There were roll top chafing dishes down the aisle we had both sides of that area. The staff was amazing best customer service I've even seen in Dave and Buster's. We later games from 10 to 12 and our meal was served at noon. We had several servers. The menu was pigs in a blanket, chicken nuggets, pretzels, French fries and a variety of drinks. We had plenty to eat and were able to take some too good. It was impeccable. I live east but will definitely plan future events at this location! Hats off to the staff at this location. We normally go to the Eastside location off Hall road I'm definitely going to take this long haul from the Eastside of Detroit to bring my family here! It could have been the time of day because we were there at opening time and for a long time the only people there but it just seems to be the culture of that location! Beware of deceptive marketing. Signs on tables and on websites show $5 drinks and $10 wings on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays. We ordered with the server telling her we wanted the happy hour drinks and wings thinking we would get these prices honored. But the VERY FINE PRINT mentions that it's only valid 10pm-close. You have to search really hard to see these important details and the server didn't bother to inform us that it wasn't happy hour. We feel duped, we complained to one of the female managers who agreed the promotion is deceptive but offered no apologies. Won't be returning and will be informing Better Business Bureau. read more

I stopped in last night on 4th of July after work for a late night meal and was greeted warmly by Alice! She did a fantastic job taking my order, gave me a great drink recommendation and was swift with getting my order in! The food was pretty good, the drink was pretty sweet so i watered it down a bit with water, however it was really good. the quesadillas were pretty greasy for me personally but again i feel thats the theme with places like this. It was very loud and busy, I considered playing some games and Alice let me know how the token system worked so I got that figured out easily as well. Here's a 2-part review: Restaurant side: a TON of seating! We made a reservation just to be safe, as we went on a Saturday night at 6:15. Drinks were good and food was delicious. However....our waitress was disengaged and quite dry. She didn't engage in conversation much, admitted to forgetting to put in our friend's entrees, also admitted to thinking she brought us the wrong drink but "was just hoping nobody would say anything if it was wrong," and didn't know how the game room worked (specifically, whether we needed to print a card or we could use our phone). She totally guessed and said we couldn't use the QR code on our phone. Yet, it worked on every game. She's the reason I docked 2 stars Game room: at first, it was kind of overwhelming. I went here with my brother and grandma and we had fun playing games, but some issues arose while playing such as some of the games being broken, and my card not scanning correctly like 50% of the time, and the prices for tokens being very overpriced just to get some mediocre prizes. First time at this business where I went with my adult son and his kids as a tag along. We did not eat any food while there but pretty much focused on playing games with the kiddo's where this really was an outing for them with adult chaperones. Commenting on the games themselves, the game stations were definately fun with lots of lights and sound affects with games that provided something to play for all age groups, from young kids to adults. Relative to the facility itself, the lights are turned down to provide a darker environment which accentuates all the flashing lighgths and sounds at the various game stations which was visually very appealing and added a level of fun and excitement to the facility. Also of note, the game stations themselves were clean (not sticky of dirty) and almost all in working condition unlike some of the comments I saw in the other reviews. Relative to paying for the games, this is done via a pre paid debit card method where the more you spend the more credits you get (see photo). Most of the games we played cost 8 to 10 credits per person or roughly $2 a game. Getting to the experience part of it, the kids definately had a lot of fun as did the adults but I will say you definately burn through the money playing these games especially when running from one game station to the next. I think we probably spent $80 in a hour here as some of the games are fairly short duration. In probably what is a somewhat of tainted view, I come from an era of Elton John and pinball wizard where my experience was on $.25 pinball games that would last 5 to 10 minutes based on how good you were on the games. Times have definately changed and if I was a kid again I could not afford to play these games without help from mom and dad. The cost above all else is reason I give this place 3 stars as it seemed too expensive in my view for such short plays even though many of the games were very fun. In summary I would say if you have no problem dropping some coin and are looking for a higher end electronic game experience this place would probably fit the bill for you. Definately a place to consider if you are looking for multi player experiences as many of the game stations offer this option where up to four people can play at the same time and compete against each other. And she seemed annoyed every time she was serving us or taking our order. But the food was pretty good. I especially liked their XXL Bavarian Pretzel and the beer cheese sauce that came with it was pretty tasty. I definitely would get that again. It's big size was also most impressive. Went for a family night. We had a reservation and were seated. Our waitress took our drink order and disappeared, then took our food ordered and went MIA for a while. After informing another waitress Manager Kyle and our new waiter JD took very good care of us and Kyle hooked us up with some desserts and additions to our game cards. We went here today for my daughter's 18th birthday. Things not to order food wise: Mac and Cheese. One of my daughters got the Mac and cheese and it was definitely eating from the box! Was the worst Mac and cheese she has ever had. I tasted it and I agree on that. I had a watermelon strawberry margarita that came with Vodka not what is normally in a "Margarita", however it tasted delicious. The ice cubes in it had strawberries and jolly rancher in them. If you like watermelon and strawberry you should definitely try it out. I tried the chicken caesar wrap which was just okay. I was surprised that they put tomatoes in it. My daughter got French fries and she said they were too salty. The pizza they have there is pretty good. Now for the games... We had a blast! This is a place to come to for the games. That's always a good time. Pay the extra $5 and hit the virtual reality ride. It's a cool change from the other style games. I had an issue with a couple of games cheating me. For example, you get 9 balls in skeeball, however, one machine kept starting me off on ball 6. I honestly didn't have the energy to find an employee and let them know. On to the food. Not to say that all the food is bad, I just didn't enjoy mine. I ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich. It's chicken tenders on a sandwich. It was more bread than chicken. The strips tasted dry, like they were reheated. Other than that, the flavor was great. The sandwich has potential. If you're still super concerned about COVID, don't come here. Only a handful of staff are wearing a mask and they aren't sanitizing the games etc. read more

Hosted a work event had an amazing time great food and great staff definitely booking again

It was our first time, and we were very excited. We couldn't find any staff to help us figure out how it works to get some chips for the kids. Finally, another customer helped us. We went on a Sunday for 1/2 off the Chips - I couldn't figure out how to get that to work either. We had reservations so the Adults could watch Football while the kids could play. The Adults took turns with the kids. So, at this point we were still having fun until they decided we had been there too long - they must have wanted the table. They could have asked us to move to the bar and give up the table, but it became an argument with the staff and a few of the adults. It was very embarrassing. I was so disappointed that I will never go back. The kids have chips left but if they want to go back - I will take them to Utica even though it is further. My girlfriend said that Utica never acted that way. I hope Utica has the Godzilla virtual game - that was our favorite. read more

Earlier this evening I took my daughter out on a daddy daughter date because I have been working so much lately and wanted to spend some one on one time with her. Once we arrived, we went to get food and the girl at the bar was great and let us put in an order so we could play games while we waited on our food. We played a few games and the night was going great until we went to the human claw machine. We went through the gate and I was explaining how it worked and asked her if she would like to be the claw or operate the game for me to act as the claw. Mid conversation of me having a nice conversation with my daughter and employee walked over from the ticket counter and very rudely told us we couldn't play the game. I told him we paid for it and he said ok I'll come back and help you. I said ok and he walked away. We waited for about 5 min and he still never came so we went to go get our food. Our order was wrong but I didn't want to bother the kind bartender that was so nice to us. Also not having any issues while I was with my daughter. I really didn't want to have the gentleman that was rude to us earlier help us on it but I did go back up to him because the only other person I saw working was on their phone at the bar and didn't know if they were on a break. So I ask him to come help at the machine like he said and with no customer service he helps us use the machine. He wouldn't let me operate it for my daughter which I also thought was weird but I don't really care that much about that aspect. We are going to a Game Center to have a good time. My daughter had the time of her life thanks to me. The employees on games don't know how to smile. Or be tactful when dealing with an issue even if there was on but there wasn't. There are a few other small things I don't care for but after this I figured that's just how this place was run (badly). I've been to the other location near my home and it was nothing like this one. If you have a choice do not go here. I could get a full refund and still not want to go back. Just because of the bad interactions with staff. What a waste of money. I used to absolutely adore coming here, but if I'm being completely honest, it's really lowered it's standards. All the machines are sticky and dirty, and the prizes available aren't as good as they used to be. Going with a group of people (4 or more), you will for sure have fun. But going solo is definitely not as fun as it used to be. I prefer going on a Wednesday, because the games are 1/2 off, and you get more game time for your buck! read more

When we came in, they stated that it would be 10 minutes until we could be seated. It took them 20 minutes, after that it took an hour for the food to arrive - appetizer and kids meals. Then, 30 minutes later, the adult meals arrived. It took an additional 20 minutes to get the bill - we had to flag the waitress down. Even though I was extremely upset, and did not want to give this place any more money, my kids were so excited to go into the arcade. As we were trying to get power cards, the kiosk shut down and told us that it could only partially fill our order. The next kiosk we went to was empty, and so were the subsequent two other kiosks. There was only one kiosk that had power cards. Overall an extremely frustrating and terrible experience. Do not recommend that families eat there before using the arcade. read more

I can't believe how many people have mentioned the smell in here and it hasn't been corrected. As soon as you walk in it hits you and the smell fills the entire front lobby and eating area. Thank god it doesn't smell as bad in the gaming area. My wife and I were able to switch off with the kids so we could each get a break from the smell. Seriously, fix the smell. The waiter was very attentive and food was good. Kids had a great time playing all of the games and picking out prizes. Seriously, fix the smell. As far as Covid protocols go, it was hit and miss. This review is for the bar area only. I stopped by, the nephews went on to play game and I went up to the bar to drink and watch some games. As I was walking around, I noticed most of the seats had empty glasses or bottles, but nobody was there, but I walked around the entire bar twice, just to make sure. I finally found a place to sit where no empty glasses or bottles were present, eventually the bartender came up and asked what I wanted, I ordered and relaxed. One of the things I did was observe how they operated the bar area... So on my side, one guy ran the show and other lady at the end of the bar was getting drinks or making drinks for the table... as I looked to my left and right, the empty glasses and bottles were never cleaned up. As I started my 2nd cup, a lady walked up and seated herself and she had to ask the bartender to wipe down the area for her and he did. It's sad that the customer had to ask them to do it, rather then the bartender taking the initiative to do their job. I also notice the bartender was more focused on entering the tip in the system and taking the cash out, then serving the customers at the bar. I hope they hire more people to staff the area to improve the customer experience at the bar and please clean up after other customers leave!! read more

Went here for my boyfriend's birthday and he wanted one single beer. So we went to the bar and stood there, the man said he would be right with us. So we sat down and after 5 minutes of sitting there a 2 couples came right next to us. They got taken care of and even checked out before the bartenders Mikayla and Isis even looked at us. So finally my boyfriend asked Mikayla if we could finally get some help. She was extremely rude and we felt like we were bothering her. As always, Dave and Busters did not disappoint. My friends and I had about 150 credits between the four of us and were able to play games for about 1.5-2 hours. D&B gets pretty big on the weekend, so you'll probably have to stand behind the game you want to play while someone else is using it, but we never had to wait for more than maybe 3 minutes. They have a ton of options, from shooting games to deal or no deal to ski ball to roller coaster simulations. Your tickets are loaded to your card, so don't be surprised when no tickets come out after you play! We did not eat or drink while we were here, but I have had a drink from the bar before. The alcohol is overpriced, but that shouldn't be a surprise. It's a very casual vibe here. The parking lot is big, so even when it is busy, you'll always find a spot. read more
