Came in with a group of 8, visiting from out of town. One of our party, a family friend staying with us who has a valid Washington State license, was checked with a black light by the owner and confirmed as legitimate. She is 25. That should have been the end of it. Instead, the owner came back and quizzed her on the capital of Washington State, as if knowing state trivia is a requirement for holding a valid ID. She's never taken a state test to live here, she just has a real license. When she couldn't answer, he refused her service and made a scene about it, loudly, in front of the whole bar. If he had doubts, the obvious move was to ask for a comparison ID or check it against another Washington license in our group. He had one right there. Instead he embarrassed a guest over a "test" that has nothing to do with ID verification, something his own industry provides actual training and guides for. We left as a group of 8 and took our business elsewhere. Reading other reviews here, this doesn't seem like an isolated incident of arbitrary, inconsistent service. Skip it. read more

I did not have a good experience on my last visit to the Post. I ordered a hamburger and wanted it cooked to medium. I might add that my father also ordered a medium hamburger. It took over 30 minutes to get our burgers. They weren't full, so I don't know what took so long. When I got my hamburger it was so undercooked, I would consider it rare. It had a fully red interior. I had trouble finding my waiter, as he did not return to check on our food. I finally flagged to him down, and told him the issue. He replied that it is just how they cook it. Now, mind you, my father's hamburger was cooked properly, and was pink only in the center. I was asked if I wanted something else. I did, but it had taken so long to get the food, that I didn't want to wait another 10-12 minutes. I sent the hamburger back, uneaten. We stopped in for dinner on a Monday evening before attending the Yelp Event in Livonia. The staff are really great - I was welcomed and seated right away. It was slow on the restaurant side, likely because it was a Monday, but the bar side was full of what looked to be "regular" patrons. Our server was really nice and very patient with my fiend and I. I ended up getting the sliders with chips. When they arrived, I started eating the first one. The buns are soft and they were served hot. That first bite was great! As I ate more into the center (these are not small patties), I found it to be slightly medium-medium well. I didn't eat the very center and didn't worry about it. Once I bit into the second one, though, I found that it wasn't cooked nearly enough so I just ate the edges since I had already ate most of the first one. Despite having eaten most of it, the server and Manager made everything right. I'll be back to try some of their other menu items since they had quite a bit I wanted to try. read more

Our family friend was getting id and the guy who owned that bar asked what was the capital of Washington, at first we thought he was joking but then we soon realized he was serious. When she didn't answer he refused to serve her. As a place to get drinks and stop by on your way to/from dinner, The Post is the go to spot for me and my friends. 4 stars on drink (definitely pricier than necessary), and probably 2 stars at best for food, so giving an average of 3 overall. read more

What a neat hangout with an interesting menu! I had the Scottish Salmon with the quinoa, kale and edamame. So delicious! The salmon was perfectly cooked. I was having a great time until a bouncer approached me and tried to grab my wrist to grab my vape out of my hand. I wasn't hitting it, It was just in my hand. And instead of using words and asking me to put it away or not hit it he simply tired to grab my wrist or the vape and told me to put it away or he was going to take it from me and have me removed. I was happy to come across The Post to order takeout during our stay at home orders. Love supporting our local businesses and not cooking too! My hubby and I ordered the salmon with edamame quinoa and a burger. I had the salmon, which was cooked just right. The edamame quinoa was so yummy too! I didn't have a change to try the burger, but there was nothing left to try. Definitely a sign that it was yummy! We waited out in the parking lot for our food. Telling me to move in? I admittedly began to lose my temper a bit, but we told them to leave, that it was our table and our area to drink at. On Wednesdays, The Post either has Lasagna in spaghetti. All three of us ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. The dinner came with a Cesar salad and cheesy, garlic bread sticks. The bread sticks were hot and must have just come out of the oven. The quality and quantity were very good. read more

This was our first time at the Post. We were very lucky to find parking on the Main Street, otherwise I could see where parking could be difficult. We visited with a large group so we had the whole back section of the restaurant. It was a great area for a party. The back room was reserved well in advanced so I'm not sure why management wasn't prepared for us. There must have been 40-50 people in our group with a waitstaff of 2-3. They were overwhelmed with the drink and food orders and had a difficult time keeping up. This is managements fault not the waitstaff. Luckily, most of us weren't in a hurry and we spent lots of time visiting. Dave and I ordered Bistro burger meals and we really enjoyed the burgers, fries, and coleslaw. This would definitely be something we'd order again. Great flavor and very juicy and tender beef. The fries were really skinny and tasty - I enjoyed them. I also liked the fresh coleslaw. This place was so busy for a Sunday night. The women's restroom didn't have any soap and another guest said she told the staff an hour earlier. This wasn't good - We all needed to be washing our hands with soap. I also told the receptionist at the door but I didn't go back to see if it was filled. If I was basing this review strictly on the food I would rate a four but the lack of staff for a large group and soap situation in the restroom brings this review down to a three. I hope to try this place again in the future and if you like a bar type restaurant this maybe for you! read more

Started with Blackberry Coconut cocktail - coconut vodka, blackberry syrup, coconut water and a splash of lemon juice. A great refreshing summer drink! Outdoor seating was perfect at 7 pm. Had a golf outing for work not too far from downtown Plymouth. Never been for lunch/dinner and this place was suggested to us. I'm so glad it was! The angry chicken was by far one of the best spicy chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Crispy bread, all natural blackened chicken, pepper relish, habanero jack cheese, and fresh Bibb lettuce. I opted for the sweet potato fries and they were perfect. They have a nice cocktail menu with a nice variety of options. We stopped at the post during the covid pandemic after we had dinner, and it was pretty lively with a Dj standing indoors and spinning for outdoor guests. Went to the Post this afternoon to reunite with old friends. It was a late lunch. The bar was not busy, however upon sitting down it took upwards of 30 minutes for someone to take our drink order. After reaching out to the host (whom was congregating at a table next to us for the half hour) did a waitress finally get our order. The food was decent but because of the customer service, I feel that this place was not worth the time. 4/5 food. 2/5 for customer service. I hope that this was a one time incident. read more

I'm going to update my review since the changes they've made over the years have been impressive. First of all, I love the extension in the back. It's sort of an all seasons room, large enough for many tables, a bar, even a party. They also have live music back here and while the acoustics aren't very good, it does add a nice touch to the ambiance. There were outdoor tables this summer as well. During my visit last week, it was decorated for Christmas. They still have strong martinis, probably the best around IMO. The menu still looks like standard American fare but everything has an extra touch or element to it, making it more upscale than bar food. It's still relatively pricey. For someone more price conscious, the appetizers and sandwiches have some lower cost items. They've also nixed the flatbread, which was my go-to. Wish they would bring it back! There is a parking lot next door and behind, though it's smaller, and a parking deck a block away. read more
