There were so many instances of poor service, I'll just name a few. - table hostess was extremely rude and couldn't care less - table had spilled liquid, dozens of French fries, half eaten chicken wings, and plastic gloves under the table. The server had to clean them himself and then call over the manager to show him other tables in the same area. Was pretty disgusting. - came for the playoff football games- we arrived just before the second game. When the first game ended, they screens stayed on that channel playing the post game show and then some irrelevant college basketball game. Had to ask three different people to get the channels changed to the second football game - which was absurd. One person even snapped at me about it. - apparently their NFL game specials were not valid on wild card weekend. That's a direct quote. Only th3 regular season and the "real playoffs". Why would the restaurant bother explicitly excluding wild card weekend?? Bizarre. - the check took an absurdly long time to get paid. Kid you not - asked for the check just as the second quarter was ending and finally got 5o sign and get our cards back at the 10:00 mark of the their quarter. Roughly half an hour later! Many more absurdities with regards to service, including pushing odd substitutoons for things they were out of without checking with us. Man. I have had two main experiences at this Dave & Buster's, so this is an overall review. I had my wedding reception here. My husband and I are both introverts but love to play games, so it was much more of a celebration with friends and family a few months after we actually got married. The event staff were great with keeping in touch and providing options for everyone, knowing that there were dietary restrictions that ran the gamut. There was more than enough food, which is always a fear at events that are buffet-style. They even brought us takeout boxes without asking so that people could take home the leftovers. Wonderful service and great times! I just wish they hadn't removed Skeeball. That was disheartening. Having several "tokens" leftover, we went back to play some games after seeing a movie. We started with food, and it was just OK. My fish and chips were way too greasy, and because the fish was placed on top of the french fries, the fries became soggy and greasy. The waitress was nice, but she was very soft spoken, and the noise from the games makes it hard to hear much of anything. She came up once, and I didn't even know she had asked my partner anything. I'll go back, but I'll make sure to eat in advance. Playing games is really the only reason anyone should go. read more

1st review of 2017 (: So far I'm not impressed. Its the smallest DNB in Maryland. It's in the heart of DTSS, good luck in getting a table. Say Grace before eating as the food falls expectations. Drinks are the worst. Either it's watered down or wrong. Poor attitudes across the board from wait staff, bartenders and mgmt. There should be a cut off time for the kids to be at a place that serves alcohol late at night. Kids roam loose like this is Chuck E Cheese. Parents don't watch their kids or control them. Young adults come in and loiter all over the place without making any food or game purchase and they reek of a "particular odor." The games are my favorite as I could shoot hoops, play Mario or Transformers all night long. There's little to no security here. Here they use an armed security guy but he is never paying attention and was some game on his phone. At least at the Capital Heights location and use real police officers who don't put up with any non sense. Out of the three locations AA, CH SS this is the worst locations. My friends and I love coming here for the video games and the drink specials when they get it right. Half Price Games on Wednesdays!!! Decided to go to this location to play some games. Since it was a weeknight, seemed pretty laid-back and not that crowded. Really enjoyed going around to play different games, especially the Star Trek Coin Pusher. Got a whole lot of collectible cards and Blue/Orange Chip Coins in a couple of hours! Only trouble was that the machine kept getting stuck, so had to call the maintenance guy a few times since the coins and cards kept getting stuck a couple of times. I visited D&B after reading the other recent Yelp reviews, so had very low expectations. I think a lot of the server-related grievances noted by other reviewers stem in large part from customers not understanding how ordering and table service have changed since pandemic times. For example: everything you want for the table needs to be requested via mobile ordering, using the QR code on the table. This differs from most other sit-down restaurants I've been to since pandemic times, which will at least bring water, napkins, silverware, etc. to the table automatically. My suggestion for D&B is to develop informational materials that clearly explain this new process--that customers need to use their mobile phones as their primary interface with the restaurant, not their server, with reminders that even water needs to be ordered that way. (D&B, if this is NOT the process you had in mind, maybe you need stronger internal messaging to servers on expectations for their roles.) Our table ordered messy finger food--nachos and wings--and didn't receive any napkins. We waited a few minutes after the food arrived in case the server needed to make another trip back to the kitchen for whatever reason. But, I ended up having to flag someone down to get napkins, and the fries I ordered and paid for that must have been forgotten. Fries were fine, and others in our group said the pasta was also good, but the wings were not good. The cocktails were also disappointingly inconsistent--we ordered two of the exact same cocktail, and one was significantly stronger than the other one. Beyond that--there were a LOT of menu items that were "out of stock" in the mobile ordering interface. Over half the cocktails were not available. D&B also used to have Impossible burgers, and I was looking forward to having one, but the menu says the plant-based burger is a Lightlife veggie patty, which is nowhere near the quality of Impossible or Beyond burgers. The menu was a huge disappointment--but I guess I should have checked online. Games themselves were perfectly fine. If we come back, it will be purely for the games as the menu and dining experience were super disappointing. If the menu items are overpriced (they are--soft pretzel for $15, no thanks--that's more than 2x the cost of pretzels at DISNEY WORLD which is the king of being over-priced), the food needs to be available, and service needs to primarily come from a human being and not a mobile interface. read more

I haven't been to Dave & Buster's in such a long time, and while it was fun spending time with friends and the new newlyweds, it could have started off better for me. I came in, and while scanning through the menu, the fire alarm went off. So we all had to get out of the building and wait an hour to get back inside. Outside was burning hot, and I was starving, and when the door opened, I returned and ordered something quick: fries and Margherita pizza. I waited for 30 minutes, and the order was made electronically. So, I see everyone else was getting their food in time while I was still waiting. Another 20 minutes had passed, and my food had yet to arrive. I went to the bar and asked the bartender to get someone from the back. One of the staff came up to me and apologized for the error with the machine and would come back with my order. I went back to my seat and waited for another 20 minutes. Food arrived, and even though it was decent, I had lost my appetite for the night. I played a few games, and it was nostalgic to play old machines that I had played when I was younger. This Dave and Buster's is insanely nice! It's huge and extravagant ! It's really bright and the bar area has so many TVs! We came here after a concert at the Fillmore since it was the only place still serving food. Our waiter was nice but he seemed drunk or high. It took us a little while for him to come over. The tables were all dirty. The manager did check on us which was a plus. I got a margarita and the avocado toast which was SOOO good! It's a new item I believe and seriously worth a try. My friend got the nachos which also were really good. The drink was good, overall the prices weren't bad. The overall experience was pretty good and I definitely wish the Dave and Buster's in our areas were this nice. Terrible service! I literally sat at the bar for 30 minutes and the bartenders and the waiters literally walked right past me more than five times. Marissa our server literally walked by us more than three times and finally came to us after 40mins and had the nerve to say that she has been walking by checking on us when she never said a damn word. Unfortunately Dave & Buster's seems to have had to hire new staff during the pandemic and the new folks know nothing about my very favorite attraction-- the Taste for Tickets option. My husband and I used to go all the time and were excited for a birthday trip post-covid. When we got there and asked to buy some appetizers with our tickets the young man said he "knows nothing about that" and they "stopped doing that here." So we went to ask the wait staff and they, too, were completely clueless. We asked if there was a manager we could ask but the manager sent the word back that they had stopped it. It's a shame because that's really the only reason we spend money on the games. I did check the website and didn't see anything about them removing this option so it would have been nice for literally any of the staff to be aware of what's happening. read more

The waitress was rude and the food came out barely lukewarm and some of the burgers and sandwiches were soggy. Been here several times now, mainly because C enjoys playing games here. The games are pretty well maintained and they have tons of games to satisfy a variety of ages. I like how tickets won are kept on your card now. Prices for the games are reasonable, with games being half-price on Wednesdays. We usually try to avoid eating food here because service is super slow and the food is just okay. There's self-seating, so often times you won't see a server for awhile. Once one does come your way, I suggest ordering everything at once because it will be awhile for them to come back. Once your drinks/food is dropped off, you'll be lucky if they come back to check on you until the drop your bill off. I've tried the Caveman Combo (pork ribs tossed in a Sriracha honey, four mini-cheeseburgers, and fries), Buster's cheeseburger with bacon, and the crispy Nashville-style hot chicken (crispy boneless hand-battered chicken breasts marinated in Nashville-style hot sauce, Parmesan creamed spinach, and garlic mashed potatoes). All three were just okay. I enjoyed the mini-cheeseburgers from the Caveman Combo the most and the Nashville-style hot chicken the least. You can tell the chicken was fried with old oil, which wasn't tasty. Luckily when I communicated this with the waiter, he didn't hesitate to bring me a new dish. However, it was still just okay. Pretty standard D&B that's comparable to other locations. It's conveniently located in a shopping plaza in downtown Silver Spring next to a free parking garage. I've been to this location a few times now and I have to say that the food service is disappointing. I would recommend going elsewhere to eat because staff is not attentive and service in general is incredibly slow. As for the arcade and gaming portions, I went this past Wednesday night with a friend for their half-prices deal. This was definitely worth the money. We spent a total of $40 and barely went through half of the credits we purchased over a course of 3 hours. This location was very empty too so there's no line or waits to play games. My friend ended up winning 2 small plushies for me in one of the crane-games. There was also a slight issue with having several of their machines out of order, however I was still pretty happy with how the night went. It's in the heart of downtown Silver Spring on the top floor or Ellsworth, with ample parking in Wayne or Ellsworth. Seemingly small, but it's packed with all the goodies, and there's good time to be had here. I call this D&B the hidden Gem of S.S. Not a lot of people come to this location unless you are local in the area. People tend to flock to Laurel or Arundel because it is bigger. This location has enough games for mom, dad, Judy, and baby Billy. They may not have the huge 3 pointer basketball but it is definitely worth visiting and getting out the house. The staff are amazing and so there absolute best to keep everyone happy, and safe during this time. I strong suggest paying this location a visit. Ordered the Thai Chicken Chopped Salad and was nothing like the advertised picture on their menu/online. I was here on Friday night and was completed disappointed and even annoyed. A group of us were there before the Led Zeppelin experience at the Fillmore. I was hungry and wanted a decent meal. I didn't want a burger since I had a burger the night before. Also, a lot of things I wanted were ridiculously high calories. There were quite a few things I was eliminating. When the server asked what I wanted, I asked him two questions about the Philly Cheesesteak. First, I asked if I could get the veggies instead of fries (since I had fries for lunch and didn't want to eat fries twice in the same day). He said yes, but warned me that it was just broccoli. The fact that it wasn't mixed veggies was a bit of a disappointment, but I'm cool with broccoli. One second after I placed the order, I remembered the other question I was going to ask. I said, "Oh what kind of cheese is it? assuming he would probably say provolone, possibly Swiss, or even cheddar" He said that it is White American. Surprised, my response was do you have anything to replace the cheese with, and he said regular American. I reiterated, "So, you don't have provolone, cheddar, or Swiss?" He said no just those two. Shocked, I said I'm changing the order. At that point, I didn't have a second choice picked. So, I scrabbled through the menu. He recommended a certain pasta dish. I said, "It has the same kind of cheese, so no I don't want that." I asked him about the Sirloin steak (since it was under 1200 calories). He said that some people like this, and some like the New York strip better; it's a preference. I said that I don't have a strong opinion. The sirloin was $2 cheaper at $17.99; so I went with that. Now, I'm getting one of the most expensive items on the menu, and my standards have now increased because now I'm spending $18 + tax + tip instead of $10-15 for most dishes. When the steak arrives, he asked if I wanted any steak sauce, and I said yes. I proceed to eat my food one at a time like I normally do generally saving the meat last. I eat the fried onion strings, and they were decent. Then, I go to the 'loaded' mashed potatoes, and they were sub par in quantity and quality. They were instant mashed potatoes, which is ok, but not great either. After I finished my onion strings and mashed potatoes, now, I'm ready for the steak, which looked at least halfway good. At this point, he still hadn't come around with the steak sauce. I'm thinking it's a good thing that I eat my food one at a time; the vast majority of people would've already gotten to the steak at this point since most will eat a little of A, then go to some B, then C, and back & forth. I'm starting to cut the steak, and he comes around with the A-1 sauce apologizing for taking so long. I take the first bite without the A-1 to get a true taste. This steak was dry and rubbery. Also, there was no steak knife; so I struggled to cut this. I let my friend try a bite and asked her opinion. She responded, "Eww, this is the worst steak I've ever had" and further commented on the dryness. I told her that I know, and I agree that this has to be the worst steak I've ever had. After I finished, we had to wait a while for our bills, and we were kind of in a rush at that point because we heard that the Fillmore was getting pretty full. We finally get our bill, and I paid cash since I didn't want to waste time waiting for a credit card. I liked their happy hour, their drinks were great (even though it was hard to get one of the bartenders attention), I had at least two drinks and they were great. The place is pretty loud because of the games and kids which wasn't that bad. Also they have a ton of televisions with different sports channels, so if that's your thing, its great. I ordered a turkey burger with buffalo chicken fingers and fried onions ring on it, yeah its the ultimate gluttony burger but it was great! The only thing i hated was the fact turkey burger patty was obviously one of those premade patties that you buy frozen from the store (gross), but the chicken fingers and onion rings were great! Please avoid! This is location is located inside of the mall and it's all the way at the top near Burlington Coat Factory. It's better to catch the elevator....but even that can take awhile but, it's better than the maze of the escalators. This location is very small. I went on 01/13 closeto 10pm and I was trying to figure out why I needed to show my ID when entering the establishment? Is this not a place for kids? And if I was entering with a party of two why can't one ID suffice, especially if I see little kids walking around...did they have to show their ID's as well? I'm just picky, but I found no reason for that! Major turn off because I thought I was entering club D&B. As I walk in I see unruly kids....whom lack hometraining. So I specifically came here for libations ( I was asked to show my ID again...but this time it made sense)....because typically D&B has good drinks....wrong! As I sit down at the bar, I am handed a very sticky menu and again, I am turned off! How are these menus sticky already...you've been open for less than 6 months....just nasty. Are they not wiped down daily or in between patrons? The bartender I had was very lackluster. She did not deserve a tip...but I'll talk more about that in a few. As I sit down, I notice a small nuclear family sitting at the bar and I ask myself....how sway? The baby is at the bar in the mother's arm? No mas! I also noticed the 3+ empty glasses to the left of me not picked up....I again, internally ask myself how sway? Then as I ordered my drink...it came however, there was not an announcement of my drink being placed. Rather my drink sat there not being announced....it probably felt like it didn't count. And I wanted it to know that it did. Anywho, I drunk it and it was watery and basic....Not worth the money. As, I promptly drank this one drink...the bill comes and guess what? gratuity is automatically included...if I worked there I probably wouldn't work too hard myself....it couldn't be decreased or taken away... I felt like it was not worth it. The level of service I received wasn't tip worthy....like real-life. If it wasn't for the 2nd person recognizing it...this mediocre chica would've gotten a major tip...for being mediocre. At my job, I don't get tips for being basic....So as walking out I see someone who appears to be manger and I addressed my concerned but let's be honest, he really didn't seem phased by this. If i could select zero stars i absolutely would. My first problem is that we paid a $20 cover to get in simply because the fight was one, which my friend and I didn't care about. The fight was $80 on ppv but for some Reason I covered 1/4 of the cost with just my admission alone. Secondly after getting my food, the chicken wings were close to cold, the garlicky parmesan wings had no sauce on them whatsoever. When i asked for more sauce for the wings the waiter actually told me no. He also slammed my friends carrots on the table So hard that one slid off the table. The truffle fries were basically a gimmick and just sour garlic fries, they don't taste or smell like truffle oil, salt, or anything. Finally the rude ass waiter who decided to ask me how do i split up my money in my accounts. My card initially declined due to a wrongful transfer i hd hust made in front of him. For what it's worth -- I came in with very mediocre expectations, but just looking for some late food and games. I've wanted to re-live some of my chuck-e-cheese childhood memories as an adult, so why not? There were 3 of us. I bought two of the 2-card Groupons that were available for this location. Groupon also had a 20% discount that day, so we got 2 cards with 110 game points on them (activation fees waived) for $16. We then purchased a second one, so in total, for $32, we got 4 game cards with 110 points on each. It was PLENTY for about 2 hours of play time. Totally worth it. The game cards worked for ALL of the games except the virtual reality upgrades. Also, staff was already prepared for the Groupons and just gave us pre-loaded cards as soon as they saw the Groupon voucher. Super easy and super chill. Majority of games were working, with a few exceptions. Honestly, it's as expected with the number of people there. For the dance revolution-type game, it didn't even require game points which was fun. I got my fill on games and in the end, had enough for a couple of cool prizes (in my opinion though, the prize variety wasn't the best... it's more toys/souvenirs, while I like to find more practical-types of things, so I ended up getting a pom-pom keychain charger and a yoshi plush for keeps). Bathrooms were clean and fine. It was semi-crowded, but not bad at all. Food was fine - again, no complaints. I got their watermelon/strawberry cocktail with the berry infused ice cubes and it was super sweet -- oh to my liking. I loved it. We also got pepperoni pretzel pullaparts, ultimate nachos, sliders, chicken & waffles, and lots of fries. For 3 of us, it was a lot of food, but the quality was fine. Again, no complaints. You kind of get what you expect. Kind of like bar food -- I'm sure some of the other dishes would have been over expectations -- we just literally got simple junk food type things. Our waiter was a little careless, but if you come with the right attitude, I thought it was pretty funny. He kept walking by and literally sliding things onto our table with this semi-condescending look, but you could tell it was just the kind of person he was, nothing personal. I was laughing at it.
