When we need to get out of our house with our six year old, a solid option is always Dave and busters for some fun! We visited on New Year's Eve and surprisingly, it wasn't very crowded. Most of the games worked and the staff was friendly. I love that they have a wide selection of games for everyone whether you're 10, 20, or 40 and they have single player games and games you can play with friends. Service is absolutely horrible. Staff would rather b.s. with each other than pay attention to their customers Waited 20 minutes for pretzel sticks to have with our beer. They obviously sat in the window for a long time because the ends were so hard you couldn't bite them, and the cheese sauce had a film on the top that was hard to break through. My son and I came for Saturday night, fun. We had never been to Dave & Buster's before. We decided to eat first. The dining area was large and we were sat right away. Our server was nice, but it was loud so it could be hard to hear at times. We ordered the kids chicken bites and I had the chicken Parmesan. It was early so I was able to get the gameplay special which made my meal worthwhile. My son loved his dish and mine was OK. The pasta was good, but the chicken was a little small and next time I would try a different dish. After we ate, we used an app reward to get extra tokens. We were able to enjoy several games. I liked how you could just tap the card and everything was visible on the app. We had about 500 tickets and save them to get a big prize next time. I have been to the location in Winston-Salem, NC, a few times before, and I have always had a great time, and this time was no different. Since my last visit a few years ago, they have added some new games, which is always a welcome surprise. A new game that caught my attention was the life-sized Hungry, Hungry Hippos game. Playing it in a bigger version was fun than the board game we all played as kids and brought back some good nostalgia. While I did not have a bad experience here, I will say that you should steer clear of the food; it is overpriced and, truthfully, not good. I have had an appetizer and an entrée in my previous experiences, and I remember it being bland and dissatisfying. The mozzarella cheese sticks were small, and as much breading as they were cheese, and the cheese steak was more bread than anything else. This is why when I went there, I ate before I got there to avoid getting trapped in the calamity of the food at Dave & Buster's. The food issues aside, I enjoy coming here and playing games. It is nice that you do not have to fool with quarters or money, and the tickets you win for playing said games is uploaded to your card. That is extremely nice and makes life easier when you want to return to Dave & Busters, as you do not have to pay a fee to activate the card again, and the tickets stay on the card. read more

We bought $300 in gift cards as gifts at Christmas and got $60 in bonus gift cards that we were planning to use this weekend. We went in and found out that the bonus cards expired, but that was not communicated on the cards or in the email itself. The manager (who took 15 minutes to come talk to us) could not do anything about it, so we reached out to corporate. Corporate got back to us quickly, but in spite of their lack of communication refused to honor the bonus cards. We will not be gifting D&B gift cards again and they will not ever get our business again. read more

I normally don't go there for the food, as the games are always a big hit, especially on date nights or with a group. But the food here is really good, the bartender was nice and the food came out presentable and hot. Ordered the "Pretzel Dogs" and the "Cheese Stick Stack". This is a fun place to visit especially if you have a kid and want to keep them busy. Let me start off by saying this Dave and busters has the best Coca-Cola I have ever had. I don't know how they keep it but it was fizzy, spicy and not syrupy. They serve it well. We ordered a chicken bite kids meal for my three-year-old niece and it was poorly done. It was a dry chicken strip that was cut into 5 pieces. There were some fries under the bites. We also ordered some chicken wings and chicken strips. They were both dry. There's nothing to rave about here. I recommend the Carolina sauce. The Korean sauce was too sweet. The fries on the side were tasty. The games for the most part are a money trap but it's fun. Went here last Sunday on a date and we both were not impressed with this place. It caught our attention due to the games and thought what a great way to chill and hang out but the games were mediocre at best. Mainly geared towards kids than adults. I get this is a "family" friendly location but it seemed majority of the games were child like. They had air hockey but no skeet ball. The closest was the bowling game. They did have the basketball game and racing games that brought back childhood memories but it could be better in my opinion especially for the price to play these games. The beer also wasn't very cold and the air conditioning didn't seem to be on or wasn't turned down to a comfortable temperature. We likely won't be back. read more

We had a great experience until an interaction with the General Manager. We spent $180 dining in followed by the arcade. We are level 7 rewards members so we spend lots of time at Dave & Buster's. I went to the bar and waited a while before being helped. I wasn't bothered by waiting as I was in no rush. The General Manager noticed me waiting and said I'd be helped momentarily. I placed my order with a bartender. A few minutes later, that General Manager handed the drink to me, asked me to tell him how it was, and as I was opening my wallet, he said "You're good, don't worry about it." I'm a food service General Manager myself, so I'm familiar with this phrase meaning "It's on us". Three minutes later, I was tracked down by the original bartender with a receipt, stating that I left without paying the tab! This was not the bartenders fault. This is poor communication by the General Manager and I feel awful for the staff at this Dave & Buster's for these sorts of experiences. Side note: For a Friday night, it was very quiet at this Dave & Buster's! My family was shocked to experience such a quiet experience for a Friday. Service--by that, I mean, what service? If you don't mind going to the bar to be ignored for 40 minutes without an acknowledgment or anything, then this is where you need to go. Yes, they are under-staffed. In this day and age, I'm not sure how any restaurants can staff to par but Outback in High Point certainly did so and exceeded our expectations yesterday serving up a delicious meal in record time and giving outstanding expectations.. Was this an anomaly? No I guess we're a glutton for punishment because the exact same thing happened last time. I guess we were just plain dumb thinking we would have a different experience this year. it's not exactly like we came at a busy time at 3:30 in the afternoon either. I almost banged my head against the stall door because of this. I ran away from the man and I told an employee there and they said that they can't do anything about it. I don't like leaving bad reviews, I hope the location can work on their issues. I don't know if they were understaffed or what was going on. We went on a Saturday night. It seems the place is better off for people standing at the bar drinking, with police on standby. We had a good waitress for the first 30 minutes of being there, but she would disappear for long periods of time. Most of our food orders were incorrect. We kept having to ask for items such as food and drinks. I sent the rest of my party off to play games and tried to wait around to pay for the meal. After asking a couple of folks, I had to finally flag down the manager and complain about our service and pay our bill. I'm talking this process took several hours of waiting and asking around. I was offered no compensation and just decided that next time we will eat somewhere else and stick to the games. read more

This place is way better then the 2 1/2 stars it gets on its reviews. We have been here a dozen times. Staff is awesome, if something breaks or doesn't payout a jackpot they make it right. Food is quick serve restaurant style - so critics should expect a TGIFridays kind of dinner. Place is as clean as it can be for the foot traffic. They post a sheriff during busy times so it's as safe as a place can be. We have fun every time. We bring our 8 year old with no issues. I say 4 stars but gave 5 on rating to boost them - definitely not 2 1/2 stars - don't be afraid to come here. Save your card - download the app on your phone and you can skip the register at the front by loading your own play card before you get there. Save your tickets and get something good. All of the games here work and it is possible to hit the big jackpots - we do. Crane machines are questionable - but rest of stuff is good. Go have some fun! read more

Yesterday was my daughter's 33rd birthday and she wanted to have a little fun at Dave & Buster's to be a bit nostalgic of birthday parties she had growing up. We all met in the restaurant for a meal first. My husband and I were the last to arrive and my daughter and her crew had already ordered drinks and appetizers. The server took our drink order and walked away. The appetizers arrived, still no bar drinks for my husband and I. Our niece asked for a sweet tea and it arrived nearly an hour after we requested it, after we asked another server to get it. The server arrived to take our food order, but only took mine and my husband's. The other side of the table had to run after the server to have her come back. Service was SLOW and the server had a bit of an attitude in her delivery, never really looking us in the eye as she spoke. Everyone at our table works in the customer service industry and while we extended a certain amount of grace, trying hard to give the server and Dave & Buster's the benefit of the doubt, there never seemed to be any accountability, honesty or real customer service....when bar drinks took so long, we heard..."We're busy.", "I don't know what happened. I'll put it in again, but there are 10 tickets ahead of you", etc. We SAW the bar, it was in our line of sight. We did see the bartender making drinks, but they didn't appear to be overwhelmed with drink orders. Nevertheless, sweet tea doesn't come from the bar. Our food was delivered to other tables, we had to call the runner over when we heard/saw the order and the people at the table appeared confused. Our table was receiving orders from other tables, so much so, that when our actual food DID arrive, we said "no". The food was terribly staggered. Don't forget, the server took mine and my husband's food order first...the kids order came first, no problem, we understood that. Then mine arrived. I don't like to eat before the other adults at the table get their food, but it took so long for the next dishes to come out, my husband told me to eat. By that time, my food wasn't hot. I wasn't going to say anything b/c the wait would be longer. Some more orders staggered out a short time later. EVERYONE was finished before the 2 burgers for the table arrived. The food was not hot, you could see where the melted cheese had cooled b/c the color had changed. The kids at the table were so anxious to play and we had been sitting at the table for over 2 hours already, that we just boxed food up to take with us. It was clear there was disorganization as people who appeared to be managers were trying to sort out tables/food too. However, the managers never approached our table to ask about service or apologize for any apparent errors. Finally our server arrived, in tears, (still no apology) and we just asked to be cashed out. We also asked for 2 boxes. She returned with both boxes, put one down on the table, then walked off with the 2nd one. I went to the server station area and requested the box. She handed it to me without any apology or even an explanation why she didn't put it down. After cashing out, we all enjoyed the game area.  Being from Greensboro, we prefer coming to Winston-Salem b/c the Cary location seems a bit smaller and Charlotte is just a bit too far, but I'm not sure we'll be eating in Winston-Salem anymore. read more

Me and my friend went to dave and busters the other day, the tables were clean, the waiter was nice! But the plates were dirty and there was a food crumb on one of the plates, also there no silverware, yet the other tables had silverware on the tables? So my friend went to table beside us and got the silverware from another table. The wait for food was about 30-20 mins. Once the food got to our table it looked good and tasted good, considering it's an arcade. Overall this wouldn't be my weekly or usual dinner, But it's definitely a one time and done kinda thing. read more

I love coming here with the kiddos (ages 7,8 & 10) especially on Wednesdays when games are half off. Great location inside of Hanes mall if you need to take a break and grab something to eat or do some shopping. We really enjoy the VR which is $5 per person. Staff is also helpful. read more

Disclaimer: I come to Dave & Buster's (D&B) all over the country for game play exclusively. I have played at D&B at numerous locations countless times, but have only eaten at any of them once. With that said, the game play at Winston-Salem D&B is amazing. This visit I drove 1 hour 20 minutes to Winston-Salem D&B from Charlotte. Concord D&B and Pineville D&B are both much closer to me (30 minute drive) but BOTH are run consistently poorly. But driving to Winston-Salem was well worth it. The game techs are professional and friendly; and the gift shop is well stocked also. I really, really wish they had SnowCross at this location, but it's not a deal breaker for me. The place is very clean and well kept. All the games I played were working and even the bathroom was spotless. I like that. I was very comfortable here since the staff was very welcoming. I'm a big fan of the Star Wars: Vader Immortal dojo and noticed the sound was very low. I requested a game tech and two actually came over. They went above and beyond and were able to increase the sound to my amazement. It made my experience playing the game soooooooooooooo much better. At other D&B I've gone too (ESPECIALLY Concord) the game techs are far too lazy to prioritize the customer experience and the Managers are too pathetic to care either. But at Winston-Salem the culture is completely different. I applaud that. I'll definitely be back. In fact, I may make this place my mainstay. Game play is exceptional here. We went last night for our yearly Birthday outing. Party of 16, 8 of them kids. The kitchen, our server, the manager, and others kicked in to get all our food out together and hot. Wings were crispy and good. My wife and I split the grilled salmon. As I ordered it, I thought "what am I doing?? Salmon in a burger and wing joint..." But it came out perfect! Wow the VIP event last night was amazing! A buffet, drinks and free plays on their large arcade at Hanes Mall Shopping Center. The food was terrific and all items from the event will make it to the menu. The District Mgr said the prices on food will be everthing from appetizers to full on dinners priced from $12.99 to $26.99. A big prize room is available to trade in your points on your power card and tickets for anything from large stuffed animals to an ipad! There is a big room w lots of big screen tvs for watching any sport you like. Your gonna wanna live there in your spare time. Check it out, it opens May 18 where Sears store used to be. read more

I visited here with my whole family who came to the Triad to visit me for my mothers birthday about a month or so ago. My mother wished to come here, so we did! We sat in an area where you ordered your food online and wasn't assigned a server. There were servers close by if need be. We ordered at 8:55pm and our drinks came in about 2 minutes. I ordered a Shrimp dip that arrived at 9pm. It was very cold. At first, we was unsure if it was meant to be cold or not. We asked a waiter, who didn't know. The manager came and said it was warm. After informing him it was cold, he took it away and a new come came at 9:12pm. This one was hot and delicious! Our food came at 9:14pm and it was great. I ordered truffle fries and BBQ Wings. My son got a cheese pizza. I also got some pretzel dogs. No complaints really. We really enjoyed spending time together playing games and celebrating my moms birthday. read more

Such a vast swing in ratings here and please note my rating is based on my great experience in the arcade with my wife and son. The immediate notice upon entering was how clean it was and how fresh the air was. I know the air thing may be corny but it was noticeable. There were tables scattered among the games to, I assume, to place any glasses down so you can enjoy the games. I never saw a dirty table nor an excessive, maybe 2, empty glasses sitting around. The carpet was clean, with no trash scattered. For the virtual reality headset, they had wipes at the game so you are able to wipe the equipment down prior to use. The bathrooms were spotless and well kept. The staff were very friendly and attended to a problem we had with too many basketballs getting hung up in the net of the basketball game. I just HAD to assess the bar so I took it upon myself to buy a few beers and found the bar area equally clean. ...see a trend forming of importance?....as all other areas. Took the family last weekend and boy did I regret it. There were 5 of us, including the two kids. We ordered 2 kids meals and 3 entrees and it cost over $90. Two of the entrees were 10 chicken wings... The food, simply put, is just awful. My burger was dry, did not come with any condiments and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 20 minutes. I might as well had taken my family to a gas station. The chicken wings were over cooked, and under sauced. The kids pretzel dogs were hard and cold. The Mac N Cheese had very little cheese or flavoring making it rubbery and inedible. We had a Dave N Busters back home that had good food and was a great place to take the family to watch football, eat and play some games. This one, not so much. Stay away. read more

I came to this location with my family the other day and the waiters were friendly but the sanitation and lack of silverware was disappointing. On one of the plates I found food and lots of grease marks like they have not been cleaned. We asked for another set of silverware and we're told they did not have any but there were unoccupied tables with full sets of silverware my friend pointed it out and asked the waitress if she could just get the silverware from the other table. The waitress did not get the silverware and my friend had to go get it from another table. The food was good and the portions for kids were very good. The games are fun for little kiddos and adults although when I was going around the game section looking for games I came across a pack of grape cigarettes and was highly disappointed that that was around young kids and family's . Overall I think other might've had a better experience than I did and I would not take your young kiddos here there were police outside and inside. read more

Walked in to a halfway empty space, asked if a free table could be cleaned off to accommodate our family of six, I was told by the front door host that they had a bus boy and I just needed to wait and be patient. I just simply asked if we could have the booth to accommodate our family and toddler who did not need to be seated in a high top chair. After seated we had a very nice waiter who was sweet but waited until everyone else's meal came out (and brought the wrong meal for my partner) to tell us they ran out of what they ordered. After everyone was finished eating they brought out his meal. I can see why this business has gone downhill and after not having been in here for a while, I see we haven't missed much. Ok, so I am conflicted. On one side, zero stars. On the other, 5. So here I am at three. Food service is shit. There is no other way to say it. You will wait, get the wrong stuff, continue to wait, wait some more, maybe get what you ordered and then wait. I watched every server in there and none of them were on their game. According to someone else who worked there, this was always a complaint every single night. But! Their saving grace is all those games! My whole mood was changed going and getting to play games. There was literally something for anyone. I ended up getting a decent amount of tickets too with just about $40 in play. Then I got extremely excited about the prize store. Our server was very attentive and respectful..but the communication between the kitchen and wait staff is obviously very poor. Two of my friends ordered buffalo wings .. fried hard. They were very undercooked , raw.. the chicken was bloody and translucent!!! Also I had ordered some chicken nachos and wasn't told they were out till my other four friends food was out!! Went to Dave & Busters to play games and eat wings. Ended up getting played instead. I'm not sure which pigeon was killed to make the wings but I hope it didn't suffer. Dave would be rolling over in his grave if he knew the size of wings that were being served and I don't even know if Dave is dead. As I sat here eating my extra small wings and flimsy carrots with no snap to them, I had one glimmer of hope that at least I had my coke.
