Delicious, efficient, festive. I was driving by and saw the diner so I thought I'd stop in for a late breakfast. I'm glad I did, but there was a bit of a wait. U like other diners in the area, they don't have a counter to sit at, so for one person I had to wait. I was taken care of by Angie, and she was nice, but a bit elusive at times. A old timey diner in a new strip mall. Interior was bright and decorated with golf stuff. The staff was rocking their pro football team colors. We were seated right away and our drink order taken. We both ordered the two egg breakfast. Eggs different ways but both with crispy bacon. And the bacon was awesome. Crispy and flavorful. Hash browns just crispy enough. My eggs were cooked well, hot and runny. As I have said before if the law is there for breakfast it is probably a good spot. Proven out again. Six police officers in the diner when we got there. This place has become my new comfort spot for breakfast! The hospitality goes way back from some of these servers coming from Woodsby Diner in Kissimmee. The food is amazing and always on point! Looked up places to eat since I was in the area for an early appointment. After looking at the menu online I just knew this was the place to go. I arrived and was greeted immediately by the hostess she took my order. The BLT was ready in less than 5 minutes. This was the best BLT I've had in a long time. Food was delicious but what made it the most memorable was our sweet fantastic waitress! She told us to call her Aye girl. She has been the best waitress that I have ever experienced in all my years dining at different places domestic and abroad. I'm 72 so thats saying something! Davenport Diner really shined during our visit. Our server Tara was a delight the entire mean, offering frequent refills and meal suggestions for our first visit. I had the chicken and waffle special. The chicken was seasoned extremely well and the waffle was fluffy. The sausage gravy was a curious choice at first but paired deliciously with the syrup. We ended up here when we took a wrong turn for another restaurant. Instead of backtracking, we stopped, and boy, were we glad we did. BEST PLACE EVER. First of all, Miguel. He was AWESOME. Hilarious. Friendly. Helpful. He filled coffee, told jokes, and was attentive without driving us crazy. We would come back just to have Miguel serve us again. Second, the breakfast was delicious. The biscuits melt in your mouth. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Kudos to the chefs. Lastly, the staff was efficient turning tables at a reasonable rate. Stopped by the Davenport Diner recently for a late breakfast. While there was a good crowd there, and for good reason, we didn't have to wait and got right to a table. Everyone, especially our waitress was super polite and the service just excellent. The interior was clean and new and the decorations on the wall just screamed Polk County. Specials were written on cards and I was ecstatic to see that they featured scrapple on this day. I had the meat omlette, hash browns and scrapple as a side. Everything was delicious and the homemade scrapple was some of the best I've had. Finally, any great southern breakfast spot needs to have great biscuits and the biscuits here are a home run. I like very strong coffee, but that is simply my preference, my son loved the coffee here and while it was good, that's my only constructive take away. Overall, just a fantastic experience at the Davenport Diner and I know this will be a regular stop every time I'm in the area. If you haven't tried this place, I highly suggest you do. read more

A happy place to go for Mother's Day with a surprise at every turn. Our efficient, friendly & attentive server Courtney R says the diner has been been here 8-years. It's at the end of a strip center with an unremarkable exterior & predictable decor (golf & witty plaques). But man, they lovingly put the HOME in my home fries & have awesome French fries (no seasoned coating) it's the little things! I'm updating my review after many years. This place has become part of my family's lives and. traditions. We have been coming here since my son was a tiny baby. The staff joke that if you wanna know how old the restaurant is just look at my son. We eat here every week. My MIL brought my son once and didn't know what to get him but the staff knew exactly what he ordered. Most of the servers know my drink order without even saying it. The food is always delicious. For breakfast we love the meat, lovers omelette, and just the classic breakfast, but be sure to switch out your bread for the little pancakes as their pancakes are truly excellent. For lunch I love the chicken tenders or the chicken fried chicken. they do an excellent job with their fried chicken here. My favorite day to come is Saturday because I love the beef Mac soup. Not terrible, very edible, but not any better (maybe worse?) Than I could make at home. After my first bite of the sandwich I said to my husband that I'd rather be at Cracker Barrel. I also ordered corned beef hash. There are two types of corned beef hash. The dog food looking type, and the large chunks of potato and corned beef fresh type. I actually prefer the former, and also ask the server if they have the canned stuff or the fresh stuff, and this server couldn't answer the question. I can't believe it's been five years since I last reviewed this place. I don't get to come here often as technically I'm not supposed to even be eating most of the food they serve. That being said, I have to say that I really do enjoy dining here. They really have a diner feel with the decor that they have. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I got the corn beef hash with scrambled eggs and hash-browns, all well done, along with a biscuit and a side of well-done bacon. I also ordered an apple juice to drink. Everything tasted great, and I was surprised I did not regret eating it later. The plate of food they give you is humongous with generous helping of all three items. The side of bacon was the biggest side I have seen in ages. The buttermilk biscuit was buttery and delicious. They provide a wide variety of items on the table, such as butter, creamer, jellies and sauces. by the time I was finished, I was quite full and satisfied for the rest of the day. For what I received the prices were reasonable for these days. On my own, I spent about $20 for breakfast. It was worth it. I wish I could eat this foodmore frequently, but they are not as convenient to where I live or approved by my doctors. Terribly disappointed in the service, 2 couples came in after us ate their dinners and left and we still did not get our meals. Meals were not good, they were out of a favorite and people who came in after us got that item. My husband had fish that looked like an overcooked hamburger and peas and carrots that looked like they were poured out of a can and overcooked. Our order arrived quickly, and the French toast was perfect--soft on the inside and crunchy on the edges. The coffee was flavorful, and the presentation on the plate was very nice. It's located in a small shopping strip with a good amount of parking in the parking lot. It's a nice sized diner, with plenty of seating and good for groups. Angie was our server and she was great! We all ordered drinks, water, coffee & hot tea. My parents said the coffee was pretty good. The menu has breakfast and lunch items that can be ordered no matter the time. We all decided on breakfast fare. We ordered blueberry pancakes, fluffy pancakes, french toast and the country Benedict. Everything was really good. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were so fluffy and delicious. They were huge, I only had 1 1/2 of the stack of 2. I had bacon on the side and it was crispy and perfect, I gave my food 5 out of 5. My dad said the country Benedict was 4 out of 5 stars. My mom said the French toast and ham was 4.5 stars out of 5. We finally checked this diner out. We visited on a Sunday and thought the wait would be horrible, we only waited about 5 to 10 minutes. We were seated and very quickly greeted by our server. I ordered a Western omelette with grits and a biscuit. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich and a side of corned beef hash. The food arrived after maybe 10 minutes or so. Everything tasted good, but nothing extra special. My wife did comment that I make a much better breakfast sandwich at home.
