They never disappoint. Hamburger served without cheese and service were excellent! Mom had the onion soup with light cheese and crab cake - she loved both!

It's been so long since I last popped into this restaurant. This particular visit was a night cap after dinner elsewhere. First off, I didn't even know that the bar area has its own entrance...lol... I'm used to the main entrance where it's also the patio seating. We walked in off of Ventura Blvd which is where we saw the bar entrance. It was pretty busy Saturday night but we were able to utilize a section for four of us. A gentleman was gracious enough to move to a corner seat which gave us enough seating for the four of us. As we already had dinner prior, it was for cocktails. Staff and bartenders were all very sweet and friendly. After sitting down and starting off with some water, I noticed that a lot of the guest seemed to be regulars. It's like they all knew each other. Drink menu obviously was quite nice. The cocktails and wine menu were excellent. It's a full bar so whatever you like, I'm sure they could make it. There was also beer on tap. Between the four of us it was a mixture of everything. Wine, cocktails, beer and whiskey. Everything was great. The vibe was nice at the bar. As it was close to closing time, restaurants inside was starting to die down. Overall, the service was great. We walked in and was served right away. Staff and everyone there was sweet and friendly. As well as the guest. I've been for food prior which was excellent. This visit was for drinks and it was excellent as well.

Oysters Rockefeller: Great execution. Sauce Béarnaise, spinach with Pernod. Shō'un Junmai Daiginjo Sakè (sah keh)

Davenport seems like a new 21st century iteration of the classic, mid 20th century original Dal Rae in Pico Rivera. It has the traditional, theatrical, American version of swanky, "I have arrived", perky yet nominally understated confidence. There is limited street parking on Ventura where you may enter into the bar entrance, but the "grand entrance" is in back by entering the gated packing lot. Fear not, Davenport validates the entire fee if dining in. Call for parking info if take out. We were a party of 10 so had the center stage table in the large dining room with a floor to ceiling background wall with large floral and wine bottle display. 1) Oysters Rockefeller: Six plush, smooth, soft, creamy, baked humongous oysters with a soupçon of sea minerality. They're topped with anise-infused, perhaps Pernod, moist, suave spinach & Sauce Béarnaise which is also creamy, slightly acidic, subtle tarragon scented. Extremely sumptuous, satisfying dish. This may be their signature dish. Generous in portion to the point of being a full meal for a small eater, and could compete with the best in New Orleans. Great deal at $32. 2) Supposedly Davenport's signature dish. Lobster Bites seem like butter-poached, firm, yet touch fibrous, sweet lobster tail meat topped with parmesan-havarti crust baked in an aebleskiver pan which is cast iron with dimples to bake & hold Danish apple dumplings. The little dimples hold the flavourful melted cheese fat which I stopped up with the grilled rustic French bread. Another dish that would serve as another rich appetizer. $36 1-2a) Shō'un Junmai Daiginjo class Sakè (sah keh) by Hakutsuru: Smooth, sweet, aromatic hints of loquat, unripe pear, apple. Subtle Umami emphasizes the flavour of the food, and the pleasant acidity to clear the palate. I thought Sakè paired better than with the typical Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. Ailish was pleasant and efficient considering it was a full house on a prime time Saturday evening from 6:30 to 9pm. Come here for a bit of eclectic New American cuisine with global influences yet familiar enough for timid diners. 4 stars

Loved this spot! Incredible ambiance. Delicious food. The service was amazing and we never had to wait too long for assistance. Ordered the seafood pasta which was perfect along with the kale dip which was amaaazing. The dessert was also so yummy. 10/10 would go back.

An exquisite rack of lamb paired with a great ambiance and outstanding service made for a truly memorable dining experience. The proprietor's elegant manner added a warm, refined touch that elevated the entire evening. And complimentary parking to boot! I highly recommend Davenport's Fine Dining Steakhouse

AMAZING! we came for our anniversary dinner and the service was impressive. Everyone was so lovely and attentive. 10/10 for service. Parking was easy you park behind the restaurant and they validate. For starters we got a dozen oysters, garlic butter shrimp and a Caesar salad. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the garlic butter shrimp holy moly was AMAZING. Not overpowering just creamy goodness. I got the Hawaiian rib eye which was charred to perfection, sweet and juicy af! It was probably one of the best rib eyes I've ever enjoyed. It is sweet so if you don't like that maybe try the cowboy ribeye! My husband got the cowboy ribeye which is basically the same thing just bigger and not sweet. It was also charred to perfection and very tender and juicy. Overall I'm very happy with how our quick anniversary dinner turned out and we might have to make this a more frequent dinner spot!

Davenport's has such a cozy charm both inside and out, making it a really comfortable spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Parking is easy with validation available in the back, which makes things super convenient. The service was excellent--attentive and friendly, which added to the good vibe of the place. The food was delicious across the board, but the standout for me was definitely the miso Chilean sea bass--it was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Portions are generous, especially the salads, so I'd suggest sharing if you don't plan on making it your main dish. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary birthday dessert they brought out for my friend, which made the evening feel extra special. Overall, Davenport's is a warm, inviting spot with great service, tasty dishes, and little touches that make you want to come back.

It's set up as a cool campy lounge with modern art and jazz playing in the background. The service was prompt and the providers were wonderful. The menu was filled with a lot of delicious American themed choices. I had the tomahawk seared pork chop. Tender and juicy accompanied with perfectly cooked green beans and garlic peppercorn mashed potatoes. All together great choice. My girl had the chimicurri flank steak with tiny roasted potatoes and spinach. She enjoyed it greatly. Their featured wine choices were fantastic. My girl loved the Zin from Paseo as the Cab. However a lovely wine hostess brought out 2 additional wines to tasting. The special H.G. Cab was dynamite!. The ice cream sundae was a special treat. It was so sweet, creamy, with a chocolate wafer covered in hot fudge and whipped cream. It was totally delightful..

My second time here and was even better than the first period. The staff was all very friendly upon walking in. Was sat three minutes after being greeted, which was great. Was full capacity for dinner and saw all the staff promptly taking care of all patrons. The drinks were amazing and not overly sweet. Even though the entire restaurant was full, it still was mild volume enough to maintain a conversation. The decor is nice and the food is even better. Will be back again.

My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday for a quick drink before a movie, and the "vibe" was non-existent. They have four TVs at the bar, but the setup was bizarre, two were completely off and another was just frozen on a directory logo. The biggest issue, however, is the cleanliness--or lack thereof. The place is incredibly dirty. It feels like it hasn't had a deep clean in weeks, maybe longer. The bar top was disgusting, the floors were grimy, and even the woodwork looked like it hadn't seen a rag since opening day. They are charging $17 for "signature cocktails," which is bold for a spot that feels like a neglected dive bar. If you're going to charge premium prices, you have to at least wipe down the countertops. Service-wise, the bartender was friendly enough but low energy and minimal level of service. To make matters worse, a shift change happened while we were there, and the departing bartender made us close out our check and start a brand-new one with the next person. Why should the staff's administrative hand-off be the customer's issue? It's just unprofessional. The Valley has so many actual dive bars with character and plenty of high-end spots for a great cocktail; I'm not sure where this place is trying to fit in. It feels like someone bought it and just stopped caring. We won't be back.

I had to get use to sipping my margarita like a civilized person, rather than gulping it down. We started with the queso fundido. Too bad it cools so quickly and is so thick. It had a trio of salsas on top. And the chips are excellent. They brought us plenty of refills on chips. We ordered the salsa sampler. Three different salsas in tiny ramekins. All tasty, but usually Mexican restaurants give you salsa and chips for free. We had to spend $18. I had a chile rellano unlike any I have had before. A lot of black beans, a blistered chile and some cojita cheese sprinkled on top. I am used to a chile rellano filled with cheese. It was just okay. My husband had the carne aside. Basically a steak and roasted potatoes. Nice steak, but nothing Mexican about it. The potatoes were ordinary. Our guest ordered AGUACHILE DE CHAYOTE squash, pineapple aguachile, cilantro macho. She wanted a vegetarian option. This was a cold soup. She had no idea what she was getting. I guess we should have asked. All in all the menu is confusing. I have eaten Mexican food throughout LA and travelled extensively in Mexico, and this was all very new to me. They did tell us at the beginning that things were good to share. This would have been a good sharing dish with the chips. It was very unusual. The dessert flan was very tasty with pecans and a crispy churro like garish. We would have like a little more explanation on the menu of what we were ordering. Every item is unexpected and out of the ordinary. Daisy is a good place to go for a taste adventure, good margaritas and a hefty bill.

Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm).
