Today I went to back out of a parking space, and a piece of rebar from the parking stopper caught onto my front bumper, and before I knew it, pulled off the whole front plastic piece... leaving little plastic screws all over the ground and my bumper along with it! It was just before 5 PM so I rushed over to Dave's shop, in a slight panic. Gerald, (absolute gem of a human), assessed the situation and in less than 20 minutes, had my bumper back in place with new plastic screws and only a minor fee. I highly suggest to stay away from this shop. I took my car to get a battery and alternator. My car came out of the shop with a check engine light and maintenance required light. Also my car did not get fixed I needed a new alternator and battery. They told me that they charged the alternator. You can't charge an alternator. They out a very cheap battery in my vehicle charged me double the price of the battery. The next day after I got my car out of the shop the check engine light and maintenance required light came on. I called Dave he said that's normal after you change the alternator, it's not. I had it turned off three times at three different places. The check engine and maintenance required lights came back on. I did 4 different code readings 4 different places code 420 Cadillac converter. My car wouldn't pass smog. Dave personally destroyed my Mitsubishi Monterro 2002 for $708.20. He's reluctant to make things right with reimbursement of faulty labor that led to multiple oil leaks and the ultimate destruction of my car. They took my car in for the smog check Right when they said they would, did the job and had me out of there in a reasonable amount of time. Had my air conditioning fixed here a few months ago and had no issues. They even were nice enough to drive me home since I lived a few blocks away. Called today for an oil change and the guy who answered the phone was exceptionally rude - reading reviews looks like I'm not the only one who has encountered the extremely ignorant man on the phone. He answers "What do you want". And then hangs up on me since I was a bit taken back by his abrupt attitude. Then I call back saying "Hey I think you hung up on me ..." and he again hangs up on me ! When the breaks of our Honda CR-V began squealing we began calling around for service. Leaving a message at various repair shops, the first one to respond was Dave's Auto Repair; with a couple not returning my call for several working days. The appointment was made for the next working day. We dropped our car off late Sunday evening and picked it up late Monday evening, fixed and ready to drive safety. The guy Dave was really unfriendly. My car battery died and I got a tow truck to jump start my car. For some reason it wouldn't jump start, so I had it towed to Dave's auto repair to fix it. He was really short and dismissive over the phone. When I went to pick up my car, I asked him what was wrong with it. He told me he already told me over the phone. But what he told me obviously didn't make sense because it didn't explain why the tow truck couldn't jump start my car. He started explaining to me how a battery works like I was a two year old. I was like, "oh, okay, but if those were the things that were wrong with the car, then why couldn't the tow truck jump start my car?" "I don't know why he couldn't jump start your car," he replied. Okay cool so in reality there was nothing really wrong with my car other than the tow truck guy who tried to jumpstart it didn't do it right. So I paid $75 for Dave to charge my battery, get mad at me, and tell me there were things wrong with my car that had nothing to do with why I brought the car in. I wish he would have just told me from the beginning, "we couldn't find anything that explains why your car wouldn't jumpstart" but he had to tell me all these things that had nothing to do with jumpstarting my car and then get defensive when I asked what that has to do with jumpstarting my car. I don't blame him for charging me money for finding out that I basically brought the car in for no reason, but his attitude was so bad that I had to give him one star. You can't get mad at your customers for asking basic questions about what was wrong with their car. It's important to know in order to prevent the problem from happening again in the future. My car was towed to Dave's from up the hill. I was charged $90 for a diagnostic and then was told that it would take another $90 to find out what the problem is. Dave's never found the problem - had to pay for another tow to go the last 40 miles home. It was very big of them to only charge me $90 - hey wait they never told me what was wrong. What the heck - it seems to me that if you pay for a diagnostic that you should get a diagnosis. The car was taken to a Ford dealership who found the problem in a half hour. It was a blown fuse. Gees - I am not sure that Dave's can fix cars but they do a lot of fruitless diagnosing. Well fruitless for me anyway - they got $90 of my hard earned money for nothing. read more

I called ahead to make sure they could fit in an oil change for my Subaru today. I showed up 30 minutes after I called like we agreed, and they told me they were too busy and to come back in a few days. When I mentioned that I called ahead on the phone and confirmed they could change my oil today, Dave simply shrugged his shoulders, didn't apologize, and stated "I can't help you today". Dave, Fred and Gerald were professional, curtious, efficient and friendly. I was 10 minutes late getting to them after leaving work for my smog inspection appointment and it was not a problem. The smog was done in less time than was estimated and they thanked me for my business. Dave even used my name when thanking me. I'm not happy with the customer service or the service of the shop at all I would never recommend them to any of my friends or family. I'd previously in April took my car to go get smogged at the shop and save owner told me that if it didn't pass smog I didn't have to pay , well my car didn't pass smog and he still charged me $65 and was rude to me because I was a female their prices are outrageous and they are really rude I would never recommend them to anybody read more

Steer clear of this place! Tried to get my vehicle smog checked here and was told they couldn't do it due to some issue with my address. Turns out they can't enter information into their computer too well. Called back and told them I thought they had entered the incorrect info. I came in here for a Smog Test and I let them know about the make and model of my van. When I showed up, the Rude mechanic Fred, told me he would "need" to charge me an extra 1/2 hr or like $50 to do the test. Wasted my trip, how lame. He did not stand behind his agreement with me over the phone, where he quoted me a price. read more

The folks at Dave's are fantastic. They fit me into their schedule so I could get to work on time. When I came in, I had a small utility trailer hitched to my truck. I unhitched it and took a walk while they performed a smog test. When I arrived back, they had hitched my trailer back up for me. That was really unexpected and helpful.
