My husband installed a new Nest thermostat yesterday. Everything turned on like it was supposed to but no cold air. The unit outside was working fine but the upstairs portion ( blower/ furnace not sure of the official name) was turning on but no air was coming out. Dave promptly returned my call within 30 minutes or less this morning. His day was full but he said he'd see if he could get me in today if not tomorrow morning. Well I got lucky and he called me and said he could be here shortly. Turns out it was a wiring issue. Both with the thermostat and upstairs furnace. Turns out I didn't need the new Nest after all. Once both things were rewired the old Nest worked again. He did a check of the outside unit. Everything was a go. Wrapped everything up in time to beat this brutal heatwave that peaks tomorrow. These guys are awesome. Our home's heat went out during the rains and temperature dropped to 40 degrees. Dave saved me from the HEAT WAVE! How many of you put up with 'just making due with what you've got'? I was having some icing problems with my AC. I let it go for 6 weeks of this very hot summer, using ceiling fans and some small portable ones to try and keep from melting, before I finally saw sense and gave Dave a call. He was prompt, kind, and effective. Turns out, he'd never seen a coil so badly clogged with mostly pet hair. You see, although I intended to change my filters every two months, and had a case of filters in the garage, I never scheduled it, consequently it was a year that had gone by without a single filter change. I learned a lesson about worthiness that day, realizing that I was putting up with a broken down AC and feeling like it was okay, I could get by.
