Got a bunch of tenders delivered. It is a bit pricey per tenders but it's very good. Crispy and well seasoned and the sauce is very good as well - but it is not only the sauce thats doing the work here. Have not been in the store so dont know the service or ambience but the food(chicken tenders at least) is very good. read more

I am always open to trying different restaurants so I decided to give Dave's Hot Chicken a try. I ordered the #4 combo, it consists of one slider with fries. The slider was not good. The chicken itself was extremely bland, like there was no seasoning on the chicken at all. The fries were very good. The Dave's sauce was really good as well. Brought my nephews here after taking them to get haircuts. This place was close and still open. They love chicken tenders so...first time trying a new tender spot. We were welcomed and greeted with a smile. The cashier was patient as my 3 tried to figure out what they wanted. Trying to decide what level of spice they wanted.. Clean, fast and friendly. What more could you ask for?!!! Oh and the fries and pickles were delicious! Chef kiss! That was about all I could eat. We were excited to try their chicken and ordered the Slider with Fries and Small Top Loaded Fries. The portions were generous, but honestly a bit overwhelming. I would have preferred the chicken from my loaded fries on the sliders instead. The slider chicken was too big, not crunchy, and heavenly seasoned that I couldn't taste the chicken itself. Ive been wanting to try this place for a while, and I am so glad I did! My husband and I split the two slider combo w medium spice level. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The chicken was coated w like dry rub spices vs the actual spicy sauce, which was a pleasant surprise and great taste, and great spice. Fries were also crispy and good. Dave's LIVES up to the hype. As soon as I moved to the DMV area and saw I was near a Dave's I had to go. The chicken is cooked to perfection and seasoning is amazing every time. Very happy this hot chicken chain is now in the Kingstown area. Big pieces of chicken with a little crunch and a lot of flavors. I like the amount of heat options they offer. The sauce is more of a dusting than liquid. Pick up was a little tight and disorganized. Went today for their grand opening! I was super surprised because I wasn't even aware that it was today, I just saw it open as I drove by. I'm super happy to have a dave's hot chicken closer to my area now. There was also a person greeting everyone at the front with goodies like pins and stickers! I got the #2 - came with 2 sliders and fries. I also ordered a milkshake with oreo topping (it's literally only on top and costs an additional $2). The food came out fairly quickly with there being a large line of people. The young boy calling out the orders was very friendly and accommodating too! Fries were amazing, super crunchy! The sliders weren't as good as last time I had them in the tyson's area but still decent! Shake was SO rich and creamy! So this was totally a PMS, post gym impulsive stop... but so glad I did. Jackie, the young woman who took my order was so pleasant and helped me navigate the menu as a first timer. I was pleasantly surprised to see kale salad as a side, I was able to swap out the fries which allows for my fast food fix without all the carbs. Service was great! The gentleman at the front was really great and helpful. Came in after the lunch rush, so the restaurant was mellow at the time, looks like a friendly family place, nice outside seating. Chicken was good, didn't really know that it was dusted with seasoning that stuck to your fingers, wasn't really a fan of the outside of the Chicken but the inside was moist and tender, I think next time I will get the plain/naked tenders, I will ask next time if all their Chicken is dusted with the seasoning really not a fan of that. read more

All things chicken didn't disappoint! Heard about this location opening up and was excited to check it out. I tried the #2 which was 2 sliders and switched it with cheesy fries. Everything was well put together for the order including the side of sauce. The interior has a modern take with eclectic artwork on the wall. Everything looked clean and well organized and there was plenty of parking outside. Service was great from the front desk to when it was ready and announced for pick up. Only recommendation would be to have better layout for ordering area and the dining area as it looked a bit busy as people were waiting for their orders in front of the cashier area. Our company always buys us lunch to show appreciation and we get to choose a place we would like to try. This one was new to us and let's just say better than chic fila chicken. You get to choose your heat preference and the sliders are a great size! The chicken was so good and not dry at all. Pretty tender but not fatty. This has to be the best chicken sandwich I have ever tried. It did not leave you in a food coma or bloated right after. It was the perfect platter to keep me full all day. The restaurant is open and airy. The service is a little on the slow side and I thought that I Only ordered a chicken sandwich. The food was hot and the pickles were hardy but compared to Hangry Joes Hot Chicken in Waldorf, Md there is no comparison. The sandwiches are small, the chicken breast looked like a chicken tender in size and the portions of shoestring fries are small for the cost of $15. So I stopped there a few weeks ago to see what the fuss was about in terms of their sliders and they were nothing to write home about. The owner and staff were nice but the slider sucked. Just had a slider sandwich (medium spicy) and fries, and it was excellent! No notes! Tender, juicy chicken. Medium spicy is quite mild, so I'd suggest starting at Medium and going up from there. Split the two slider combo with a side of slaw with a friend. It was just enough for a quick lunch. Glad we ordered the extra slaw to cool down our Hot level sliders. Hot equals hot here. I don't think either of us could go up a level and I don't think we'd go down a level either, so Hot is just right for us. Fries were banging. The service at Dave's is top notch. The staff, the general many, and especially the manager Mohammed. Mohammed went above and beyond to make sure our order was taken correctly. Dave's Hot Chicken was created by best friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan. Dave, a chef trained in Thomas Keller's (French Laundry) organization set out to create the perfect Hot Chicken by searching, tasting, and frying. The four friends scrounged up $900 to put a tiny stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. The menu was simple, and chicken was the star. And what chicken it is! Sourced and prepared to be the juiciest and most tender imaginable with each piece topped with Dave's own mix of spices ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper". Arman created Instagram buzz and the lines began to grow. Two nights later, Eater/LA showed up to see what the fuss was about. The next morning's headline read "East Hollywood's Late Night Chicken Stand Might Blow Your Mind". Almost instantly, the lines stretched around the block. A year later, the boys had the money to open a shop in a hip strip-mall with de_cor by local street artists, where the crowds continued to grow with wait-times of an hour and more. From there, the incredibly craveable "Hot and Spicy" varieties have created a cult following with rave reviews across the U.S. and Canada.

History

Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

The food was just out of this world. You can tell that it's made with love. Meats were tender, packed with Ethiopian flavors, and served with the finest injera. The restaurant itself is very low key. The dining room is decorated with beautiful pieces of Ethiopian art work. Our server was so kind and made us feel right at home. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food served. It is BYOB so be sure to bring your favorite beverage. For two of us we ordered the Kitfo, Tibs, cubed fish (tilapia) and five different veggies. It was plenty of food. My one and only critique would be with the cubed fish. It was a bit on the sweet side, and not as packed with the flavor as the other dishes. However, some may like sauces on the sweeter side. Can't wait to go back for another visit!!!

Chicken sandwich, tenders a burrito, fries and a pudding. I got the 3 tenders and slice of bread. Spice level mild. Great portions. My chicken was hot, fresh and succulent. Well seasoned and flavorful. $13 or so. No fries. Service was fast and the restaurant is clean. I love Nashville hot chicken. And this place didn't disappoint. I saw they have other locations. The flavor is more than just spice though. The chicken is really well cooked and battered. The outside was crispy even with sauce all over. Also the fried okra was a sleeper agent, it was so addicting we all kept reaching for it. I'm personally not the biggest fan of waffle fries but these were cooked great.
