We'd eaten at another Dave's in Pompano, so when we were in the area, we decided to stop and check this location out. We knew from our previous visit that their spice -- even the mild -- is a bit too "hot" for me. So, we ordered "no spice". We got their number one with 2 tenders and fries. And we ordered an additional tender. The combo included the chicken -- large, white meat pieces of chicken -- plus a slew of pickle slices, white bread slices, and crinkle cut fries. There was also a small container of Dave's special sauce. Even the single extra tender came with bread and pickles, as well. The food was decent. We've decided we didn't really care for their fries. And would leave them off or order something else instead. Service here was okay. Not as good as our first experience with the chain. But keeping that in mind, the chicken tenders are worth coming alone. We are glad we came to check them out.

We have tried two other locations before and found them to be consistently good. This location is at the southern end of a small strip center just off SR 7. Adequate parking in the lot shared by three other restaurants. We ordered the chicken tenders combo (not spicy) and and an extra single tender. The tenders are large strips of breast meat. Our combo came with fries and a fountain soda. (Next time we will order Dave's Mac n cheese instead of the coated fries). Although our chicken tenders were good and plentiful, they were served warm and not hot out of the fryer like our previous meals. Service is friendly and helpful.

Came to Dave's Hot Chicken for the first time ever at 12pm on a Sunday. After seeing all the social media hype, I was incredibly excited. There were only 2 people ahead of us in line, but just to order took about 15 minutes. To get the food, only took about 10 or so. I must say, I love the incredibly simple and minimalistic menu. I also love the fact that you can substitute absolutely any of the combos with cauliflower. This is an excellent option for vegetarians and vegans to still be able to come here and enjoy a meal. With that being said, we got the Dave's #3 (slide and a tender), medium spice, and comes with fries, but drink needs to be purchased separately. We also got the Dave's #2 sub cauliflower (2 sliders) medium spice, which also comes with fries, but no drink. We also got a side of mac and cheese, along with 2 large fountain drinks. First and foremost, the medium spice level was absolutely perfect. I might even go for the hot next time. The seasoning is unlike anything I've had before. I don't eat fried chicken often, could probably count on one hand how many times I've had a chicken sandwich in my lifetime. This meal might make fried chicken sandwiches part of my regular rotation now. The chicken was fresh, juicy, crispy, perfectly seasoned, perfectly hot. The fries are crinkle cut and also seasoned and crispy. The kale slaw is a refreshing addition to the spice. The sliders also come on a really nice and soft potato roll. The Dave's sauce is a little tangy, a little sweet and balances out the chicken perfectly. The cauliflower was crazy crispy on the outside, but very tender and soft on the inside. This is a nice and unique break from the typical vegetarian foods like pizza and pasta. The mac and cheese was creamy, definitely cheesy and had its own little mixture of seasoning that set it apart from other mac and cheeses I've had. Would probably be really good on a slider! Overall, this meal was $44, not including a tip. Is it cheap? No. But is it filling? Yes. It has been about 6 hours since I ate and I'm still nice and full. The quality is worth the price. I will absolutely be back to try their loaded fries and additional spice levels!

2 slider and fries served HOT! WOW! Way hot! Go with the mild. Excellent! 5 star. Held up on Uber eats to LHP.

Great sliders. I Heard a new location was opening soon in Pompano Beach and thought to put an Uber eats order in to give Daves a try at this location which was the closest to me. 8+ miles away. The transport was a success and the meal held up excellent with no issues. Most importantly, Excellent sliders! Moist, delicious, seasoned well, perfectly prepared. A Masterpiece! Look at that picture! The Good stuff! I ordered the Hot but I think the Hot is way too hot for me. Overall excellent with the hot but I will get Mild next order. A great 1st order. Dave's a winner!

This is my second Daves hot chicken experience, first time at this location and unfortunately I have to say it wasn't as good as the first visit. If you aren't familiar with Daves, they have a very limited menu, no drive thru but a ton of flavor with different heat levels for all the chicken! I decided on medium today and I thought it was good. I think I liked mild a little better but I wouldn't say medium was bad. Someone ordered hot at the table and it was scorching. Like to the point I wouldn't be able to eat it if I ordered that so I am very glad I didn't. The fries are seasoned well, the pickles complement the spice of the chicken well. The chicken on this slider was also flavorful as well as the slaw on the sandwich. Here's a wild part of my dine in experience at this new location. The corners of the wall are sharp! As I was sitting down at a table in the back near the wall, the corner of the metal lower panels ripped my shirt and pants. I was shocked that something so sharp was at walking level and so close to tables to cause this. It kinda ruined my experience as it happened immediately after I ordered and then sat down. I recommend being careful near the tables near the walls inside so that doesn't happen to you. Definitely will visit Dave's again, I just don't think I will visit this location again though.

Decided to try something different for lunch so I got Dave's. I was very hyped to try it because of my coworker hyping this place up. I went around 2pm, there was a bit of a wait to order and get my food. I was expecting the chicken to be "hot" in spices, I ordered medium just in case it was spicy and that was a fail, it had good flavor but no heat, next time I'll try the hot and see if it makes a difference. My Caribbean tastebuds weren't too happy with the lack of spice. Other than that, the food was pretty good, flavorful. I suggest ordering online to make things faster.

Tiny tiny portion for $12, forgot my sauce on the side I paid for and overall quality was terrible....the chicken pieces were so small they couldn't be anything but rock hard Brett.....I did reach out to that email last night...no response & as I said, I wouldn't waste my money on this quantity or quality again, not in the financial times we are all going through but thanks for the college try to keep business...you can't possibly "wow" us without saying how as there was no "wow" this time, when a restaurant does the same but expects a different result is not a logical business strategy...

Dave's Hot Chicken is part of a slew of new Nashville Hot Chicken restaurants sweeping the area. Hot chicken is a type of fried chicken that is a specialty of Nashville, Tennessee. Hot sauce and cayenne added to the coating makes the chicken spicy and delicious. The latest entry into the South Florid market is Dave's Hot Chicken, started by childhood friends Dave, Arman, Tommy, and Gary who took $900 to buy a folding table and portable fryer and set up business in an East Hollywood parking lot. Restaurant namesake Dave Kopushyan is a professionally trained chef who worked under restaurateur Thomas Keller at the three-Michelin-star restaurant, The French Laundry. Word of Dave's delicious hot chicken spread and lines grew. In 2017, the first restaurant was founded. Drake became major investor in the company in 2021 along with Samuel L. Jackson. By 2022 Dave's Hot Chicken had grown to over 100 locations and they now have restaurants overseas. This was the opening weekend for Dave's Hot Chicken, Boca Raton. There was a bit of a line but it moved quickly. Inside, the restaurant is decorated with brightly painted murals on the walls. In addition to a few tables inside there is more seating outside under the large covered patio. The simplified menu consists of 4 choices of hot chicken tenders, sliders or both. Spice levels range from no spice to reaper. Sides include fries, cheese fries, macaroni and cheese and a kale slaw. All of the chicken is halal. Those with a sweet tooth can order top loaded shakes like the current Lucky Charms. I ordered the #4 which included 1 slider with fries for $10.25. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time considering how slammed they were. The chicken was juicy and the perfect spice level for me, mild. I really enjoyed the seasoning they put on the fries and the chipotle mayo Dave's sauce is the perfect dipper. The food is great and the staff stayed cheerful despite being extremely busy. This is a great addition to West Boca and the Hot Chicken market.

Great location in Boca Raton for Dave's Hot Chicken. If you like chicken places and hot Nashville style chicken, this is the place to go. The inside vibes have fun and colorful artwork on the walls and the outside has a large amount of covered seating. Besides the cute chicken mascot and logo, you have an opportunity to choose your heat for the chicken when you order. That's what's unique about Dave's Hot Chicken restaurants. They offer 7 ways to order your chicken, no spice, lite miid, mild, medium, hot, extra hot and REAPER. Make sure that you have a drink because I thought medium was hot and hot was blow your mouth out. It was very good with the cayenne pepper spice. I don't think that I will try the extra hot nor the reaper but most of you I am sure will. The menu offers sliders and tenders and even combos with both and a side included. The fries were delicious with the seasoning. The Dave's sauce is like a chipotle mayo that you can eat on the chicken or even dip your fries. I also ordered the slaw that had kale and red cabbage mixed in together. The service was quick and accurate plus a cashless business. Must try!!!!

    Dave's #2 2 Sliders w/ Fries

Second trip here and just as good! We keep forgetting how big the chicken really is! I prefer the sliders while my husband loves the tenders. The fries were also nicely done and very tasty. And the special sauce is very good too! One tip, ours is cashless only.

I have been a Dave's fan ever since I tried them in LA in 2021. Since then I had been waiting for them to open in SF and the day has finally come.. did it live up the hype? Well that's the tricky part.. we dined in on a busy Sunday evening with a party of eight adults and two kids. Placed the order for dine in and waited 25 mins .. we were all given our order together in a to-go box not sure why when we said we are going to dine in here.. then the sandwiches and tender were not hot enough and probably because they were just sitting there when they could have been just given out when they were ready.. the sandwiches that were made last were fine but the one that were waiting definitely got cold and so were the fries.. there is no doubt the food quality was great and way better than what I had tried in Orlando.. it's a new place and I hope they take notes from such reviews and feedback that if you have a big party don't let their food sit inside getting cold just pass it out as it's ready .. the place is nice and clean and well maintained.. only taking one star away for a bit slow service and cold food

Laspada had a lit up sign in the window saying they're "open." I seem to recall Next Door Boca giving them decent reviews. I am a native of Philly, hometown of the hoagie. I thought I'd give this place a try. I ran from my car through the rain and tugged on the door....locked. The door hours say open at 11! So much for the lit "open" sign. They have outdoor metal tables and chairs under an awning. I sat at an outdoor table for ten minutes. I looked through the storefront window at a couple employees prepping and I read the wall menu. A guy unlocked the place at 11. I let a young family and several other guys go ahead of me. Guy at the slicing wheel waited on me. I ordered a small Mama Lastrada turkey & salami on wheat. There's about a half dozen employees behind the counter dealing with the assembly line of customers and sandwiches. Guy at the slicing wheel tells me one of the other guys will work on my sandwich. Okay. However, I can't move down the line because there's customers still lined up ahead of me waiting for their food. Slicing wheel guy looks up at me a minute later and asks what he can get for me. I look back at him waiting for him to recognize me from a minute ago when he already had sliced my order. No recognition! I repeated my order to him. Now he remembers me! He again refers me to one of his junior sandwich prep guys. I overheard him telling a busy junior guy, "This is just a small Mama on wheat" or something like that. Still, I can't go down the line because there's guy ahead of me had placed an order for 3 sandwiches. I swear to you that the slicing wheel guy asks me for a THIRD time for my order! By this time, I felt like I was in a Monty Python sketch. I repeated my order. Again, he refers me to a third junior associate (Manny, Moe, and Jack)? Finally, a young associate asked me for toppings. I had noticed two lettuce bins. One bin looked fine. The other looked a little brown. I decided to skip the lettuce rather than ask him to pick from the left hand bin and embarrass them. I also saw a black speck in the onion bin. It probably was nothing but I decided to skip onions just to be safe. I chose tomatoes, Swiss cheese, pickles and sweet peppers. The debit card reader asks if I want to tip. I skipped that. Price was reasonable. Hoagie was okay. The roll was soggy. Philly hoagie shops pride themselves on their rolls. I understand this is Florida, not Philly. I can appreciate this place is popular and busy. However, being asked for my order 3 times by the same experienced worker there left me feeling less than special as a customer.

The pizza was phenomenal: perfectly crisp edges, a fluffy interior, and loaded with flavor in every bite. We went with a group of eight, and while the experience was still great, it's probably not ideal for larger parties--we ended up having to sit outside, which worked fine, but it's something to keep in mind if you're planning a bigger gathering. The standout was the pizza special with burrata (seriously, delicious). Everything we tried was excellent, and the quality easily justifies the hype. Unfortunately, after driving 40 minutes to get there, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived around 6:20 PM on Saturday, May 30th. The restaurant appeared to have roughly six open tables in a dining room of about fifteen tables. A party ahead of us was seated immediately (perhaps they had a reservation), but when we approached the host stand, we were told the wait would be 40 minutes. There was no visible crowd waiting, but okay, fair enough. The host mentioned we could be seated outside immediately. With storm clouds rolling in and the Florida humidity doing its thing, we politely declined and asked to be added to the waitlist. While we were putting our name down, the party that had just been seated inside got up and moved outside. Naturally, I asked if that changed anything. The answer was still "40 minutes." I'm not a mathematician, but that one was hard to follow. We stepped outside to find somewhere nearby to wait. There wasn't really anything in the plaza, and I noticed I never received a confirmation text. Since most restaurants using waitlists send some type of confirmation these days, I had a bad feeling and decided to go back in to verify my information. A different hostess was at the stand. I explained that I wanted to confirm my phone number because I hadn't received a text. She looked at the tablet and said, "I got you." Okay... but I wasn't asking if you had me. I was asking if you had my number. Again, I asked to confirm it. Again, I was told, "You're good." So my wife and I went back to our car and waited. Forty minutes came and went. Nothing. At around 7:15 PM, my wife noticed they were on OpenTable and made a reservation for 7:30 PM just in case. By 7:20 PM, I decided to walk back inside and check on our status. This is where things went completely off the rails. Both hosts looked up our name and, with surprising enthusiasm, informed us that they had canceled our place on the waitlist. Why? Because they had supposedly texted and called us with no response. I asked what number they contacted. Turns out the number was wrong by one digit. The same phone number I had specifically come back inside to verify. The same phone number that nobody actually verified. When I reminded the hostess that I had literally come back to confirm my number and was told, "I got you," she seemed completely unfazed. The other host then insisted that he had read the number back to me and that I had confirmed it. After telling my wife what he claimed, she told me that not only had he read the number back correctly, but she had repeated it correctly to him as well. So the information was clearly correct at that point, which makes it seem like the number was changed before the reservation was saved. At that point I asked to speak with a manager. To his credit, he came over quickly. Unfortunately, instead of immediately focusing on solving the problem, the initial response felt more focused on defending what had happened. What frustrated me most wasn't the mistake itself. Mistakes happen. It was the lack of ownership and the lack of a solution. After waiting nearly an hour because of an error made by the restaurant, I had to repeatedly ask what the plan was. Even then, the answer was essentially, "Maybe another 20 minutes. I'm not really sure." That's where the experience completely fell apart for me. A simple: "I'm sorry. Let me get you seated outside with a drink while we get an indoor table ready." Or: "We made a mistake. You're next for the first available table." Or even: "I understand why you're upset. Let me see what I can do to make this right." Any of those responses would have gone a long way. Instead, I was left feeling like I was inconveniencing everyone by expecting a solution to a problem they created. As we were leaving, the manager followed us outside and said he wanted to help if we were willing to work with him. The problem was that even then, there still wasn't an actual solution being offered. At that point, after nearly an hour of waiting, multiple missed opportunities to verify information, a canceled spot on the waitlist, and no clear path forward, we decided to leave. I drove 40 minutes to try this restaurant and never even got the chance to order a drink. That's impressive in its own way.

The prices initially caught my attention -- many of the sandwiches run around $20+ -- but the portions and quality start to make sense once you see what comes out of the kitchen. The owner, who hails from Brooklyn, noticed my order and told me I should try something different. He ended up making me an off-menu sandwich called the "Dapper Don." It starts with a toasted baguette brushed with garlic oil, then piled high with house-roasted beef, arugula, caramelized onions, crispy fried onions, herb aioli, and a generous amount of shaved Parmigiano. The flavors are big and well balanced -- peppery greens, rich aioli, sweet onions, and salty cheese tying everything together. The sandwich itself is massive. Easily large enough to split between two people. The shop is bright and modern and feels closer to an Italian paninoteca with Brooklyn-sized portions than a typical South Florida deli. One thing to note: this plaza has historically been a tough location for restaurants due to high rents. But if Generoso can build a loyal following around sandwiches like this, it definitely has a chance.

Finally, the cashier asked me if I got my drink and I said no, and she said, "sir it only comes in one size," however, she did not neglect to charge me for a double. As they say, experience is the best example. My opinion, is at this store will not last once people realize they are being overcharged. This will be my last time in this family owned Italian sandwich shop that charges for every little thing.

FIVE STARS. GAS STATION? YES. GAS STATION? ALSO YES…read more Let's get something straight. Some of the best food on earth comes from places that look like you shouldn't trust them. Gas stations. Side streets. Tiny counters with three tables and a refrigerator humming in the corner. I saw WhatSub on Yelp and thought, "Alright. Let's see if the hype survives State Road 7." It didn't just survive. It flexed. I am fully on board with five-star gas station cuisine. In fact, I seek it out. And WhatSub doesn't just play the game -- it competes internationally. This place comes dangerously close to Sandwich Master in Turin, Italy. I'm not exaggerating. And it narrowly beats out Generoso's in Coral Springs, which is not an easy feat. The bread? Legit. The meats? Layered like someone actually respects the architecture of a sandwich. The balance? No soggy mess. No overkill. No amateur hour. And then the cannoli. Freshly piped. Not pre-filled. Not sitting there getting sad and humid. Fresh. Filled to order. Shell still crisp. Ricotta smooth and balanced -- not overly sweet, not grainy, not lazy. Best cannoli I've had in South Florida since Lorenzo's in North Miami Beach. That's not a casual comparison. That's a statement. Now let's talk atmosphere. It's technically in a gas station plaza -- and yet the owners and staff are actually speaking Italian behind the counter. Not performative. Not touristy. Just normal conversation like you accidentally stepped into a deli in Torino. It feels real. So real that I went back the next day. And then again. I am not joking. When I ask myself, "What was my favorite thing?" the answer is dangerous: Everything I ordered. Cold subs. Hot subs. Cannoli. Repeat. This is the kind of place you almost don't want to write about because once the word spreads, lines get longer and secrets disappear. But credit where credit is due. WhatSub is proof that greatness doesn't need chandeliers. Sometimes it just needs good bread, proper technique, and someone who actually cares.

Came here because I saw it was a new Italian sub shop near my area. Saw good reviews and wanted to…read moretry it myself. Behind the counter was a husband/wife duo who were the business owners (didn't get their names) who stated they were from Sicily. After much deliberation, I decided to order the Arthur Ave and the Milano. The Arthur Ave is a cold sandwich that had prosciutto, arugula, stracciatella, sun dried tomato. You have a choice of bread from white, wheat rolls, and focaccia. I was informed by the husband the focaccia is made fresh daily by his wife so of course I had to try that. The wife was nice enough to let me try a sample of the prosciutto and I have to say -- it was delicious, so getting it on a sandwich was going to be a no-brainer. The Milano was for my father. Watching them make the sandwich, they put two huge pieces of chicken cutlet, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and freshly sliced mozzarella. Again, I got the focaccia bread. Both sandwich's were drizzled on the top of the focaccia bread with fresh Italian olive oil which was just the cherry on top. I had told the owners it was my first time and we had a great conversation, that they were nice enough to give me and my parents 3 free mini cannolis -- which was completely unexpected and highly appreciated! As far as the food goes, I don't have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to describe how delicious this sandwich was. From the delicious meats, the fresh veggies, and my personal favorite part -- that focaccia bread. I would buy that alone. They had specials on their menu the day I went that was a not on their menu -- a meatball sub and arancini balls. Also, keep in mind, that this shop is inside the Mobil gas station on 441 and SW 18th. There is a sign on the outside of the gas station, but if you're driving by and unsure of the location, I can confirm it is inside the Mobil. Overall, a great experience; delicious food, great people behind the counter. Only caveat I would say is it is a little bit higher price for a sandwich, but with the current economy where a McDonalds burger is over 10 bucks, you truly get what you pay for and that is top quality, fresh and delicious food. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

It was very tender, came with a fresh, minced tomato salad, and served split, whole. Pita was good, hot, fresh, soft and fluffy inside with a light exterior crisp. Chicken schwarma dinner with rice is tender and flavorful. Short rib hummus was OK. The hummus is nice and velvety, but the short ribs could've used more seasoning and was dry and hard around the edges. The chicken made a better pairing. Service was slow and lacking. We were seated quickly, but it took a while for a waiter to come. After being seated just past 7pm, our appetizer arrived 20+ minutes after ordering, and entrees didn't come until 8pm. Nearby empty tables went unwiped for most of our stay, and it was off-putting to watch staff only partially clean them while handling the tops of salt and pepper shakers with unclean hands. I was not surprised to see health violations listed here afterwards. The experience worsened with dessert. Our Basque cheesecake came with a thick layer of chocolate instead of the berry coulis listed on the menu. When I mentioned the discrepancy so he could inform future guests, the waiter repeatedly suggested I speak to the manager, despite me saying it wasn't necessary. His tone wasn't kind, and it felt dismissive--especially since he had served the dish and could clearly see the difference. We will not be returning nor recommending.
