The Reaper was just above my limit, as I figured would be the case when they made me sign a waiver. I'd say it's maybe a step or two (at the most) below the heat of the One Chip Challenge thing. It's that hot. I've never had spice from a restaurant cause that kind of pain. I only made it through half the tender. So, if you love very spicy food, start with the Extra Hot and go from there. Ever since Dave's original owners sold their company to the massive fast food chain that is responsible for the downfall of other fast food chains like Subway, my experience at what was once my favorite and go-to restaurant is not what it was anymore. The quality of the food dropped like crazy, to the point where I thought I was just eating it too often and started to feel disgusted. I took a 6 month break from Dave's and went back today, and to my disappointment everything was just as I remembered. Sloppy, unappetizing, and expensive for no reason. I ordered to-go and my fries weren't even in the fry tray anymore and the sliders looked like it was thrown together in 2 seconds. This is not a complaint the Burbank location, but an issue with their gift cards. Twice now, once with a physical card for $25 and another an online gift card for $100 we received from friends (because we love Daves!) The cashiers at Daves at multiple locations have not been able to get their system at the register to acknowledge and take money from our gift cards. I've had to just pay with cash because, after literally 10x tries each time, the system says "processing" after I swipe or scan my codes (both verified online to have the full, correct balance) but their systems won't complete the transaction with a gift card. I lost track of how many times, (each instance) the cashier pushes some buttons then says try again, just to not complete the transaction as the line being me piles up and people are getting mad at me for holding up the line. This location is super clean and opened only 2 days ago (May 5th). It has a great amount of parking and seating (both inside and out). Service was good, especially with it being opening weekend and them still getting everything set up.
