The manager kept coming and going out the front door and two employees did the same. At one point he was adjusting his pants and playing with his hair before touching food. Great chicken and great fries. I am a huge fan of very spicy food, so I ordered one tender of Extra Hot and one Reaper. The extra hot was perfect for me, good amount of spice and great taste. The Reaper was just above my limit, as I figured would be the case when they made me sign a waiver. I'd say it's maybe a step or two (at the most) below the heat of the One Chip Challenge thing. It's that hot. I've never had spice from a restaurant cause that kind of pain. I only made it through half the tender. So, if you love very spicy food, start with the Extra Hot and go from there. I took a 6 month break from Dave's and went back today, and to my disappointment everything was just as I remembered. Sloppy, unappetizing, and expensive for no reason. The food is ok, it used to be better. But the service sucks. I bought 3 meals asked for a couple of extra honey since they always cheap out on giving out honey, the employees response was we have a honey shortage so you get what you get. I said ok thinking they would at least put two packages of honey for each sandwich I ordered 4 sandwiches and tenders. I get home and open the bag not one single packet of honey. Honey is a key condiment in a this type of a chicken sandwich food chain. I'm sure the owners know better than I do. This is not a complaint the Burbank location, but an issue with their gift cards. Twice now, once with a physical card for $25 and another an online gift card for $100 we received from friends (because we love Daves!) The cashiers at Daves at multiple locations have not been able to get their system at the register to acknowledge and take money from our gift cards. I've had to just pay with cash because, after literally 10x tries each time, the system says "processing" after I swipe or scan my codes (both verified online to have the full, correct balance) but their systems won't complete the transaction with a gift card. I lost track of how many times, (each instance) the cashier pushes some buttons then says try again, just to not complete the transaction as the line being me piles up and people are getting mad at me for holding up the line. Seriously? and at multiple locations? Has anyone else had this problem? This not a start-up business, why is this happening? Daves was really really good when they were in Hollywood in the parking lot. The quality, sizes of the tenders was a bit smaller and thinner. Now you get a big chicken tender that you can barely bite, the rub is dry, max n cheese feels like microwaved, just overall not the same Daves hot chicken.
