Fun atmosphere inside and out. I came here for some take out and the two guys at the register were super helpful as it was my first time. The menu was a little confusing at first. I ordered three varieties of nuggets: original, medium, and reaper. The reaper seasoning requires the recipient to sign a waiver in the event that the "heat" causes damage. The place looked pretty clean and well maintained overall. The kitchen was visible from the ordering station and the supervisors and packers were super attentive to who was waiting for their order and when it would be ready. They also had a separate huge screen with people's delivery orders organized by provider like Uber Eats, GrubHub, etc. The nuggets kept warm in their containers until I reached home. My s.o. and I tried them all and everything was perfect. The reaper was fire but also extremely hot, similar to when we tried the spiciest chicken sandwich challenge, but not nearly as bad, in a good way. The original is bomb. No flames just simple breaded chicken. And the medium was like a little kick of spicy. We enjoyed all of them. One star removed for cold french fries that came with the orders. I love the story of how it started out of a garage in Hollywood and has now expanded across the U.S. I love a good entrepreneur success story. On this rainy December day after Christmas we were heading to Roosevelt Field Mall and decided to detour to Dave's. The parking lot was crazy and the place was pretty crowded but we managed to find a table quickly. The staff was nice and friendly. The decor was interesting .. hip without trying too hard. The big "Strong Island" sign emphasized local ties even though the chain started in LA. We first balked at the prices. But then we saw the serving sizes!! First, the chicken "tenders" are the size of chicken cutlets. The meals look expensive ($12 for 1 tender, pickles and fries) but a single tender is a full meal for most people! It's served on a slice of white bread, which is probably the only aspect of the entire meal that's not impressive! We ordered the large loaded fries ($17), a tender meal ($12) and 2 single tenders ($5+ each.) Again, keep in mind the tenders are huge. I'd rather have a single tender than two McDonald's snack wraps. So now, what you're probably wondering: How did it taste? Amazing!!! We got mild and no spice. The mild was just spicy enough but even the plain tenders were excellent -- crispy and clearly made with high quality, juicy chicken. The fries came fully loaded with Kale slaw, cheese, pickles, sauce, and 10 chicken bites plus Dave's sauce. The fries stayed crispy and delicious. I'm not a big fry person but these were fantastic. I drove by this location of Dave's Hot Chicken a few times and saw that it had a pretty big following. Finally came with a friend recently to try it for dinner. Seems like the place uses a lot of red and yellow in its marketing and is popular amongst young people. The vibe was pretty popping and lively when we walked in and the place was pretty packed out. I ordered the #1 combo (2 tenders w/ fries, $13) and my friend ordered the 2 sliders meal ($15). The total for my meal came out to $14.11. Unfortunately, the meals don't come with a drink, which was pretty disappointing. I found the chicken pieces in our meals to be pretty big. The tenders were pretty sizable and the sliders that my friend got seemed closer in size to actual chicken sandwiches. So that was good. I got the 'mild' level of spice. It wasn't spicy at all but the flavor of the rub was really good IMO. The chicken seemed like it was relatively high quality for fast food. The tender had a good crunch to it and the chicken was pretty moist. Overall the tender was excellent and I was impressed. The fries were pretty normal, crinkle cut fast food fries. Pretty similar / same to the fries you'd get a Shake Shack. They were good as well. The tenders meal also come with pieces of white bread, which were nothing special but appreciated. They also gave more food than I thought they would w/ the combo, but wasn't overwhelming. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my meal at Dave's Hot Chicken. The food was good the first time I came however the pictures of the sliders they have on the menu are very misleading making it seem the sliders are bigger than they are. After receiving the sliders it was very disappointing to see it was just a chicken tender cut in 4. The sliders were all connected not even cut. The food is good however after eating it a couple times it seems to lose its novelty. It's day two so the lines are extremely long but they're efficient and kept it moving. Customer Service? Amazing, 5 stars. I got 2 sliders and cheese fries and it was just like I remembered. Thick, juicy and spicy as hell! I love it!! I also ordered a single slider, mild for my wife and that's where something went wrong unfortunately. Maybe I'm missing something but as you can see in the picture it's a tender and a slice of bread with a couple of pickles. No sauce, slaw or bun, an actual slice of bread. I had a terrible experience at this Dave's Hot Chicken location. I ordered buffalo chicken and paid for it. While waiting for my order, I noticed on the receipt that it had been entered as BBQ instead of buffalo. I went back to the counter and politely explained that I had ordered buffalo, not BBQ. Instead of correcting the mistake, the employee told me that the BBQ chicken had already been made. I explained that the error was made by their coworker when taking my order, so I shouldn't be expected to accept the wrong item. Rather than apologizing or offering to fix the mistake, the employee gave me an attitude and was rude throughout the interaction. I ended up leaving without my food and without a refund. This was completely unacceptable customer service. Mistakes happen, but it's how a business handles them that matters. Instead of taking responsibility, they treated me disrespectfully. Came here with the girls on a Thursday for lunch, it was super busy & luckily we were able to get a table. Got 3 orders of the Dave's #1- Mild, which consists of 2 tenders & fries served with sliced bread, pickles & Dave's sauce. First off the service here was impeccable, for a quick bite everyone was very friendly and generous. The place is small, the seating inside can maybe accommodate about 30 people I would say? The decor is really nice. Of course I had to try one reaper slider, so I got one reaper (which I'll include a picture of) and one hot slider (forgot to take a pic of it) and fries. I asked for everything to be well done including the fries. Everything came out perfectly. They were extremely generous with Dave's sauce as well as ketchup. The reaper is hot! It's a good hot. As a fun of spicy food this was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the inside very moist with great potato buns holding the slider together with pickles. Absolutely delicious. I waited about 10 mins to eat my 2nd slider and fries, both still piping hot! Absolutely gem of a place. They also have a rewards program, definitely well worth it and I'm glad I tried it. The slider was phenom- huge piece of fried chicken on a roll with kale slaw and pickles. Meals are served with a generous portion of fries and extra pickles. Mac n cheese was creamy and I loved the extra kale slaw (not too soaked in mayo). Vanilla shake was super sweet but I guess that's the goal. My toddler gave her strawberry shake two thumbs up. Lots of hype about this place so I made sure to come by... several weeks after opening and during lunch to avoid crowds of course! Per a sign on the door, online pick up are now available for those interested. The "slider" is basically a full size chicken sandwich. You choose the level of spice. I chose hot and I thought it was true to the spice level. I have to say I am very impressed! Dare I say it but it is on par with Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich... if not maybe even better! The batter was just right. The chicken was large yet maintained its juiciness. The fries were not anything special. Drinks do not come with the meals so be sure to order a drink separately (or ask for a cup for free water). Workers here are very pleasant. Really cool decor. Considering it's a fast food joint, my husband did not have high expectations of the place. We had another family with us and they were very happy with the food too. You can order based on your heat tolerance, ranging from 7 levels of spiciness, No Spice to Reaper. Their chicken slider was very crispy, juicy, tender and absolutely satiating. The soft bun with the pickles and cole slaw, along with the big juicy bite of fried chicken definitely hit the spot! We devoured the Oreo milkshake, it was the perfect milkshake. My husband and I don't even like milkshakes! It was a perfect combo of ice cream and Oreo cookie bites. Both our kids loved their the chicken mini sliders. They are basically the same as the chicken slider but with the chicken bites. The chicken bites have its own different marinade. Whilst the chicken slider is a big piece of fried chicken with Dave's signature drizzle sauce on it, the nuggets were a little more wet with a smokey and zesty zing to it. We got 40 Dave's bites hot box 10/10 - no spice (you can not ask to have half no spice and half another which is pretty annoying as my kids don't like spice but I love it; they also don't have any spice sauce on the side as their spice is more of a dry rub). Dave's bites are the size of nuggets and they were tender and tasty (dark meat). Two slider meal - hot spice: 9/10 came with pickles and fries (fries were good). Hot spice was very spicy where it really hits you at the end. Each slider had one tender in it with their cabbage slaw and pickles - one slider was the perfect size for me. Two tender meal - medium spice: 8/10 came with pickles and fries. Their side Mac and cheese is very small (not enough for a kid if that's all they are eating); but otherwise tasty 8/10. Oreo vanilla milkshake - 9/10; you choose the topping (Oreo) and a flavor for the ice cream (chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla). It was very tasty and would have been perfect if it wasn't so melted/watery. The vanilla ice cream reminded me of Hershey's ice cream which is one of my favorites. From the ambiance walking in, to the super friendly register folks- great vibes to start. I got a bunch of things to try them all in different spice levels. Now a bit about me- your girl can only handle a little bit of spice. I got mini sliders and nuggets (the mini sliders are pretty much a nugget in between a roll that tastes a bit sweet like kings Hawaiian with slaw and a pickle). The nuggets come with a slice of bread at the bottom and pickles. I have to say the chicken was very moist and not too salty. Very tasty! For my low spice tolerance, I thought the medium was actually not too bad and the spicy was more tolerable than expected (but it did get spicy after a few bites). I also got more kale slaw on the side and Mac and cheese. I recommend both. Just a slight drawback- the food does take a while to come out and it wasn't that busy. It was pretty busy, so honestly I don't even know what music was playing. The food was PIPING, so it was definitely fresh. We ordered a tender, a slider, and nuggets. I was scared the tender would be too thick, but honestly it was fine. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the "sauce". It seemed like they just dumped the chicken in grease and threw on seasoning. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be, but it made me feel really ill and I only had a few bites of each item. Personally, I would rather it be an actual sauce, rather than what seemed like oil. My favorite item was the slider because the slaw cut the grease. The pickles were also great, pretty salty, the way I prefer.
