Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a roll

I'm used to getting breakfast from St. Brigid's deli further down Post Ave but recently got the chance to try Joe's Deli a few times for breakfast. I noticed this place gets a lot of business so guess that is a good sign. The place is pretty clean and well kept. What I really like about this place is that their menu and prices are crystal clear. Their items are written in big letters on colorful pieces of paper and it's very easy to choose what you want and know how much it'll cost. I feel like this should be standard at any food place when you walk in, but sadly, it is not. I've tried a few of the breakfast special items and have been pretty pleased with the quality and flavor of all of them. I've had the standard bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll ($4.50 / it's $4.89 including tax), the hungry man hero ($8.50 / it's $9.25 including tax), and the bacon w/ 3 pancakes special ($6.50 / it's $7.09 including tax). All items were good; nothing mindblowing, but solid performance for the price. Their prices are pretty reasonable compared to some other deli's, so that is a positive in my book. Also, I'm pretty sure this place charges a fee for credit card, so paying in cash is probably best. So overall I'd recommend Joe's Deli and hope it continues to deliver quality breakfast and sandwiches at good price points for a long time.

Home fries, sausage patty and eggs.

The inside is very millennial style with the grey and black ambiance. It's pretty open spatially and there's a menu on the wall. They make their own brewed iced tea. Their sandwiches are pretty clear in description. I dislike that the chicken sandwich pastrami sauce has pork in it, so anyone who avoids pig products like the plague needs to inform them when making the order. The sandwich itself was pretty good. The bread didn't cause my lips to flare up like other yeasts do. They didn't go heavy on the balsamic vinaigrette. The workers came out to greet me and give me a tour even though it's pretty self explanatory. After the drinks refrigerator and sandwiches menu, there are three additional menus for sides, fruit/veggie smoothies and protein smoothies. I ordered a chocolate protein smoothie and the cups they have are larger than the portions they serve. They apologized like it was an inconvenience to me, but actually I was happy that I didn't have to worry about any overflow or spillage. I think it's great that it's a tad bigger. I also bought a pan de nata to try. They forgot to add the cinnamon, but it didn't need it. It was done to perfection. Bakers of All Nations in Mineola now has some good competition. On the walls surrounding the smoothie bar and dining area there's a mural that explains the type of cuisine you're getting and about the chef's travels. It's kind of neat. Happy eats!

Locals were strolling in for sandwiches and salads. Highly recommend going with the delicious Portuguese styled bread either on the side or sandwiches. Below are some of the Smartwich team which includes also includes a nephew and and uncle / founder.. This is a family business with the founder is a brother of one of the top local Italian bakeries in Nassau. The bakery also provided the start up space originally in Hicksville during the incubator phase. It makes perfect sense when you have a delicious warm crispy Portuguese roll for the sandwiches. This talented brother had many years in the food industry in Portugal and is a fan of their crispy styled bread/rolls. They are now made right here. Sandwiches are nicely made, fresh, flavorful and a step above the generic sandwich places. Elevated flavors and dressed with a nice vinaigrette. Lots of choices. We started with the popular and will venture out to the more creative. Sardines and octopus looked good but can wait until another day.
