Ordered the Fatboy, fries, rings, and a soda. $40 later it was a greasy, over fried mess that I received. The hamburger meat itself was good quality, it was just drowned in some tasteless watery sauce that was unnecessary. Onion rings seemed like they'd been fried multiple times, they were breaking apart. Sweet potato fries were also sloppy and greasy. Great burger! A little underseasoned but the beef was super juicy and definitely not previously frozen. Toppings were crisp and potato bun pillow soft and fluffy. The fries were a little over fried for my preference but some folks dig that. Pretty unique burger combinations. I ordered the Triumph burger which had cimini mushrooms, blue cheese, truffle mayo. The burger, suprisingly had a pink tinge in the middle. It was good but Next time I'd get something w/o the bleu cheese and truffle mayo. Burger was a bit greasy tho. Fries were satisfactory. We've ordered here several times. Food is usually ok, but seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Last night it was inedible, and I ended up throwing most of it away. Chicken was overcooked and dry, milkshakes were basically just blended milk with maybe a tablespoon of the ice cream. Maybe they changed who is running the place or the cooks? The staff was friendly, place was clean. We ordered the original chopper with cheese, with the sauce on the side. The burger was juicy, nice proportions for the tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese and potato bun. The raw onions on the burger were too thin so when you bite into the slices the stringy peel comes off making it difficult to bite through. Their chopper sauce was pretty good. We made it a meal by adding the fries and a drink but the fries were cold, a little stale I dont know if they were sitting out for long, otherwise they were fine. I visited yesterday (Saturday) for the first time and I'm not gonna lie ... the Choppers Fat Boy was really delicious! Menu says it has two Angus beef patties, cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, cheese sauce, BBQ onions, Applewood smoked bacon, and chopper sauce. I skipped the potato bun and opted for a "lettuce bun." Perhaps the lettuce bun was an additional 50 cents from the menu price of $12.99. The regular size fries ($3.25) were very tasty! Choppers Burger Bar occupies the former Jack's Shack owned by Willie Degel (opened in 2011), host of Food Network's "Restaurant Stakeout." Jack's Shack was supposed to be a prototype for a future franchise. Seems that never got off the ground. Choppers Burger Bar is owned by two restaurateurs Kent Monkan (owner of Brass Rail in Locust Valley and Heirloom Tavern in Glen Head and, and The Wild Goose in the Port Washington) and Nick Litterello (head of catering at the Sea Cliff Yacht Club). I do however suggest that they make a point to clear/clean the tables and put away the serving trays that had collected on top of the garbage can. Went here while my car was being serviced down the street. Staff was very polite and helpful, which is very important. The Sweet Potato fries are the best I've ever had. And I LOVE fries and have had many other good fries. But these were perfect/ top of the line. Perfect seasoning. I also got the "Fat Boy" burger but with no Bacon. It was juicy and cheesy. Tasty. I had the Chief Burger and my friend had the Chopper Classic with fries so it was considered a meal. We also had loaded fries on one of the meals. The total was $38.00 ... so not worth it. The burger was cooked perfectly and had all the right veggies and sauce to compliment it. The fries were also really good. I opted to take some truffle mayo as a sauce for them instead of ketchup which was a really good decision. Overall, this place is really great, clean, and pretty affordable. My husband and I went last night and I got the Clucker and he got the Original burger. He said the burger was good, a burger is a burger lol He's a plain Jane so burger had nothing on it but cheese and ketchup. He gobbled it up so enjoyed it-nuff said! I got the Clucker (see pic) and it was was the best, juiciest, crispy white meat fried chicken sandwich I've had in a long time!!! Helps to note I am extremely picky when it comes to restaurant chicken. Smiling workers behind the counter and a clean restaurant, made for a nice vibe. Fun decor too. So my experience begins when my coworker brings in the choppers Burger Bar menu, I said okay let me try to order food looked great...its the Wednesday before Christmas. So I try door dash okay you can't order through door dash only Uber eats okay so logged into Uber.I look up choppers again and they're closed so I'm like damn let me try calling and the person I spoke to was the reason I'm writing this review. When I say he lacked empathy in his voice you'd think this man had no soul over the phone. So he checks the Uber app on his phone and it is closed but it was what he said next that really got me. I asked if theirs anyway to fix this he said and I quote "I don't know what to tell you, The owner has us closed on Wednesday" well tell me something like try again tomorrow or we'll fix this ASAP something not just a dry ass robotic voice "I don't know what to tell you" that pissed me off, Like if this guy sounds like he hates his job why would I want to spend my hard earned money to eat this food but anyway I ended up starving to death. read more

I placed a takeout order tonight for two salads, two fries and a double. Went to pick it up, and was handed a single bag from one of the employees. I even left them a nice tip. I get home only to find out half of my order is missing from the bag. No fries and no burger. I called them up and they refused to take ownership of the mistake instead insisting it was my fault despite only being handed one bag. Having good food only gets you so far. I've ordered from this place over Uber eats twice. The Food is super flavorful and They get it made very quickly which is super convenient. They cook their patties to a medium temperature unless you specify otherwise which is something to keep in mind if you have other preferences like myself but the second time I ordered I requested they cook my patties to well done and my burger was absolutely perfect!!! Anyone looking for a tasty and filling quick bite to eat should definitely Try choppers out. Surprised to see the mixed reviews. We had a fairly large order with roughly 7 meals and everything was done great as ordered. Burgers and chicken sandwiches were all delicious as were the fries with various toppings (loaded and nacho). Staff were extremely friendly and professional. We'll be back for sure. I wish them success and really think folks need to give a new spot a chance and some time to settle in before they start tossing around any negativity on various platforms. Choppers burger is a new burger place right in the heart of glen head. Unfortunately with another burger place being nearby (sid's), Choppers already has something to live up to and they aren't quite there yet. I ordered the Choppers Triumph. Overall an ok burger. The toppings on top made it flavorful, but the burger patty itself is very tasteless. And the burger started to crumble midway through eating so you have to eat the rest with a fork (also happened to my boyfriends burger). They charge you for extra toppings, on top of an already overpriced burger. They also offer salads which are $12+, and THEN an addition $6 to add a protein, insane. The shakes are $7.59 (with tax) and they have yet to get the recipe down for their shakes. I got the cookies and cream one and it didn't even taste like a milkshake. It was so watery and milky. Their saving grace are there fries which were really yummy. A good in between of crispy and potatoey. I gave them three stars because these things can easily be improved and hopefully they do improve them so they can do well in this area. I don't plan on coming back any time soon though, I'll stick to Sid's and maybe come back in a few months to see if they fixed any of these things. read more

So I saw this near my workplace, and to be honest, I wasted $15 for make it your own double cheeseburger and regular fries. The fries are good but the burger was not that great. We love choppers! The food is fast and delicious and service is friendly and accommodating. A few suggestions: 1. The regular fries are great (when they're fresh). Many times we get an old batch and they just taste burnt. Sweet potato fries have been consistently yummy. 2. The salads are surprisingly good not only for a burger joint. There tends to be a small swamp of dressing in the bottom 30% of the bowl though. 3. Would love a Buffalo sauce option for the burgers. 4. The milkshakes rock. Love the vegan option. Maybe offer some toppings to throw in like Oreos or m&m's. 5. Love your vegetarian friendly options. It's great to have a place that gives plenty of those kind of options. 6.
