As a first timer, I love that the menu is basically 3 options to keep things simple and you can pick the level of spice. I got the tender and slider combo, and my husband got the 2 slider combo. Each combo comes with a side. I stuck with the french fries, and he changed his to mac and cheese. The tender meals come with thick white bread, and a slider is basically the tender in a burger bun topped with slaw and sauce. The portions are huge! We each ended up eating only half our meal, and got the rest to enjoy as lunch the next day. The seasoning on the chicken is amazing. I went with a medium and hot, and their levels of spice are pretty high, so I think medium is the perfect level for me. I wish their chicken was crispy, but the seasoning definitely makes up for it. The prices are the same as in LA. less than $20 for a meal that can feed 2 people. I ordered the sliders, medium spice level. The spice level was perfect. Their slaw tastes just like the one they use in LA (my favorite).The only difference in the ingredients is the bread, it's good, I'm just used to their regular buns. Also, the size of fries that came in the order was lacking. You'd think with two chicken sandwiches, the number of fries would be equal to a meal for two, no? As I said, the chicken was the bomb. First, I love hot chicken, Nashville style: with dry rub and no "wet" sauce. This chicken is perfectly cooked. To my surprise the "tenders" were not that small. I was only able to eat one slider and fries. Got a mix of hot and extra hot. Extra hot was good enough for me and I love spice. The "reaper" level heat may be too much! Seasoned fries are crinkle cut and tasty. Avoid the "cheese" sauce. Not good. Likely the same stuff as you get at every hot dog stand. Doesn't taste like cheese. I did order a side of kale slaw. Very good way to cool down the burn from the chicken. Alto ordered the Mac n cheese. Bland. Tasted like plastic. Like the cheese sauce, tasted artificial. Skip it. I was very excited to eat Dave's Hot Chicken at this location because I liked it so much after getting Uber Eats from the Melrose location. We walked in and were super excited to order and we were greeted by the woman cashier. I said we just had to look at the menu real quick and all of a sudden she just said, "One more hour of this and I can leave". I understand how hard it is working in food service. Those are my sentiments exactly when I work but I don't think we needed to hear it when all we were trying to do was look at a menu. After that she just acted very rude the whole time we ordered and was not nice at all. It really ruined my experience and the chicken I had was decent but I honestly had the worst stomachache ever after that meal. I must say their hot chicken tenders was hot and so flavorful. Every bite was tender moist chicken with a kick was great flavor. Their pickles and sauce was a nice balance to the hot chicken. The whole place looks pretty cool. We tried their Half and Half with Fries which surprisingly comes with a lot of side dishes. The chicken tastes delicious, especially the skin. Also It goes well with all the side dishes, of course with the fries which tastes so good. I'm not a huge fan of how the pickles taste, so I did not enjoy it. We wanted to try it, out of curiosity. First red flag was the cashier, handling money and wearing no gloves, grabbing our drink cups and putting his fingers inside the cup. He grabbed the cups and had practically his whole hand in there. Yuck! Management needs to teach proper hygiene. Second red flag was good runners not properly masking. I don't wanna see your hand wipe your nose, and then adjust your mask only to keep it below your nose...then grab food for patrons to eat. Hygiene here is not top priority. Food was ok.
