I really do enjoy DHC. I like their chicken more than Raising Cane's but still think Howlin Ray's is the best in LA. This location is quite large with a large free parking lot attached in front and many tables inside and a covered outdoor eating area as well. One issue that I had was they forgot my Mac & Cheese side so when I got home, I noticed the missing item. The attendant who helped me was very polite, however. Just hate when I pay for and don't get an item. For this visit, I chose the Chicken Finger Meal, the new Hot Mozz, and the Mac & Cheese, however, they forgot the M&C. The Hot Mozz was pretty good, although not nearly as good as the Chili's version. The chicken is also very nice, and a great option, it can get quite spicy at the upper levels too. We made an online order to pickup at 6:50pm but the food was not ready until 25 minutes later, at 7:15pm. There was a big crowd of people waiting for their online orders as well. When we opened the box, we realized both of the sandwiches had no pickles, even though we ordered just 1 without. The chicken was also not spicy at all, even though we ordered both at medium. This was a very disappointing experience since this used to be my favorite spot for fried chicken sandwiches. I think Al's hot chicken is a better option in the area now. read more

This location is in that busy strip mall in the Palm/Culver City area. Parking there can get a little hectic depending on when you go because it shares a lot with lots of other restaurants and the LA Fitness gym. I've been here a few times. A couple dining in and one where I got takeout and brought it home. They have consistently good sandwiches here and delicious fries. Can't complain there. Finally trying Dave's! The chicken was really nice and crispy. I am bummed that they don't give you Dave's sauce with your meal combo... it was on the sandwich but you need to get a separate one for the tender...the medium spice is a very moderate spice. This was our first time ever at Dave's Hot Chicken. We ordered at the kiosk, and we got the two slider combo and an additional tender. We got light mild and mild (for the combo) and medium (for the tender). Food was ready in 10 mins. Overall, it was quite tasty. The chicken was extremely moist and the breading was delicious. The sauce, pickle, and slaw accentuated the flavor of the slider. The fries were crunchy and satisfying. The spice level of the sliders and tender was very tolerable, so if you want more intense spice then go above medium. Relative to Main Chick and Red Chicks, the chicken here was very juicy and not dry at all. Even though the flavor profile wasn't really innovative, it was still super tasty. We'll come back if we have a craving for Nashville hot chicken. read more

Chick...uhmm, is it just me or is there an unwelcomed twang in their seasoning? This is my second time here. The first time I got the hottest of the hot, and thought it was just delightful. Today, I wanted to go a little easier on my belly, so I got one hot and one extra hot. The extra hot was alright, but something tasted odd. So I tried the hot. As it seems, there is a weird taste to the batter/seasoning, you just can't taste it as much as you go hotter on the scale. Absolutely delicious!! It does only come as a slider so if you're really hungry maybe get two. The fries were also sooooo bomb. Got extra seasoning and sauce packets to really party it up. The staff told me they don't know how long it'll be on the menu, sounds like it might come and go. But it's there now so jump at it my fellow herbivores! Quality has gone downhill. I paid almost $50 for a meal for 2. We got a combo and upgraded the fries to cheese fries and received plain fries. Also didnt receive any Daves sauce so the chicken was dry. And lastly we paid $3.99 extra for ranch dipping sauce which we did not receive. Plus tip on everything. The flavors were quite bland, and I am not even particularly good with spice - the mild barely had a kick, and even the medium was not significantly spicier. The portion of fries was smaller than expected, and the inside of the fry was not fluffy. The crisp level was alright. The chicken meat for both the nuggets and the sandwich did not taste super fresh or juicy, and the coleslaw was a bit soggy. The crispiness of the batter was ok. Wasn't for sure what the size of the tenders would be, but must admit that I was impressed with the thickness and tenderness of the chicken. I tried two flavors, medium and hot, I actually preferred the medium and not due to the heat, but the hot felt more like a dry rub they use to make it hot and I prefer a sauce. Dave's Hot Chicken sent me a text that evening to rate my visit. I informed them what happened and "we'll work to improve" was their response. I've been back to Dave's a few times. I really like their sandwiches. Last time I got the mild. It lived up to the name. I think I'll go one level hotter next time. I'm not a fan of their Kale Slaw. I don't mind the kale, but there's a lack of flavor maybe due to the limited sauce. It's possible if you get a serving from the bottom of the supply their is more sauce, but the last two times I've gone it's been pretty dry. Honestly really good fried chicken sandwiches!! The chicken is surprisingly juicy and super flavorful. The bread is buttered nicely too which is a great touch. Their sauce doesn't really stand out to me but that's ok -- I feel like the chicken is the star of the sandwich anyway. Gets your hands so greasy when you eat it but sometimes we need that :) Also I love their fries so much. They're seasoned so well and not soggy! Btw the medium is like a perfect level of spice for me and I don't have a super high spice tolerance, so if you love spicy food you could probably order hot or above (but the reaper you need to sign a liability waiver for apparently, so approach with caution). At this particular location it wasn't crowded inside when I went around 9pm on a weekday, so there wasn't much a line. We ordered in person and got it to go (wish they had a drive thru). The workers were friendly but they forgot half our order at first, so I don't know how reliable this location would be if you got delivery from here. There's limited seating inside the restaurant but they do have an outdoor patio with lots of seating which would be nice on warmer days/nights. read more
