There's a simple laidback vibe that is bright and clean with lots of plant accents, both real and fake that look beautiful all together. Ok bella... Since this is my first time trying this place out I have to see whats what from the staff on the vegan options. Yes there is vegan "cheese" and vegan friendly options! The person at the counter directs me to the vegan Neapolitan style pizza and now I have options of doing it up veggie style or keeping it simple...do it up with peppers mushrooms and arugula. Umm-K bella! The interaction was quick, as the person was knowledgeable and genuinely content to be there, which indicates staff are treated well! This is a great start even the cook was smiling and greeted me! As I'm waiting I notice all of the offerings such as the pizza by the slice, the gelato, and coffee! Getting my pizza was quick! It took 13 min total with ordering and getting back to the car pizza with in hand! I put 30 min on the meter and I had 18min left when I got to the car! When I got home the pizza was the perfect temp and it's perfection! The dough is simple but fresh, perfectly crafted, perfectly cooked! The SAUCE also fresh and it's the star of the show with a perfect blend of flavors! The vegan cheese was carefully selected to be creamy and rich but mild in flavor blending everything including the veggie toppings together! This hit the spot on my pizza craving it was not only satisfying it was filling! Mmmmm K bella My bill came to 20$ which isn't bad at all. For a proper Italian pizza they are quite good, although I would ask for my pizza done extra crispy the next time. Prosciutto was quality and arugula was fresh, crust was very thin and light, and the vibe was light and spacious. This was my first time trying KBella Pizza. I had a great conversation with Sara who is the owner. She's originally from Milan and is very friendly and knowledgeable. I tried a Margherita Slice and the Arancini (rice balls). Both were very good. The one criticism I have is the ratio of Cheese and Sauce to dough. Now maybe that's the way Roman pizza is served in Italy, but that's just my personal preference. Sara said they also make Neapolitan Pizza too, which I will try next time. She definitely uses quality ingredients and it was obvious. I'm definitely going to try KBella again. read more

My only regret with KBella was not trying it earlier! What a local neighborhood gem! The pizzas we tried tasted fresh and gourmet. No frozen pizza here! Our family had a variety of slices and a 12" Neapolitan margherita pizza, plus Caesar salad, focaccia bread and the Nutella bites. Everything was so delicious from beginning to end. The Roman-style crust slices were sizable and adequate for a meal in itself with sides, and the 12" perfect for a bigger appetite. Our favorite slice was by far the Mordatella pesto, so unique and delicious! The prosciutto arugula was tasty as was the margherita. Everyone was stuffed! And the Nutella bites were a great way to polish off a great meal! Service as fantastic as well. The staff were all pleasant and patient with our questions. TL;DR: This place should be packed on a Tuesday at lunch. I should not be able to eat food this brilliantly made this easily. Everything about this place just shows me how much the owner cares. It is easily -- EASILY -- the best (yes, I used the b-word) sandwich and pizza restaurant in Culver City, and arguably one of the two or three best in all of Los Angeles. The food: finesse, balance, seasoning (!!), extreme attention to detail on texture, 00 flour WIZARDRY TL: Anyone who has spent enough time caring about food has met that guy -- he says he cooks, puts the time in to source perfect ingredients, knows how to pronounce the dishes and ingredients in their native language, rattles off a few choice facts about what he prepared for you. He makes sure to talk about how challenging and expensive this all was. It's probably some overwrought thing that's decent at best, but there isn't a dish on earth delicious enough to put up with all that talking. Then you go in his kitchen -- total shit show. It looks like a tornado hit it. Here's the thing: this guy shouldn't be cooking for other people. I don't care what anyone says. The first thing everyone needs to learn in cooking, before you so much as fry an egg, is how to keep a tidy workspace. It's not because everyone who cooks is supposed to be a neat freak. It's because tidiness creates trust about the safety of what you're eating. It's the first step of showing care for the people you're serving -- all the more important because your guests usually can't see it. The aforementioned guy isn't cooking for other people. He might serve food he made to other people... but he's cooking for himself. Why the long preamble, Euno? Because KBella is the exact polar fucking opposite of that guy. This is the cleanest pizza restaurant I have seen since Pizza Studio Tamaki in Tokyo... in 2019. In Culver City, of all places. A spot this clean establishes immediate trust. Their menu and descriptions don't tell you how high quality everything is -- you have to taste it to know, and you have to have tasted a lot of mediocre and bad pizza and panini to know just how special this place really is, which un/luckily I have. There is doppio zero alchemy going on back there. The margherita pizza is probably one of my two favorites in the city. The mozzarella they use has this clean taste of fresh milk running underneath it. Tasting this is possible because the tomatoes don't overdo the acidity, the crust isn't obtrusively bitter the way these pies tend to be, and the cheese is not too salty. This is not the leopard spotted bottom margherita that everyone points to as a platonic ideal (I always thought this standard didn't always taste the best). In my opinion it's something much more palatable, a crust that ranges from airy and substantive in the middle to deeply nutty without being bitter at the perimeter. A good balance of chew and crispiness. Everything feels fine-tuned and showcases the cook's finesse. This is definitely a Bella pizza and not a Bello pizza, if you know what I mean. I also ordered the prosciutto panini. This sandwich is what made me decide to write the review. I think many of us when we think of foods that are comforting and/or delicious, we think so because it transports us back in time to a place or time we particularly loved. Well, this focaccia takes me back to a weird place to think of so fondly: Momofuku Nishi in New York City. I know, RIP. Anyone who had the focaccia there knows there was something special about it that made it crispy-not-crunchy, light and airy but still with enough chew for substance. It was the platonic ideal of focaccia bread. KBella's is pretty damn close. Nicely toasted bottom, light and airy and crispy with enough chew to be there but not so much that you regret biting into it. A bed of arugula that's not too peppery is the bottom layer. A little tomato, and a healthy serving of prosciutto. Again -- balanced, seasoned all to a T. This is one of my favorite sandwiches I've eaten in the past three years. And I've eaten a lot of sandwiches in the past three years. Like I said in the TL;DR: It should not be this easy to eat at a place like this. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before there's lines out the door. read more

Honestly when I saw the pizza at the end of the day sitting behind the glass, it did NOT look appetizing. HOWEVER, this was my first time trying this place, so I decided to give it a shot - I ordered my own pepperoni neopolitan-style 12" pie. I also ordered two Nutella squares. I asked for the curbside option, though after waiting for a while I wasn't sure if it was supposed to come out, so I went into the empty shop on my own. I was greeted by a kind woman who got me my pie and food right away, and I was sad to hear they didn't have parmesan. DESPITE all this, the food was honestly really good, and I have been to Italy, and eaten pizza in New Haven, Brooklyn, etc. The Neopolitan style pie was crispy enough, but more importantly the sauce tasted super fresh, as did the cheese and pepperoni. The Nutella squares were literally 1 bite big (for a 32 yr old man), so they were overpriced for dough and nutella and sugar, but they were quite delicious as well. I will be buying my own pastry dough and making my own Nutella bites, thank you very much! OVERALL -- will go back for the pizza, and will be trying the sad looking pizza that is served by the slice - I'm sure it's revived in the oven and tastes great. This new pizza place easily became my favorite pizza in LA after just one visit. I was so lucky to enjoy the food and relaxing atmosphere on their first day open! As usual, I will start with the positive first... The location is convenient to the west side. The interior is a work in progress, but it's set up for convenient dining. The owner is personable and she is earnest in her desire to grow the business. The prices are also fair. So where things go downhill is the food. If you're going to dine here, the food is prepared like it is in Italy. What that means is the pizza slices have a minimum amount of sauce and toppings. We were expecting, and wanted, much more cheese and sauce on the slices. Reheating the slices and eating them was not a good experience. Way too much bread and not enough of the actual protein. Frankly, they are bit stingy with their meat. Next, the focaccia itself is not light and airy like you would get at pasta sisters. It is quite dense and hard... Almost like it was undercooked. If you've been to Italy, you know that Italians for the most part don't use a lot of sauce and are sparse with their toppings. I was hoping that this place would adjust that philosophy for a middle ground where there is more of everything on top of a focaccia that is desirable. read more

The pesto mortadella burrata pizza was AMAZING! It can be a turn off the see the pizza cold in the window but they prepare them in the morning and you wouldn't tell the difference once they finish the cooking process in the oven and add the fresh toppings. The mortadella was thin and their homemade infused olive oil was delicious as well. It reminded me of home when my grandparents who are Italian chefs would make pizzas. It is definitely authentic and light. For those who wrote here they're being stingy on the toppings, they're not. They have the perfect balance. I'm happy I didn't listen to the negative reviews. What a great, affordable, low-key Italian restaurant hiding in plain sight! The owner is Italian, and all of the ingredients (not only for the pizza but also for the salads and other menu items) are sourced through Italian suppliers. The taste and quality certainly reflect that. My wife and I started by sharing a fresh, crispy (and ample) caesar salad. When we told the owner how much we enjoyed the dressing (wasn't too heavy), she said she uses Italian ingredients that she mixes in house (so it's not pre-mixed). Even the salad's thin slices of parmesan cheese were - you guessed it - Italian. After the salad we had a delicious margherita pizza, cooked just right; the quality and tastiness of the tomato sauce screamed out "fresh" and "Italian". Our meal had already landed KBella on our "favorites" list when we got an extra bonus: the gelato we had for dessert. The best we've had in LA, at prices that, while I wouldn't call cheap, were half of what we've paid at some of the big name places. We went after a basketball game at CC high school so we were 6. Right away the hostess fixed a 6 top for us. My husband and I shared an order of Arancini and a Margarita pizza. Both were excellent. Very delicious and the sauce was exceptional and the Arancini crispy on the outside and yummy cheese on inside. The service was great and fast considering the size of our party. My intuition led me here and it didn't disappoint. I was stuck in heavy traffic and this was close off the freeway exit. I was surprised that there was easy and convenient free street parking. The place is cute and the staff is very friendly. I tried a couple of different slices and they add certain toppings after you order so everything is fresh. I ordered the rice balls as well which was amazing. I normally don't eat pork but had to try the sausage pizza and it was really good. I'm impressed that the pepperoni was made without pork which is hard to find. I'm happy they accept both cash and card because cash is king.
