My husband and I wanted to try something new so we stopped here. I ordered the "hot" chicken tenders. He ordered "medium". Mine had way more flavor but definitely was more spicy. It tasted like the rub has curry. For tenders, I thought the portions were good. The Mac and cheese was decent. I liked having the pickles. The bread was unnecessary to me. For Oklahoma hot chicken, this place is great. I've traveled a bit and had hot chicken in other parts of the country that I preferred over DHC, but this place hits the spot. I'd say the slider is much more akin to a sandwich than a slider. When I think slider, I usually have 2-3 and it's just the right amount. These "sliders" are huge and from now on, I'll just be getting one and maybe a tender if I'm super hungry. The meal needs acid to best complement the spice. I like to order extra pickles. The fries, as all fries are, best when they are piping hot. We've been to DHC a few times and the hot and fresh fries can be hit and miss, but they've never been cold, just less hot and fresh. The young team at this location was really great. Service at this location is 5/5. I love the option to eat out on the patio. Their main dining room is bright, colorful and fun, but it was a bit too chilly the other night we were there and choosing to eat outside worked out well. We love coming to this new Edmond location and Bricktown okc. The service is always friendly and fast. We love the sliders and fries. The prices are good. I've been hearing a lot of good things about Dave's Hot Chicken and was honestly hesitant to try it because of all the hype. Well, it's exactly what I thought...just ok. I mean, not a large selection on the menu and 7 seasonings/heats to select from when you order. I like spicy but was told the hot was too spicy so I went with medium and mild on my sliders. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. The fries are good but we're super salty. I would try it again, a hotter spice, but not just running to try them anytime soon. On our way back from Texas, we stopped in to see what all the rave was about. Here is our experience: Location: 9/10 D.H.C is located in what seemed like a suburb in OK, right off the highway. I thought it was a cool spot with ample parking, and it seems like a newer location. Customer Service 8.5/10 We ate in and it is mainly counter service. They give you a number after you order. Everyone was pretty laid back and personable. They seemed to enjoy working with each other and having a good time. Urban Flair: 9/10 Ambiance and good music is a plus. We enjoyed the open concept with lots of natural lighting and cool wall art. There were also plenty of TVs showing sports and modern decor, which brought a nice vibe. It was pretty dead for a Sunday afternoon, which surprised me. The bathrooms only allow one person at a time, which kinda sucks. Especially if you are road tripping and need to stop. We did have to wait a few to use the facilities. Food: 8/10 We waited about ten minutes before we were called for our food. The chicken - which I got mild, had really great flavor and was very tender. For fast food mac and cheese, it was okay. I would not get it again. Their sauce reminded me of Cane's, but with more flavor. The food was hot, fresh and it had good flavor and appreciated the decent portions, which was the perfect amount. Our meal was $30 which is standard for the two of us to eat out. Overall: 8.6/10 The food was decent and we enjoyed the ambiance! Not a bad little joint for some hot chicken, and get this, it isn't a million bucks and you get a surprising amount of food! I got the mild tenders and honestly mild is a little bit of a stretch, it was not very spicy at all, but it was delicious and perfectly cooked! Their Mac and cheese is also pretty decent, didn't need salt, which is rare. This is a Fast food+ type of place, but on a fast food budget which was a pleasant surprise. The inside was nice and clean and the staff was actually friendly too which is also rare. Just an FYI, one tender is almost enough for a light lunch, this isn't like caines or something, so don't over order! An order of two tenders can definitely be split for lunch in my opinion. Holy hot chicken mama. So my husband is a hot chicken aficionado and we've been to a bunch of places like this and I always leave just not really getting "it" when it comes to the whole hot chicken movement. Eating overly salty, overly spicy fried chicken is just meh to me and I usually end up feeling like crap after eating stuff like this anyway so it's never really worth it to me. Dave has figured out the magic though. I finally ate a spicy fried chicken sandwich and everything just made sense to me about this type of food!! Since I've first eaten here, I've been back more than I care to admit and I'm not mad about it. The chicken is perfectly crispy every dang time and perfectly seasoned every dang time! The bun the sandwich is on is soft, fluffy and a slightly sweet compliment to the salty, spicy chicken--I even love the dang slaw on the sandwich, which is made with kale btw! Hands down, the best spicy fried chicken anything I've ever had. I dined in recently and found out this place started in LA in CA and that's where I'm from SO could also just be my bias that most of the best food I've eaten in my life is in California--either way, eat this chicken, you will not be disappointed. I drove to the drive up to pick up order and was stuck behind a car in front of me for 10,minutes. I got out of my car, walked inside and got my order and asked if they could move car in front of me.
