Pretty good chicken and yummy dipping sauces. I did have a very disturbing visit this last time when it was pretty busy and I went and ordered and placed my purse down at a table with my food order number placard thing. We had not received our food yet, it was just my 4yo son and I and I was holding him the whole time while he was sleeping and I went up to fill our cups. While I was in line to get our drinks an EMPLOYEE grabbed my purse and order number from the table so another couple could sit there. I had no one else to get our drinks for us and I was holding my sleeping son. This was very messed up and almost brought me to tears. I had to go and speak up and ask that I get the table back as there was no where else for me to sit and I didn't think I could carry our food and my son back to where we parked in a nearby parking lot since their small one was full. Very embarrassing and sad experience as I ate my food with tears in my eyes. It's not easy always doing stuff on your own with no help and these employees made it much harder. read more

The food was about what you would expect, nothing was wrong with it, but it would probably not be my first choice next time I want chicken strips. I was so excited to return here, it's been awhile and I was looking forward to a good hot meal. I will say the meal was hot but the size of my tender was not what I expected. I've eaten here before and previously the tenders were large in size, not so much and the Mac n cheese was good but also minimal in my container. I also requested the mango habanero sauce and once I drove off realized I didn't have it. Bummmer! It's disappointing when you crave something and it doesn't meet expectations. Really good for fast food chicken. I got the grilled chicken wrap with buffalo and ranch. I asked for the chicken to be tossed in buffalo but they didn't; however did provide on the side. This place was disgusting. From the time I walked in I got a bad vibe. The worker or possibly manager was sitting there on his phone doing nothing. I was hoping for a hot fresh tasty chicken sandwich. Definitely not what I got. The sandwich was so gross, the chicken was so old. It must've been made hours ago. It was cold dry and no flavor. I asked for the fries with no salt because I know that's the only way to get hot fries anymore, but for some reason they still tasted bad you could taste the frozen. They weren't cooked all the way. Went and sat down and waited both tables I tried to sit at were dirty and there wasn't one customer in the place definitely will never go back to this chain. read more

Then when we came around to get our correct order he denied his mistake and still didnt understand us. Also gave us the wrong order we repeated multiple times. He definitely didnt want to be working but at least do the bare minimum of giving us our right food. Also the food was expensive for being the size for a toddler. However, today I ordered the chicken and waffles at a normal dinner time and after they took my payment I could hear the guy yelling about how it's BS that I'm ordering chicken and waffles at that time and a few other things I could only partially make out. Someone else handed me my food, and once I got home I saw I didn't have any syrup or butter and the waffle was very slightly undercooked (not bad). Idk I get it has to be an inconvenience to make a waffle for someone, but they're not open for breakfast I'm not sure when exactly I'm supposed to order it. I feel like he was more upset with the fact it is on the menu than with my order, but I would've loved to at least get some syrup and not hear the person making my food yell about how much the don't want to make my food. This place is super clean and the bathroom smells fantastic. But you're probably hear to learn about the food. If you think of this place as a quick service restaurant, then it's pretty good. Tonight my tenders order was piping hot as well as the macaroni and cheese. The tenders are real pieces of chicken so they're a nice size and usually quite juice. Plus they don't look like they're stamped out in a machine. I like the variety of dipping sauces because you never know how the mood will strike you. A desire for a simple but quality Sunday dinner led me to Slim Chickens. What could be more logical than chicken for a Sunday dinner? This was my first visit to Slim Chickens so I had no idea what to expect. I found a rather short menu board over a small counter. I ordered the Chicks plate (3 tenders, fries, Texas toast, 1 dipping sauce-gravy & a drink-tea) I received my number and got my drink -self service and sat down in the small but clean, almost sparse dining area. Soon the food arrived with piping hot tenders, fries at medium temperature and 2 small halves of French toast. The fries were seasoned to a slightly peppery/salty degree that kept them from being great. The tenders when cool enough to eat were indeed good with a thin breading and just enough seasoning to allow the chicken to shine in its meaty glory. The gravy did not disappoint with an appropriate creaminess and just enough pepper to keep it from being a flavorless blanket.., just right I thought. The Texas Toast had a very slight garlic flavor I did not expect but was not so strong as to ruin the meal. The price for this modest meal was about 7 and change so not bad but would be overpriced if any higher. The tea was good by restaurant standards and I mixed sweet and unsweetened to get a proper balance. The menu offered much spicier or strongly flavored options than I chose but I chose to try the most basic of the offerings. If they couldn't get the basics right than there is no reason to expect they would get stronger flavors right. With the exception of the fries I say they did just fine. Since they offer alternatives to fries I say don't be afraid to try one of those. Worth another visit if you hanker some good chicken tenders. read more

I was beyond disappointed today when I arrived for lunch to be told that not only is my inferno sauce discontinued, but so is my favorite meal, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap Plate. Slim Chickens is always pricey, but until today, I could at least get the meal that I enjoyed. With both of these items "removed" from their menu, I see no reason to eat there. I have never been a fan of chicken tenders, but in the spinach wrap with lettuce, tomato and ranch, it was very good. I am sure I am not the only customer to order that - or the inferno for that matter. This place is great. Family owned and operated and able to fix an issue, if the need arises. I came in twenty minutes to close and ordered a birthday treat of cheesecake in a mug online and headed out to pick it up. When I arrived, the person at the window told me they were out of what I ordered but he was going to make me a fresh and let me know it would be a few minutes. I appreciate the communication. Tried this place for the first time and it was a huge disappointment. Sauces were good for the tender dip and that's probably about it. Chicken tenders we're dry and not flavored. Wings were raw (see pic). Yes I know, it could be a mistake but an established chicken place should know how long to cook wings right? Wing flavors were okay also, nothing stands out, no crunch to the texture on the skin either. Fries were not crunchy and seems stale. Could be a bad batched but was still served to me. Went to slim chicken to purchase two sandwiches at 930. Was told it takes 10mins to cook chicken and they close at 10. I stated that is fine I'll wait it was 930. I could tell right off he wasn't happy. Once I pulled up to the window a short Hispanic male was at the window with his back turned towards me I honked my horn and yelled to get his attention to tell him never mind but he ignored me. I love this place. I go here almost every week. The food is most of the time hot and fresh. I have one time when it was cold and hard. The food is most out really quickly. Customer service can improve. There is probably 3 good workers. The rest of the workers need improvement. The workers need to have a better attitude. Just grabbing a wrap on the way home today, and I had to wait (about a min, min and a half) to just get my order taken.. Which wasn't a big deal until I pulled up and there was nobody in front of me. Then I had to wait another min or maybe even two to have someone greet me at the window. Service at this location is always slow, but today was the worst with no traffic or reason to as why. Horrible service. Horrible wait. Mediocre food. First, the staff was unbelievably rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. I went inside as I had never been before and didn't want to sit in the drive-thru while I checked the menu and decided what I would have. The apparent manager stood at the counter tapping cups waiting for me to order until he finally walked away to gossip with the girls while I checked out the menu. While ordering my friend asked for her sauce on the wife. The manager started saying she could not do this, so she said that's fine. After she'd given up he started explaining the system wouldn't allow him to - none of this explains why the sauce could not go into a little container, perhaps the same ones the ranch came in? Truly horrid service to just say, "no" to a reasonable and frankly easily accommodated request. After I ordered I waited over 20 minutes for my food. Nothing about the good was impressive enough to deserve such a wait. The only flavor the chicken has is from the sauces which are available without any preparation. In fact every other fried chicken fast food joint is as good if not better at a 1/4 to 1/10 the wait. While waiting, only one of the four college kids was even attempting to work. The manager flirted and made inappropriate comments to one of the young ladies. Eventually, near the end of the long wait, an argument ensued as to what we had even ordered, telling me (correctly) that they would mess up the order (they did) and the restaurant would be a failure (it was). The food was mediocre at best. The sauces came from Walmart. The "toast" was soggy and worthless, and the chicken could have come from any other joint. The first time I went there a year and a half ago, they had a set of coupons in a coupon fundraiser book... We were excited to try a new place out using a coupon... Less to lose if its not good. We show the cashier the coupon and they refused to accept and honor the coupon claiming it was a mistake or something like that. Sounds like their problem... Shouldn't have printed a coupon then! I think I recall them giving us a free drink but we were beyond unimpressed at that point that it didn't make up for it. My husband has refused to go back since, but last night I was on my own so I decided to give it another shot... Waited in the drive through for about 20 minutes... They weren't rude but they certainly were not going to apologize for the wait. The food was OK last night.. Strips were good, a little on the small side. Fries weren't bad...
