I've always wanted to try Dave's hot chicken and I finally got the chance and was so excited! My brother and I came here during the day on 4th of July and the place was empty. We were greeted immediately upon entering. You can either order with staff at the front desk or you can order yourself at a kiosk. Since my brother and I have both never been we decided to order on the kiosk so we could take our time looking everything over. We ordered a little of everything and the food was ready super quick. We even ordered a slushy and had the worker keep it in the fridge so it didn't melt while waiting for the food to be made. We took our food to go. Everything was 10/10! We tried the mozzarella sticks, mini chicken sandwiches, cheese fries, loaded cheese fries, regular chicken sandwich, etc. everything was perfect! The place was also kept very clean and nice. I've been to 2 other Dave locations and both got 5 stars. This location missed... a lot. I will start by saying the quality of food is just as good as the other locations... it's everything else that lost the stars. We ordered 4 items and they got 3 of those wrong. And the 4th one I actually corrected at the register... so they would have gotten all 4 wrong. As I write this I realize they did get all 4 wrong because the one thing I thought they got right (the blue raspberry slushie) they actually forgot to even give to us... geez. So it's actually all 4 items. The other items the got wrong: they forgot the cheese on the cheese fries, they gave us a chicken sandwich instead of just a side tender, and one of the sandwiches were wrong. First time trying out Dave's Hot Chicken. It captures your attention with their recognizable signage and cool interior paintings customized for Highlands Ranch. I was afraid this would be another overpriced "fast casual" chicken sandwich place. Fortunately, we were able to order a combo that came with two sliders and fries for a reasonable price (about $17?). It was also a chance to try it out without committing to two full meals. The sliders were big, spiced, chicken tenders. Don't be fooled by the name slider! We chickened out and got the mild spice level. It was a true blend of spices and flavor. Not spicy in heat whatsoever, so anyone sensitive to spice should give it a shot. But I think that I could handle medium, but I'm so afraid to go beyond that for sure. read more

I've seen Dave's Hot Chicken in the Springs and decided to check it out when we were heading back home. I didn't know what to expect, I thought it was just another chicken place. We ordered their hot box sliders and hot box Dave's bites. It was actually a lot for our family of five. It tasted great, especially with their sauce. I giving my rating on the heat of the chicken. This week I have hit up two different hot chicken places that both required waivers to be signed and I wanted the hottest of the hot. I got the reaper sandwich with fries. I ain't gonna lie this chicken was damn hot. It hit hard and goes deep but like most good things it didn't last more than 5 minute. If you really like it hot then you need to give it a shot. To add a little more info. The bun was really good. I would have liked a little more slaw on there. We came here for lunch because it was close and we had never tried it. I can say I will not be back as there are plenty of other chicken places that are astronomically better than here. I had gotten the so called "wings" and they were not good. These were not wings but more like mini chicken nuggets from Chick Fil A. My husbands little brother got 2 chicken fingers and those two pieces had like double the chicken vs. what was in my "wings". The buffalo sauce they use too was really blah to my standards and was not good. Inside is nice and clean and they have seating outside too which was nice but the prices here are ridiculous. My boys recently went here without me, so of course it was the BEST hot chicken place ever! I insisted they take me so we went on a Sunday afternoon. I got a mild slider and tender meal and my son got a chicken tender meal with no spice. Hubby is brave so he got medium. Mine had really good flavoring, lots of taste but no heat. I had light and he had medium and both were so bitter they made us nauseous. In my opinion it tasted heavy in cumin. This is consistently the slowest "fast food" places I have ever been to. What do I mean by slow? We have been here 5 or 6 times since they have opened and never gotten our order in under 10 minutes. We have gotten to the point of ordering online for pickup and ariive 5 minutes after the order is supposed to be ready and still have to wait for the order. That would be understandable if it was packed but this is always after 8pm with maybe 1 or 2 other people in the store. This evening we were the only order and there were 3 or 4 employees. We arrived 15 minutes after placing online order and still were told it would be 5-10 minutes before it was ready. Food is okay, but kills me that it takes 20 minutes to do an order. Dave's Hot Chicken is new in Highlands Ranch within the past few weeks. We decided to give it a try; a rather poor idea. Service was mixed. We were called to the counter when our food was not even close to ready. The manager (owner?) took care of us very well after that mix-up; one star on the mix-up, five stars on the recovery. Ambiance is typical 21st century fast food minimalist. Nothing special. No star rating here, it's just typical. Dave's serves tenders and "sliders" only. No bone-in chicken, which is increasingly hard to find in any contemporary restaurant. Overall, the chicken menu seems extremely limited. Three stars there. The tenders were huge. The "slider" was the size of a smallish basic fast food chicken sandwich. Kale slaw as a topping on the slider? I'm not sure. Medium hotness tenders were a salt bomb; I did not like the taste at all. Zero stars on tenders. The slider was OK, but still salty. Three stars on the slider. Fries were very good and fresh, but again, doused in salt. A little less salt would have been nice. Three stars on the fries. $29+ with a tip demand on the credit card machine. "No tip" was not an option without navigating the credit card machine buttons. We had a #1 and a #3 plus one drink. It seems individual sliders and tenders are not an option if you do not order a combo (Please correct me if I'm wrong). $29 and change, wow. It was at best a $17 meal. We won't be going back.
