A strip mall restaurant next door to a Middle Eastern market and an El Salvadoran restaurant. Unique Indian Cuisine is spacious and clean. They have very soothing spa music playing (a little odd, but also charming). You can see that the owners probably did their own repairs and upgrades. We ordered cocktails and saw that they used top shelf alcohol. The food was very flavorful. Not the Indian flavors that I'm used to, but delicious. The tandoori chicken pieces were massive and they did not skimp on the sides of rice like other Indian restaurants. The garlic naan was paper thin like a roti and infused with so much garlic! Our server was very sweet and attentive. She carefully made both our cocktails and when we complimented her, she was humbled and honored. Excellent Indian Restaurant, right on Colorado Blvd located in the midst of many Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurants, parking is tight but manageable. Been here a couple of times in the past and always enjoyed the meal and experience. For some reason, I thought I left a review prior to tonite but it could not be found. We enjoyed three types of curries, two veggie and one Chicken Masala, two types of naan including garlic naan, samosa, rice and rice pudding. We ordered number four hot and it was perfect for us. The taste spectrum was totally right on across the board, rich and flavorful, the dinner was quiet, only three other tables occupied and the service was impeccable! We went for lunch and ordered channa masala and vegetable curry. The sauces tasted pretty much the same, and both were watery and thin. Nothing really special about either dish, plus the vegetables were overcooked and soggy in the curry. This would be a one or two star review based on those dishes, but we saw (and smelled) the tandoor chicken and chicken wings go out, and they both smelled and looked amazing, so obviously they do chicken well. We eat here at at least once a month. The food is always terrific. Madan the owner is a hard worker. Today we were here again and had the tandoori chicken. Rarely have I ever had chicken taste this good! It comes out sizzling on top of a plate of onions and peppers. Chai is invariably delicious. If I could change one thing, it would be the parking lot. We've been here twice now, and I've been very happy with our experience both times! It looks inconspicuous from the outside; it's in a little strip mall with a tough, tight parking lot right off Colorado Blvd. Don't let this deter you, just find a spot and head in! It's got a nice little dining area, and we've never had to wait to be seated. The service staff is very friendly, and you can tell they're passionate about their food and will make sure you're happy with your meal. Personally, I've only had good things to say! We went in for lunch on a Saturday. It was quiet and we had our choice of seats. We know our order to please our party of four. They didn't have Roganjosh on the menu, but the kitchen whipped up something similar. We also ordered butter chicken, saag paneer, two orders of naan and three mango lassis. One of the best meals we've had in Denver. This is a must-try, and the menu is perfect for people who are new to the cuisine. We can't believe the line wasn't out the door. We had a great experience at Unique Indian Cuisine. The food was so yummy and flavorful. While the menu felt sparse, it had all the major needs and was reasonably priced. The cheesy naan was also delicious, and I took some home for the next day and was even better slightly warmed up! The whole restaurant smelled like the wonderful food too. The waiter didn't come check on us much, but he was always around which was nice to see. My only complaint about the place was the parking- it's very tight and we were almost blocked in our truck by other large cars surrounding us. All in all, we had a good time though. read more

I love it when Yelp comes through for me. It doesn't happen as often as I think it should, as we all have different tastes and preferences, but this was by far the best food experience I had during my short stay in Denver as it exceeded expectations and all the great reviews. Probably the best Saag Paneer I have ever had to date. The best Indian cuisine I've ever had was in England, about 15 years ago. I love Indian food and I thought I knew how to judge what was good or not, but after experiencing the Indian cuisine in England - wow - I realized that I didn't know jack squat when it came to really good Indian cuisine. So since that trip I have compared all of my Indian food experiences to that trip, and this place has come the closest to matching their quality and taste. I read the reviews - everyone loves the Saag Paneer, Tikka Masala, and the Butter Chicken too. I arrived there and was the first customer to be served. Very clean and unassuming place. Sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with Resham. He confirmed those 3 dishes are just a few of the great dishes there. I started with the Saag Paneer, then thought why not get the Chicken Tikka along w/ some Garlic Naan. I mean I can take leftovers back to the hotel with me. Medium Spicy (3 out of 5). Well the Saag came out and - wow - I noticed how green and colorful and clear the dish looked. The taste? Phenomenal! I can't explain it - but it was the best Saag Paneer I've ever had. Just tasted so clean and fresh, didn't have that strong overpowering spinach flavor that usually takes over, it was just really smooth and creamy. The Chicken Tikka was superb! I will tell you that medium spicy is hot enough for those who have somewhat of a tolerance level for spices. Loved the Garlic Naan too! I knew I would be leaving here tomorrow, so why the hell not and order the Butter Chicken? I mean - the first 2 dishes here were so darn good that tells me the Butter Chicken will also be great, and I need to try it. When a place has really good stuff, it incentivizes me to spend more there because I know it will be great. And sure enough - the Butter Chicken was also superb. I did get spicy level 4 out of 5 and that is quite hot I tell ya, but hell I didn't care. I had plenty of leftovers to take home with me as I sampled a few bites of each dish. The service here was impeccable. Very friendly, courteous, and professional, Resham was a class act and very helpful. The quality of the food here was phenomenal. They were bursting with flavor and spices. It really lived up to all of the hype and expectations, some of the best Nepalese Cuisine I've ever had - and nothing in Austin comes close. Another great experience! It took us way too long to come back but we enjoyed it so much. Tonight we got onion rings, butter chicken level 1 for our toddler, lamb vindaloo level 4, tandoori shrimp level 3 and garlic naan. The service was on top of it too. The level 4 was definitely extra spicy but helped our congestion! Ha! We will stick to level 3 next time. The tandoori shrimp was exceptional and a must! It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Being a huge lover of Indian food, I was excited to try a restaurant that was in Denver. My in-laws live a few minutes away which made it very convenient. I ordered chicken tikka masala with garlic and cheese naan to go. I picked it up about 40 minutes after I ordered the food and the food was still very hot. I loved the garlic and cheese naan. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken tikka masala was good but lacked just a little bit of flavor. I've had better in Texas but it was still good. The food is very good, not terribly expensive, and the service is prompt and kind. I ordered lamb vindaloo and chana saag. The lamb was delicious - tender and spiced perfectly to my taste (I asked for medium spicy). I made the mistake of thinking the chana saag was vegan (dairy-free), but it seems to be made with a heavy cream sauce. And even though I don't generally eat much dairy, the dish was so tasty that I ate more of it than I should have. I'll go back another time to try other things on the menu. The Shahi Paneer at this place is one of the three most delicious things I have eaten in my 6 years living in Denver. I have ordered this 5-6 times now, and every time it is incredible. All of the dishes have been excellent, but this one dish is worth coming back for. The best way to describe it is "luxurious" -- the sauce has this silky, creamy mouthfeel with such outstanding, rounded, decadent flavors. Can't get enough. Worth the drive (and the slightly rough neighborhood -- that's how you know it's good) for this spectacular dish. P.S. - the vegan version of this dish -- Shahi Tofu -- is also really good. I will say the host and service were professional and great. If I were to solely base my experience off of service it would be a 5 star. In terms of the food, it is passable. We togo'd the food, so maybe this could have affected the experience. We ordered the saag paneer and chicken Tikka Masala. Both dishes were under seasoned. More specifically, the chicken was a little on the dryer end and bland. Saag was very creamy, but if it was a little bit more seasoned, I would share that it definitely has the potential to be a great dish. I honestly don't even know where to start-- First off, I placed a pick up order and showed up immediately after placing it to wait for it to be ready cause I hate when my food gets cold. Expected wait time online was 20 minutes and it was ready in about 10 minutes, if that. Upon walking inside I was greeted and offered a seat while I wait. The owner was very interactive and asked me what I ordered and If I had been to his restaurant before.. I explained we had just moved here a few months ago and this was actually our first indian restaurant in Colorado. He gave me a hot cup of thai tea on the house while I waited, which was so kind of him and it was the best thai tea I think i've ever had. My wife came in to wait with me and he chatted it up with both of us. He said we should come dine- in sometime and we explained we generally would but our dog was in the car and he said we could bring him in next time with us! How cool.The ambiance was amazing and we didn't even dine in!.. We were so excited to try our food when we got home we forgot to even take a picture. Wifey ordered the butter chicken, it was honestly the best butter chicken we have ever had. Most butter chicken is way too tomatoey, I almost immediately get heartburn.. this was very creamy. I ordered the chicken saag and it was delicious, not overly spinach tasting either. We shared the vegetable samosas and they were top tier. Of course we got some garlic cheese naan and it was delicious. The serving size of these dishes were PLENTIFUL, definitely enough for 2 meals per dish. Randomly stumbled upon this spot as I was craving something spicy! Definitely got exactly what I wanted with my spicy level 4 chicken masala and it was so very delicious! It was also my first time trying saag and I enjoyed that too! The owner was our server and he was super friendly. First, have a separate fully vegan menu. Just ask your server. A few vegan by default items are on the main menu, but the second one is a goldmine. Secondly, Nepali Momo, and noodles. Third, yummy. Party was me, a plant-based but laid back about dairy diner. (If it's real food, not overly processed ... looking at you, Impossible Burger... I'll accept dairy) Ordered a 3 on their spice level (1-5). Channa saag and roti. Dairy chai. Spicing was complex and heat came through some, difficult with creamy dishes. Fresh, very tasty, and a portion that is a lot for one. But it's so good, I won't complain of leftovers. Attentive service even with many to go orders rolling in. The dining room is definitely strip mall hole in the wall, and the parking lot is one way. Plan on neighborhood parking and a short walk, if your vehicle is large. Less than 10 tables. I just tried this place for lunch and really enjoyed it. The guy who brought the food was very friendly and they seemed grateful for my business. I tried the lentil soup and had them make a veggie tikka masala dish for me. They make the food fresh daily vs the weekly batch approach of food some other places do (corner cutting). The lentil soup is amazing and the veggie tikka masala was tasty too. My only suggestions are to add a "Paneer Tikka Masala" and "Veggie Tikka Masala" to the menu. The texture went very well with the seasonings in the masala. Only issue was with the chicken, it was a little dry and difficult to chew. I usually don't write reviews based on a single visit. This place however did deliver and is worth experiencing in my opinion. On the day I visited the food & service were above the norm we tolerate today. Will do a second visit and update the review if this rating differs. This sounds simple but I rate most Indian restaurants based on the mango lassi, I know silly! A lassi is simple to make and low cost and if done right as in this case unreal. If the effort was made in the lassi then this should carry over to the food is my thinking. Shared a lamb biryani and a chicken makhani, both above average in the amount of food. As stated in the other reviews both meals were very good, and well above the norm for dining out. So an excellent experience was had and I will eat here again in the coming weeks.
