Starting this review by saying that we literally compare every other hot chicken place to Dave's. This is hands down our favorite place for hot chicken sandwiches. They have a ton of spice level options, we love that they are sliders as opposed to giant sandwiches, the flavor is always amazing, the food is fresh, and the sauce is by far the best one we have tried (and they don't charge you for extra). The fries could use a little more seasoning, and it isn't our favorite Mac and cheese, but still a solid 7/10 on both of those. We haven't had a shake there but people seem to love those too. The service is always great, the staff is friendly and the food always comes out quickly, hot and fresh. The restaurant has a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice- the only downside to this location is parking. Overall, a 10/10, and we have yet to find another place we like better. read more

The chicken was really tasty and fresh. Not dry but nice and juicy. Cooked very well We took it to go and ate in the truck on the way home. We put in an order online for a hotbox, which is supposed to include pickles and sauces. We also added cheese (which we thought meant a cheese dip on the side). We ordered half lite mild, half extra hot. I picked up the order, and granted i should have checked and I usually do, but this time i was in a rush. It said the order would be ready at 6:57pm, i was there at 7pm and still had to wait 20 min. Got home, no sauces, no pickles, a slice of cheese on each piece of chicken, and the chicken strips were not labeled to distinguish extra hot from lite mild. We tried Dave #1 with fries, had 1 side of the tenders not spicy and the other hot spicy. Both were delicious and crispy. The hot spice level was perfect. It had a kick but not too much to burn your mouth. The fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection too. And i love the sauce that it came with!! Good job Dave. So far my family and I have only been here a few times since they opened. Its nice to have a chicken spot that serves up the spicy chicken. The chicken, fry's and coleslaw have been great every time we have came here. The pickles are a great palette cleanser. The reaper chicken is pretty good. I don't know if it's hot enough to make someone sign a waver. It will definitely clear up your sinuses! I enjoy spicy food so bring on that waver! I like to try new food places out with my family so i am glad to have this place so close to home. It's a very nice location. I haven't actually dined inside before. The to go food containers are just right if you want to enjoy the food in your car :) The parking lot is a bit of a joke but it is what it is. The service has always been decent. I've been very happy with the food since I've been patronizing Dave's. The food's always hot and fresh, especially the fresh hot fries. It's been very good, and the order accuracy has been on point every time. It took a long time for me to convince my wife to try it, but she finally did and she's into it. My only critique on the food is the portion size of the fries is a little lacking, at least for the combo meals that I've noticed. This would be five stars except for the fact that I spent $13 last night on shakes and was very unsatisfied. My wife read online that the shakes were made with real ice cream. That's blatantly false. It was no different than what they serve at Jack in the Box, and we would never have tried them if we knew that. Moreover, it was liquidy and almost like eating whipped cream. Delicious chicken bread coating! Five stars for children sliders. This is a newer restaurant to this location so the line is super long as to be expected. All worthy restaurant chains have huge lines. Like In N Out, Chick Fil A and Raising Cains. The price is average. Restaurant was clean enough considering the crowds and busy traffic through the restaurant. Staff seems young, friendly and polite. I think it's great to give our youth a chance. I'll return again! Okay I love dave's, they have an amazing location at the Ontario Mills. This location however, the cashiers are nice and very helpful. Unfortunately this is probably the worst dave's to come to if you are hungry. They kitchen employees move at the absolute slowest, visually. There is no sense of urgency for a full dinning room. I overhear everyone in this dinning room constantly complaining about the wait and how they are still waiting for food. I've seen some people wait 30 minutes for only a dave's #1. This is possibly the slowest dave's i have ever been to. If you have time on your hands, come here, but if not and you're hungry, i suggest going somewhere else other than here. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken is not for me. They did many things very very well. The restaurant itself was open, very clean, and included decorations and art that were pleasing and interesting. The food is made with very good quality ingredients that were cooked to near perfection. The chicken was large and served crispy and juicy and flaked away exactly how I would want it to. The french fries were crinkle cut with a nice crispy crunch to the outside and a good smooth potato inside. All this was great and made me excited to take my first bite. My first bite was where it all fell apart for me. The perfectly crispy juicy chicken was seasoned with a lot of salt and chili powder. Unfortunately, I really dislike the taste of chili powder. The spiciness of it was pretty high for me; someone who tends to like mild/medium spice. The mild spice was just about right and the medium was a bit too spicy and was even stronger in the chili flavor. So, I moved on to the fries. They looked amazing and I was excited to get crinkle cut fries. As satisfying as it was to bite into those perfectly cooked fries; it was all ruined with the same chili seasoning that they put on their chicken. I was left debating whether to finish my meal or take it back; and that's when I realized that Dave's Hot Chicken wouldn't be able to make it right for me. They only have one thing they sell and that one thing is always covered in their "special seasoning". So, anything they would replace it with, would just be more of what I didn't want. I was able to get my fill despite not enjoying it. There is more than enough food in there and I would've been just fine with a single slider and fries; if only they had a seasoning option that didn't include their chili flavored offering. I know they just opened and will work things out, buuuuut as an owner of a business that has a strong following, you should lease a larger space with more parking. That means more customers you can squeeze in! Parking is rough since it's with two other popular businesses, Starbucks and Chronic Taco. Line is usually out the door. Hardly anyone dining in since all the seats are taken for people waiting. One register open and 6 people in the kitchen. When we went line was still contained inside but took 45 min to order and get food in hand. If the line is out the door I would estimate 90 minutes. The manager or lead you had working the front on the microphone this Monday at 6pm is your best employee along with the cashier. Both had great attitudes and hard working women. The 6 people behind the counter are very slow and do a lot of talking. 3 stars for the amazing food and the front counter staff. I finally tried this with my cousin. We ordered a #1 (2 tenders) and #3 (1 slider and 1 tender), both medium spicy. I thought that the slider would include a side of kale slaw, but the description meant that it would be placed in the slider. The portion in the slider was pretty sad, barely anything. It would be better if you could substitute the fries in the combo for another side, even if there was an additional cost. The special sauce is good because it compliments the heat and fries. Everything is separate, which makes the meal pricey because chicken at the stores is pretty cheap. There is seating inside and outside and there's always an influx of people coming in. I loveeeee Nashville hot chicken. I think this place does a very good job with their seasoning. I do wish it was still on Doordash without a super high delivery fee, but oh well. I'm a big fan of spicy food but I found that medium tastes the best here. The higher levels over do it just a tad and drown out the rest of the flavors but if that's your thing do you. Trust me when I say putting honey and the Dave's sauce on top is SO good. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend staying at the Menifee location for dine in eating due to their cleanliness. My family and I were visiting the area and noticed this restaurant had just opened. All I can say about this new chicken spot is, "The hype is REAL"! I rate this new spot 9/10. Food - The chicken sandwiches are SO good. My husband and I ordered the "Lite Mild". We didn't want to go to hot the first time here so we started at the lowest heat possible. The Lite Mild had really good flavor. We both really enjoyed our meal. We both ordered the #2 and added the cheese for $.50! I really wish they had kids meal options on their menu. I am very bummed that you have to order everything separate for the kids which adds the bill up! Our whole meal was $40. Service - Service was great! They just opened so all the employees were on their A game. No complaints here. The wait/parking - We came on a Wednesday afternoon and there was a little wait but not to bad!
