Still my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in CA! They are consistent with their food and portions. The red hummus and fresh pita is a must! The beef steak kabob is so flavorful as always. When I arrived they had delicious Baba Ganoush & pita bread at the table. This is a classy, beautiful restaurant. Since we had returned from Texas and had overindulged on delicious BBQ & Tex Mex, I wanted to have a vegetarian meal. So, I chose the Mixed Vegetable Stew served over aromatic Basmati rice. What a superb choice. The flavor was above board with the perfect mix of exotic spices. I savored every bite. Portions were generous so I was able to take some of my stew home. I was really unimpressed with the falafel lover meal that only came with 4 falafels on the plate and some rice lol The rice was wet with maybe yogurt? I was not a fan of that. The wet rice was gross. I'm not from Murrieta, but from what I've seen, the plaza is easy to park in and there are plenty of spaces. The concern is walk ins are usually not available. From what I've heard from my in laws, they usually wait for hours if they are doing a walk in. So, they've develop the habit of calling in to the restaurant to make a reservation. That way, they've develop can secure a table. The reservations last up until 9 pm since they close at 12 pm. We were seated fairly quickly, with such comfy chairs. The server was quick to assist us and she was very sweet. We were given filtered water through a glass bottle. We started our meal with an appetizer: pita bites. It wasn't what we were expecting, but boy, was it tasty! My mother-in-law ordered their beef shawarma, my father-in-law got their lamb shawarma, and my fiancé got Chef's Special Shawarma. Meanwhile, I ordered their lamb shawarma. We instantly regretted ordering an appetizer because their shawarma plates were HUGE. The meat was placed on a huge pita with basmati rice and a side salad. Needless to say, I was stuffed and couldn't make it towards the halfway point. The basmati rice was also fantastic alongside their garlic sauce (which was very strong) but super creamy. The flavor profile of the dish was incredible overall. We left feeling happy, full, and content with it all. The pricing was very reasonable with the portion size and amazing service. Amazing!!! This place is a 10/10!!! I can't believe we just discovered this restaurant. From the service, food and ambiance, everything was spectacular. Came in on a Saturday evening around 6:30pm. This place gets super busy for dinner - we came around 5:30 and got ahead of several large parties that almost booked out the whole restaurant. We took that as a good sign, and we weren't wrong! We got a mixed rice dish with chicken gyro and it was super flavorful - creamy, smoky, and balanced well with some fresh vegetables. We also ordered the Mediterranean spaghetti and it was like nothing we've ever had. It's definitely not your traditional Italian pasta - the flavors were distinctly Mediterranean. I found out about Kan Zaman from a 1 star review of neighbor down the street, called Baba Ali, across from Lins Grand Buffet. Reviewer crtisized Baba because they had so little meat for so high a price $30 and that "bigger portions for cheaper prices can be found at Kam Zaman." So here I am. I love lamb and the moussaka lamb shank was recommended to me by my server Alejandra. $23 sounded reasonable to me. Besides the entry in the picture she gave me a basket filled with pita bread and brought me garlic butter and chopped Olive tapenade. I spread that inside the pita with the garlic butter and it was so delicious. I am taking the leftover pieces to put in my toaster oven and heat to crispy and spread the garlic spread and olive tapenade at home yum. I do not live in this area I come from San Diego and Scottsdale arizona. But I am selling my short-term vacation rental in Temecula Wine Country and I don't have any food there because it's not my home. So I found this restaurant through the bubba review. Consistency, excellence, efficiency and they show that they love what they do where it translates into everything from their service to their food. Very tasty Mediterranean/middle eastern fare in a great location. It was conveniently located in the plaza across the way from the Murrieta Hot Springs. While I was at the springs, I noticed a food truck rodeo that almost deterred me from visiting Kan Zaman, but I was not dissuaded. The restaurant is rather small, but has a very elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. The wait staff were very polite and efficient. I ordered the Tzatziki to start. It came with 2 pita which were very hot and fresh. They looked homemade, though I can't say for sure. But I have never seen pita in the shape they came before. A salad came with my order of Beef Kofta Kabob, and I really enjoyed the dressing with the added olives that I topped it with (from the pita basket). The Beef Kofta was delicious. I love that warm spiciness that feels like a grandmother hugging you. It's hard to explain - but the mix of spices were superb. The tzatziki was good too, but not anything particularly special. I was home bound today and craved for curry when this restaurant popped up on a "restaurant that offers delivery" search and I am glad I placed an order with them! I had their green curry that was tasty and filled with generous amounts of chicken, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and steamed rice! It was awesome!! For dessert, I enjoyed their mango sticky rice. I ordered 2 kabob plates - beef kafta and chicken shish kabobs, however, they lacked a bit of flavor and juiciness to it. Both kabobs were quite dry and possibly overcooked. Additionally, the rice-to-meat ratio, which I understand is standard to have a lot of rice here, was way too much considering the amount of protein you're getting. It could be a misproportioned dish since it was take-out, but regardless, there wasn't a lot of protein. The roasted tomato might have been my favorite part of the dish, but I wish it weren't the case since it was just a side for the dish.
