    Specials for the day
    Dave Q.

We haven't been to Dave's in a while. I was not disappointed in the two specials I got tonight. They have a nice, somewhat small, local brews on tap. Always nice to see local breweries highlighted here. I got the Sashimi special and the Roll special along with edamame. Take a look at the photo for details on the two specials I got. Some of the best I've had... ever! So flavorful and the presentation was fantastic also. The wait staff is so friendly and welcoming, they answer any questions a guest may have and are nicely attentive. I sat indoor however they have both indoors and outdoors seating. The inside seating is active, lots of customers and staff. It is a bit on the noisy side. Like I said, the two entries I got were excellent!

It was really good I finished my plate three different rolls

Food always good For Service I want to thank thank thank Matthew you are awesome please don't loose your smile Ambience ??? ? Of course Excellent I don't know who the boss or owner is, but if you're going to hire someone, the staff hire should be like him!!! ( Matthew you are excellent) Hire someone who is friendly, polite, kind, understanding, helpful when talking to customers, and not racist.

I know about Dave's reputation and yet still keep coming back because they're consistent and have great sushi! Big menu, fun atmosphere (a little loud if sensitive to that), and quick service.

All the food was delish. We also had calamari as an appetizer. The service was great too!

I love this place. For starters the insides of it are absolutely beautiful with pretty tables and a really nice atmosphere. Their music isn't too loud but still audible. The staff are super nice and take their time with you if you're struggling to pick something. And the FOOD..is so good! If I had to recommend one item on the menu it would be ube mochi. Their rolls are amazing as-well, and I may have a pretty basic choice but their California Rolls are to die for! Over all, it's a great restaurant and I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who is in Bozeman!

Nice location in downtown Bozeman. A convenient walk from the Kimpton Armory hotel. This place has a good sized lunch crowd. It was just me so I was seated right away at the sushi bar. The server was friendly and fairly attentive. I ordered the mixed greens salad and the Grave Danger roll. The salad was larger than I expected, but good (you definitely need to cut up this salad otherwise it is somewhat unwieldy when trying to stuff it in your mouth!) . The sesame-ginger dressing they use is very tasty. The Grave Danger roll was good and comes with 10 pieces. The spicy tuna tasted fresh and the roll had a good flavor. Hard to get out of here cheaply, but a good lunch experience. They need a lunch combo. Bozeman had a few sushi options. This one appears to be the only one that is consistently open for lunch.

Staying in Bozeman overnight and saw the billboard for Dave's Sushi and remembered we had been there before. I was excited to go back. I decided to call in the order and pick it up to take back to the hotel. Good thing because the place was PACKED - looks like they've even expanded since the last time we were here. I ordered the "Dirty Bird" roll; fried chicken, avocado and cucumber with jalapeño, bourbon-sriracha sauce and green onions. I also ordered a simple smoked salmon roll. The packaging looked simple enough, but the rolls looked a bit smaller than I remembered. An 8-piece and a 10-piece roll fitting in an 8x8" box? Oh well, they were both still very good. The fried chicken pieces were crispy and tasty. Prices are a somewhat reasonable. I figure a good sushi place in the middle of Montana deserves to charge a little more than you'd find in a more populated area. All good. I would come back next time I roll through.

Last time I ate here was 2019! Good news it's still good and better news is they expanded so less of a wait during prime times! Food and service are amazing and you might think sushi in Montana is weird but trust me when I tell you this will be a highlight of your time in Bozeman! Thanks Dave's! Be back soon!

I was so happy to get the same thing as I did last night Only to end up without the ends of the shrimp Tempura Shrimp Roll? What happened

It's good but for the price I wish I could have got the ends of the shrimp like I have in the past

While on vacation we were craving sushi and this was the first place that popped up and we definitely choose well. The place is small but eccentric. We ordered a couple of different rolls which came out pretty quickly and every single roll was delicious. The staff were really nice and recommended a few other places we should try while in Bozeman.

I loved the ambience and the atmosphere my family even decided to get a reservation. When i pronounced I had a shellfish allergy I was told that everything had been cross contaminated and I couldn't eat there. I almost had to leave my family and uber home since the majority of my family can eat shellfish. I am a cook but I am no sushi chef I have done sushi while private cheffing. I do believe that there are certain steps you can take to prevent cross contamination and being able to store things properly in order to prevent contamination. I understand that when at sushi restaurants there's no helping fryers which is completely understandable. There is also a point I'd like to make how there should be some kind of sign outside or when making a reservation to pronounce on their end that they can't accommodate. At the end of the day I'm disappointed, I almost chose to leave my family, and we all ended up walking out without ordering since they can't accommodate to my allergy. I hope they take steps in the future to prevent cross contamination or pronounce they cannot accommodate to certain allergies before making a reservation.

Online reservations were limited, however there seemed to be plenty of tables when we walked in for dinner. The restaurant feels slightly upscale, but casual enough for a comfortable atmosphere. Price is as expected for sushi. There were several interesting combinations that hit the right spot. Ziggy Stardust was my personal favorite, delicious in both flavor and texture. Strawberry Fields was another unique combination that pleasantly surprised us. We also ordered a Salmon Poke, Hammer Roll, and Big Sky Roll - all were pretty good. They did charge us an extra $1 when we asked for a side of spicy mayo and will charge a 2.5% fee for credit cards. All in all this is a pretty good spot and we had a great time!

No I don't recommend this restaurant!…read more I have tried it twice and both time have been miserably disappointed in the service. The price is always surprisingly expensive and generally when the total comes inevitably wrong. Often something we didn't order is added and you have to hassle getting removed from your ticket. The ambiance is lively and fun. However most the staff are standing around at the front in the bar gossiping. It's really annoying to hear them gossiping about guests! Bad Bad Bad manners! They talk too much and don't serve food in a timely manner. To wait an hour and a half is ridiculous. In general, the food preparation is ok. Fresh, but ok. My suggestion would be to dress up the presentation more than just putting it on the plate - it's an art that makes good Sushi special, and this doesn't do it for me! While it's decent, for Montana, it's not west coast Sushi and service staff needs an overhaul. Less gossip, better staff service with attention to the customers order, more timely service, more accurate orders.

It's okay for being the only easily accesible poke shop in town…read more I mean, we keep coming back so it's obviously not terrible but it's also extremely inconsistent. I actually held off on writing this review until our after our fourth visit to make a fair judgement. Yo Poke is a good option if you're looking for a quick and easy meal. The quality of the fish is on the mid-level of good and the ingredients are typically fresh. As for the store itself, it's kept very clean and there are a several tables and chairs if you choose to sit and eat. We've visited on a few occasions now and the staff has been friendly every single time. The biggest problem lies in consistency. On two out of four visits, we received poke bowls that were so sad looking with 6 or 7 little cubes of fish. On the other two visits, we were served a portion that looks like most other restaurants offer. (I've been BYO poke restaurants in several states). At this point, we watch the person building our bowls getting a tiny half scoop of protein, usually fish, or a full one. It's very interesting to me how the servings can come out so different even though they literally use the same scooper...just fill that tiny little thing up and let's call it a day. To be honest, a full scoop versus a half scoop usually determines a generous tip or a "this is just to be nice" one. The food itself is usually pretty tasty, no complaints on that front. Here is one of my favorite BYO combos: + Sushi Rice + Proteins: Tuna & Salmon + Mix-ins: White & Green Onions. + Sauces: Shoyu & Wasabi Mayo. + Sides: Edamame, Surimi Salad, Ginger & Avocado + Toppings: Sesame Oil, Tempura Flakes & Furikake If you try it, let me know what you think! Oh, one more thing! Don't try to order from GrubHub. I've tried to order delivery 3 times and my order was delayed by more than 2 hours every single time before it got canceled!

Yo Poke looks like a number of poke establishments--a nice counter that also serves as a make-table…read morefor the crew, a clear menu on the wall with items assorted by when you need to share them, and a few tables (high and low) for sitting and eating though it looks like most customers take out their food. The look is nothing special, but it does seem to be appropriate for this kind of restaurant. The food was remarkably medium. I would have liked to see some suggested poke bowls on the menu rather than leaving my bowl to my suggestions. The fish seemed pretty fresh, and the vegetables were crisp. While it wasn't bad, it didn't seem to rise to "good" either. I also had the miso soup, which was lukewarm and came from a machine (it looked like the hot chocolate machines that were once ubiquitous). It had no particular taste and featured lumps of tofu and a garnish of wakame. The soup wasn't even medium, and having it served in disposable bowls with plastic spoons made it less apealing. At $26, this meal wasn't worth it. Of course, the management has the payment device throwing on tip options so that you can tip a staff that looks inconvenienced by your presence and well before you taste the food (sorry, this is stupid tipping). This place needs some quality control on the food, better ideas for bowls, and a little bit of joy from the employees. An expensive downer.

They provide a carafe of water on the table, which was good given the service. Service was a bit spotty and kind of slow. We didn't see our server much and the food was pretty slow to come out. However, they were extremely busy, so I can forgive it a bit. The menu was interesting and the food was pretty good when we got it. I will say there were hits and misses though. The hummus and sourdough pita was excellent. Fried delicata squash was so good, I made a roasted version for Thanksgiving.
