It's okay for being the only easily accesible poke shop in town. I mean, we keep coming back so it's obviously not terrible but it's also extremely inconsistent. I actually held off on writing this review until our after our fourth visit to make a fair judgement. Yo Poke is a good option if you're looking for a quick and easy meal. The quality of the fish is on the mid-level of good and the ingredients are typically fresh. As for the store itself, it's kept very clean and there are a several tables and chairs if you choose to sit and eat. We've visited on a few occasions now and the staff has been friendly every single time. The biggest problem lies in consistency. On two out of four visits, we received poke bowls that were so sad looking with 6 or 7 little cubes of fish. On the other two visits, we were served a portion that looks like most other restaurants offer. (I've been BYO poke restaurants in several states). At this point, we watch the person building our bowls getting a tiny half scoop of protein, usually fish, or a full one. It's very interesting to me how the servings can come out so different even though they literally use the same scooper...just fill that tiny little thing up and let's call it a day. To be honest, a full scoop versus a half scoop usually determines a generous tip or a "this is just to be nice" one. The food itself is usually pretty tasty, no complaints on that front. Here is one of my favorite BYO combos: + Sushi Rice + Proteins: Tuna & Salmon + Mix-ins: White & Green Onions. + Sauces: Shoyu & Wasabi Mayo. + Sides: Edamame, Surimi Salad, Ginger & Avocado + Toppings: Sesame Oil, Tempura Flakes & Furikake If you try it, let me know what you think! Yo Poke looks like a number of poke establishments--a nice counter that also serves as a make-table for the crew, a clear menu on the wall with items assorted by when you need to share them, and a few tables (high and low) for sitting and eating though it looks like most customers take out their food. The look is nothing special, but it does seem to be appropriate for this kind of restaurant. The food was remarkably medium. I would have liked to see some suggested poke bowls on the menu rather than leaving my bowl to my suggestions. The fish seemed pretty fresh, and the vegetables were crisp. While it wasn't bad, it didn't seem to rise to "good" either. I also had the miso soup, which was lukewarm and came from a machine (it looked like the hot chocolate machines that were once ubiquitous). It had no particular taste and featured lumps of tofu and a garnish of wakame. The soup wasn't even medium, and having it served in disposable bowls with plastic spoons made it less apealing. At $26, this meal wasn't worth it. Of course, the management has the payment device throwing on tip options so that you can tip a staff that looks inconvenienced by your presence and well before you taste the food (sorry, this is stupid tipping). This place needs some quality control on the food, better ideas for bowls, and a little bit of joy from the employees. An expensive downer. read more

Poke in Bozeman, Montana?! We were a little skeptical but man am I glad we chose to go here before heading back to the airport. Regular bowl is more than enough for a lunch portion. I got salmon and almost every topping. Their house sauce is a soy/garlic/ginger sauce that's super yummy and of course I topped it off with a little eel sauce, crispy onions, and sesame seeds. Glad we got there right at 11 because there ended up being a constant line from when we got in until we left at 11:30. Not like the best poke i've ever had, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was even a dedicated poke place in town for when the cravings hit especially hard. I went for lunch on a weekday, and a line quickly formed behind me, so there seems to be somewhat of a lunch rush. There are only 2 people making the bowls and ringing them up, so there may be a short wait. I got the regular bowl, half sushi rice half mixed greens, with 2 scoops of salmon, almost all of the toppings and their house sauce and eel sauce. The salmon is decent and seemed to be the most popular choice. Wish there wasn't an upcharge for masago, but there was more than enough topping selection and it was a filling and healthyish meal. Came out to be a little over $13 with tip, pretty typical for a poke bowl. Didn't see the owner(?) mentioned in previous reviews; all of the staff there seemed pretty friendly to me. read more

i ordered on doordash i ordered a LARGE create your own bowl and that comes with 3!!!! scoops of protein. i asked for salmon, tuna, and spicy salmon. there was MAYBE 7 pieces of small chopped protein. you shouldn't be screwing people out of their $18 they spend on to go orders. the bowl was 3/4 filled with rice. if i wanted to spend that much money on rice i would have went to the store and bought my own rice. read more

The customer service is very poor. I arrived 12 minutes before close and as I approached the door someone walked out and they locked the door behind them. I stood at the door and was ignored. I called to see if they would let me in and they said that they normally close at 8:20-8:25 when I have arrived at 8:18. I could clearly see young kids running the place were just trying to get out of work a few minutes early. Very disappointed when I was told they had put all the food away when I could clearly see all the food was still out. Food was so so good and it was a large portion for a good price. But I do have some concerns. First, I believe it was the manager working with another coworker and he wasn't very nice to the hardworking employee and was quite snappy. Second that same manager was wearing his mask around his neck, as a result he was maskless around my food (not too sanitary in a pandemic if you ask me), and lastly service was incredibly slow so if you have a short lunch break, you might need to go elsewhere for quicker service. We were looking for sushi delivery today and came upon Yo Poke. It looks like they just opened today?! We have our favorite sushi restaurants in Bozeman, but their poke bowl pics looked so yummy we were excited to give them a try. Oh. My. Goodness!!! We ordered the Yo Lo bowl and Yo Honey Lava Shrimp bowl. Both were a great size! Packed full of goodies like seaweed salad, crab salad, edamame, etc. The Yo Lo was our favorite. The Honey Lava was yummy, but a bit sweet. We will definitely be ordering from Yo Poke again! Welcome to town!! read more
