Walking on a beautiful and quaint Main St in Bozeman, Montana needing a good lunch but not wanting to drive. Snow is lightly falling and the ambiance of Main St is straight out of a cool western movie sets. We slipped into Sweet Chili Asian Bistro after searching the web for a close by Thai restaurant. The interior was well decorated and only one other party of 4 was present, a concern! We were quickly seated and ordered the fried calimari and green curry with chicken, one of their featured dishes. The food arrived quickly and was warm. The calimari was lightly battered with a good exterior crunchy and a delicious plum like sauce. The green curry with chicken, carrot, zucchini and chopped tomatoes quickly followed. For being a featured dish, I found the green curry bland, watery and lacking flavor. For me curry sauce has a rich coconut milk taste and flavor. The sauce here was loose, and runny. Sweet Chili Asian Bistro has a great location, nice interior decor but the food here is not on par. When I think of Thai food, my taste buds begin to dance and salivary gland are purged to explodes. This experience was fine but I know their are additional options to try in the mountain of Bozeman. read more

Pros: the food we had here was very tasty! Cons: almost 20 minutes for the food to come out of the kitchen, service was awful and the food is overpriced. Nice looking restaurant but if you want the food to be priced this high then you have to have much better service, our waiter was useless, food took forever, no refills on water, had to ask again for a check etc etc. We won't be back. read more

Food- mediocre. Note to owner who was also the cook- my VEGAN daughter requested Pad Thai replace chicken with tofu and he REFUSED! Would not add it. We said okay- Pad Thai with mixed vegetable would be fine. Server asked which vegetables she wanted. Food came out with noodles and only BROCCOLI. Server said again, chef refused to put mixed vegetables - only one type. The customer is paying for a dish - serve it the way a person wants it. Adhere to their diet restrictions. It's NOT about you! The reason this restaurant was nearly empty on a Friday night and every other we went to had 1.5 hr wait is because the "chef" refuses to change a dish. I would avoid this place! We stopped here based on the fabulous reviews. We got off to a rocky start when I mentioned my allergy to shellfish and our server had a very awkward reaction and pointed out their fine-print warning about not accommodating allergies. To the point that I thought she was asking me to leave including telling me she couldn't serve me. After further discussion and my promise to take a Benedryl, we were good to go. Whew. Because it was a lovely meal. We started with cocktails and an order of mango tuna sushi which was both beautiful and tasty! I opted for the bison drunken noodles - spicy and good. I loved the extensive menu and they would alter any item to your liking. I was with a large group and we all ordered different items. Service was impeccable. Very friendly. I had the cashew chicken. This was amazing! My husband is Asian and very particular. He loved all of the food. The pineapple, cashew fried rice was his favorite and had plenty of chicken and shrimp. I went there in a group of nine for a last minute dinner. We were hungry and ready to eat! They had good reviews so we had high expectations. I wanted to try the Mongolian Local Bison dish, but since I was hungry I asked the waitress about the size of their portion. She told me it was big enough for two. Considering their prices. I believed her. What I actually received was a soupy dish with an about two ounces of bison meat in it. The rest was vegetables. And while the dish tasted good, for $30, I think they can do better. Everyone's dish was average to decent, about a 5 if I had to give it a number. But again, for what they are charging, they need to step up their game. read more

Delicious Thai food! They serve sushi too, but we haven't tried, so I can't comment on sushi. Thai green seafood curry was perfect. My wife had Bison Drunken Noodles and said that it was the best noodles she ever tasted. She even shared a small piece with me :) Very good ambiance too: a nicely decorated interior, beautiful bar, white tablecloth and flowers on the tables. Overpriced. The sushi is okay and if you are traveling, I would suggest, but those who are local be prepared for a heavy bill.

Lamb and all meats bought at Costco, not shipped in as menu states. The only "fresh" food is sushi, rice, Pad Thai. Service is slow, owners friendly enough. Quiet ambiance if you have the time to wait for your meal to arrive. Menu is a mix of cultures and almost all contain fish or allergens. read more

Just spent 8 days in MT & WY, and our group agreed this was the best meal of the trip, by far! Our server (pronounced "Sigh," and I apologize that I don't know the correct spelling) was friendly, prompt, and offered great suggestions. It was our first night in Bozeman and we had no dinner plans. We happened to be parked across from here and decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! We were a bit reluctant based on the current score but we can't figure out why it's low. The service was outstanding, very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nicer than I'd expected. Exploring Bozeman when we stumbled upon this cute little restaurant ! My bf and I sat at the bar and was had the lovely pleasure of meeting the bartender, Sindalee (apologies if I spelled it wrong!! ) she was the sweetest girl ever !! I usually only stick with my original drink but wanted to go out of my comfort zone! Sindalee asked me what my choice of alcohol was and made me a Mango Mojito. Omg it was sooooo good !!! Rarely do I give a perfect score. It must be perfect. Sweet Chili delivered. We arrived, the owner greeted us, told a short good history of the place, found us a good table and our server took over. The assortment of food was great, the presentation was great, taste was excellent, a little fire in the Buffalo noodle and duck dishes but excellent non the less. We had a wide assortment of appetizers and entrees for sharing, sushi, duck, noodles, Buffalo stir fry with a creamy wide noodle, pot stickers, etc. all delicious. The presentation was great. I was at bozeman for 6 days and went there 4 times. Food is bison based asian style cooked, some of them are pretty spicy. Mongolian bison as well as Bison drunken noodle are recommended. Service is amazing, thoughtful but not too much pressure. read more

We enjoyed everything about our meal here. From our first interaction with a busy-but-cheerful greeter to paying the bill, I'd have difficulty finding fault. If I were to be picky, I could mention the fresh spring rolls seemed to have been stored tightly wrapped, so by the time they come to the table, the rice paper rolls were completely stuck together - we abandoned chopsticks and utensils and pulled them apart with our fingers. One other? The white wine was served way too cold and in chilled, frosty wine glasses, the only hiccup in a nice wine program (our waitstaff even knew the wines well enough to answer detailed questions and guide us to a good pairing with our menu choices). I just had lunch with a friend at Sweet Chili on Main Street in Bozeman, MT. The service and the ambiance were great, but the food was exceptional. I had the green curry with chicken, and I can truthfully say that I never have had a better curry meal anywhere in town or out of town for that matter. The spicing was just right ...lots of flavor without too much heat. The portion was generous. My friend ordered the cashew chicken and was very positively impressed with it. Although directly on Main Street, there is public parking directly behind the restaurant, so parking was not an issue at 12 noon. I highly recommend Sweet Chili and am looking forward to my next meal there. read more

I have one regret... I did not take pictures of our delicious meal! After scoping out three other restaurants in the area my wife and I decided to stop here at Sweet Chili Asian Bistro. The ambiance inside was nice, warm and inviting. I highly recommend to start with the pot stickers. Fresh and handmade, you cannot go wrong with an order. The summer rolls are also good along with the peanut dipping sauce that comes with it. For the entrees we ordered drunken noodles with chicken and the Spicy Basil Duck and the sweet chili sushi roll. The noodles were cooked perfectly and had good flavor. The duck was to die for. Cooked perfectly and the vegetables in the dish were cooked al dente, just how I liked them. The roll had eight good sized pieces of sushi and the spice was balanced out with the sweetness of the unagi sauce. The service here is also really good. Our waitress was extremely nice and patient while we perused the menu. If you're looking for good asian food in the Bozeman area then look no further than Sweet Chili Asian Bistro. read more
